This is a great hotel in Guatemala City. Extremely convenient location - close to airport, walking to shopping, restaurants, entertainment. Super helpful staff. Clean facilities. Outstanding breakfast. Just can't find anything negative to say about it. It will be our new home away from home in Guate. City.

I had no expectations when I arrived. I found an old-style hotel, yet very well maintained and clean, with such a kind staff. The toiletries samples came in handy, and I loved how well-rested I was on that mattress. Although it is close to the airport, I didn't hear a thing, and I had a light sleep! I was also in the front tower; my other colleagues stayed in the left-side tower behind the lobby, and they mentioned it was a bit older than mine. The only thing I will not give a five-star rating for is the Ramen soup at the Japanese restaurant; sorry, but it was not good at all. I eat Ramen everywhere I go; I fell in love with it in Japan, and that soup was a total disappointment. Nevertheless, I was surprisingly invited by the manager to taste the dinner buffet at LA Fuente restaurant the next evening and it was outstanding. Thanks a lot for that gesture, I didn't expect it at all. I recommend you eat dinner at LA Fuente restaurant. This is the same restaurant where you will have your breakfast, and it's worth it. It has lots of options, is delicious, and great service. Don't forget to tip the waitress! Overall, my stay at the Barceló Hotel was very pleasant and conveniently close to the airport.
