Easy check-in and parking is very safe underneath the hotel. Rooms are very clean and you can't hear your next door neighbors at all. Walkable to all of the local restaurants and shops. We had the breakfast buffet on Sunday morning and it was huge with lots of great options to eat. My husband used the workout room one afternoon next to the pool. The kids played in the pool and we visited a few of the museums at the resort. Friday night they had a wedding outside and the band played till midnight. It was quiet on Saturday night. Beautiful property and lots of history.

Beautiful and special property! My room was nice and clean when I first arrived but following my appointment at the Spa when I returned it was full of very tiny ants. All my belongings covered with them. This really spoiled my experience. Main restaurant was great for all meals. Delicious meals and silver service. Spa was the highlight of my stay. I had stem cell facial with Paula who was fantastic! Thanks so much!

absolutely stunning and unique property. well maintained, and they did an amazing job or turning it into a living museum. rooms were large and very comfortable. beds were cozy, food was very good. location is close to many restaurants/cafes and very central. pool/jacuzzi area is so beautiful and clean. amazing views of volacanos. highly recommend this hotel.

I got a room upgrade that was totally unexpected, but certainly appreciated. The room was gorgeous, best views of the volcanoes. Spotless. Staff checked the room twice a day. The front desk staff was wonderful, helpful, knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. The restaurant setting is beautiful with great food. The grounds are beautiful and the spa was soul renewing. Going back to hotel Santo Domingo for sure!!

Common areas are beautiful! And the museums are a jewel of colonial art and history. However, the rooms do not complement the rest of the property. Rooms are bland, no color, no decoration and dated furniture. The bathroom must have been renovated back in the 90s. I had to ask for hand soap and shower gel for two people. They keep little pieces of paper with messages about reusing towels all over, placed them even on your pillow. Only two bottles of water for your entire stay!!! The staff is professional but you don’t really feel welcome. Other four star hotels in Antigua offer so much more.

The entire experience was awful. From check-in to check-out the were very aggressive with charging for absolutely everything. They wanted to put a hold on our card for the entire amount of the stay despite that we had already paid. They charged for the bottles of water. For the price per night for the hotel I expected to get a much better experience. There was plenty of things that were just off and rude. Won’t be staying there again.

After 37 minutes waiting for my room after the 3:00pm check in time, I noticed other people getting cold drinks and towels for the heat. And I was given none. When i finally was given my key I got to my room and the cleaning staff was still doing their work. Not what one would expect from the supposd best hotel in Antigua

I’m will try my best to give an objective review. Disappointing Experience – Not a Luxury Hotel Our stay at Santo Domingo was far from what we expected for a hotel charging nearly $400 a night. Check-in took over 40 minutes and no one offered to help with our bags. Upon arrival, we were told the room we booked wasn’t available but that we were “upgraded” as Expedia VIPs. The so-called deluxe suite was spacious but dark, humid, and certainly not worth the premium price. Breakfast service was just okay — despite having a reservation, our table wasn’t ready and staff scrambled to accommodate us. Checkout was just as frustrating, with another 40-minute wait for someone to assist with our luggage. To make matters worse, we were told that we couldn’t have “visits” in our suite — a policy never mentioned when booking — which meant explaining to my 70-year-old parents that they couldn’t stop by while our 3-year-old napped. Overall, the service was more in line with a hostel than a luxury hotel. Unless the property makes significant improvements, I’d strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

I absolutely love this hotel in Antigua. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. Is not too close to the city center but it is an easy walk. The restaurant was great for breakfast, our favorite part was the room service at night. The hotel is beautiful and we found the beds and amenities very clean. I would definitely be back!

La habitación 159, está cercana o debajo de una calle transitada donde pasan vehículos. The property is so beautiful, it is a destination unto itself with several museums, ruins, a crypt and antiquities everywhere. The room was immaculately clean and I splurged, so I had a dining room, living room and jacuzzi, along with a double rain shower stall which was amazing. The bed was really comfortable and I got a very good night's sleep. I ate at the Refectario, and the food was delicious and the service impeccable. The staff wants to please the guests, and that is very appreciated. I had a disappointing experience at the spa, but the spa manager immediately offered me a discount for my treatment, which was fine. The one comment I would make for English speaking travelers coming to Antigua, you will need to understand basic phrases in Spanish or it will be very challenging for you to get around. Most people I met, including the hotel staff, know very little English.

Hotel Museo Casa Santo Domingo is probably one of the most beautiful hotels in Antigua Guatemala. The property is kept in pristine conditions and service is up to par. The pricing on food and beverages is somewhat above what is already expected for this level of hotel, leaving an unfortunate sensation of being overpriced, this causes guests to seek better dining options outside the property, of which there are plenty in Antigua. Overall, a great hotel, worth coming back.
