SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Upland - Ontario North

Well-maintained older hotel with impressive amenities for the price. Was pleased by the gated parking; full hot breakfast buffet; and my large suite with sofa, microwave, & mini-fridge. The lobby, spacious breakfast area, & suite were clean, nicely decorated, and seemed recently renovated. Didn't try property's pool, fitness center, or washer/dryer - but was glad they offered those features. Employees were helpful. Room's lamps and alarm clock all had power outlets. TV had lots of channels. Only drawback: no elevators. Location: practically across the street from San Antonio Regional Hospital and various other medical offices. Lot of chain stores and restaurants nearby (both on Foothill Blvd / Route 66 and at the Campus Ave. exit of the 210 freeway).

Theresa at reception was handling rush hour and a malfunctioning key reader with such grace + solo. She kept it lighthearted and was super efficient despite the technical difficulties. Great customer service. The king suite was in great condition besides some hair and minor shampoo stains on the shower walls. The pool was about a 7/10 due to some debris and probably lack of filtration / skimming. The jacuzzi was very clean on the other hand. Breakfast on a Monday was 6-9 and had eggs, sausage patty, potatoes and waffles you can make. A variety of bread and cereal. Coffee and water available reception at all times.

Clean, comfortable room. The mirror in the bathroom was excellent with lighting all around it. The pool and jacuzzi were awesome. And it's nice that they have secure parking.

Enjoyed the fitness room and the pool with hot tub. Good breakfast. Lots of shopping and food close by. Walmart just up the street.

Nice remodeled rooms. Good breakfast. Hotel in a gated community. Next to a city park hosting some street people. Safe if driving in and out.

The buildings have two floors. No elevator and an open air corridor. So it gives a “motel” kind of feeling. The front desk did tell me there’s no elevator and asked me if I prefer 1st or 2nd floor. The staff is courteous, the room is clean with microwave and fridge. We got free bottled water too. The wall is not sick so we can hear a bit noise from neighbors. Overall good price with simple continental breakfast included for a stay close to airport and colleges we are visiting.

Room was well appointed and super clean. Beds were comfortable with excellent pillows. Pool and hot tub very disappointing however. Pool was ice cold and full of bugs/leaves. Hot tub water had green cloudy tinge and not warm. We weren’t able to use either one. Otherwise super pleasant stay!

It’s a nice hotel for the price. Breakfast is ok. My only issue was the jacuzzi needs to be way hotter. Good price for a nice room.

Check in was easy and fast, this is a gated property, and the room was nice and clean. I would definitely stay there again.

We loved everything about this hotel. The room was very clean and big. Staff was very nice.

I enjoyed our stay, however I had to request that the floor be mopped because my granddaughters feet were black from walking on it and housekeeping did not replace our towels after cleaning the room.

Our experience was ok. The room felt a little dirty and I was supprised that there was not an extra mirror in the room. The only mirror that was in the room was the bathroom. There were no lamps by the beds. It seems that Best Westerns are not the same as they use to be.

We enjoy staying here. The staff is friendly and there is free hot breakfast. The only complaint is the floors in the room make your feet black. I know they clean the floors but they probably just need to change the cleaner or dilute it with more water. We would stay here again.

Very clean an comfortable

I would like to give them a 5 star but honestly the rooms need a deep cleaning. The chair was dirty with wet stains and so the walls. Every corner was dusty and the restroom should be deep cleaned. Few towels were stain and it’s unacceptable. Rooms are nice and decent for the price is staying but the cleanliness & sanitation is a must!!!!!

I'm not going to lie, in shocked at what I got for $100. Room is very clean, well kept, area is quiet, it's on Route 66, parking is gated, wasn't expecting that for the price. I got into the room and it actually looked like what was in the picture. It's basically an upscale Best Western in a sorts. Seems like they just remodeled, hopefully it stays this way, I would have no problem coming back. Not bad best Western, not bad at all.

Floors need to be mop more frequently... Feet turned black walking bare foot when after shower and walking barefoot on floors. Other than that everything else is perfect. I prefer this place over any other place hands down.

It was a bit weird that there was a kitchenette in the front room but the refrigerator was in the bedroom. Also there was only 1 mirror in the bathroom but the room was for 4 people.

Great stay, very clean, safe property. The only complaint I have is with the wifi, it could have been faster in my room. I had to go to the lobby to download some documents, otherwise the stay was perfect, thank you.

Hotel was fine. Clean and updated. But the problem was the HVAC system, which was horribly loud. I could hardly sleep. If you're looking for a quiet place, this is not the choice.

The room is completely refurbished couple things that I didn’t know number one neither of our TVs worked. We let the front desk know. They said that they could move us, but we got in pretty late and didn’t wanna move so that was a little bit of a bummer That they didn’t have anybody there to fix the TVs number two. There’s no full length mirror anywhere in the room three no coffee maker in the room either but there was a microwave. It’s a little slow checking in. We had to wait probably 15 to 20 minutes for check-in. I would recommend probably recommend the hotel for just a one night stay, the bed was comfortable and it was fine for just one night.

Staff was lovely from checkin to helping us out and the breakfast staff. Extremely thin walls though.

I had booked two nights here, but left after the first night. Barely got any sleep, as the walls seemed to be paper thin and the neighbours next door were incredibly loud all night. I ended up sleeping in the living room, to try and not hear them...but every time someone walked by, it felt like an earthquake. No refund for the 2nd night. Waste of money.

I had a great stay, the staff is amazing, Expedia not so much. I’ll never book through this company again. I booked 2 rooms for 4 guests. Have conformation for both rooms, hotel only got one room from Expedia. Hotel management called Expedia and they told her they would call back creating an inconvenience after a long 7 hour drive. The hotel helped and discounted both our rooms and upgraded us and Expedia said sorry about your luck. This company since going to one key is going down the drain.

In all my previous stays at your facility, I was very disappointed with the most recent stay. Housekeeping never came to make beds, provide clean towels, or empty trash cans. Before leaving the room I did remove “do not disturb tag before 11 am. I call to front desk and the personnel brought clean towels and trash bags. Also the tenant next to my hotel room was playing loud music after 1:30 in the morning. I had to call to the front desk and made a complaint.

The staff was super kind, I had to kept extending my stay and they were very helpful with everything. The breakfast in the morning was delicious, I was staying there due to a family member in the hospital and having the breakfast was such a huge help as I was at the hospital all day.

The only issue I had was with the front desk. Two people working. One was helping a customer. The second woman didn't even acknowledge I was there. If it was not the second woman's duty to check in customers, should have said, "She will be right with you." The customer then walked away and I went up to the window. The woman wouldn't even look at me. She finally looked up and said she was still helping the person who walked out of the building. I told her she should have at least said, "I'll be right with you." Totally rude. Will not stay there again.

Chris (front desk) was amazing with us. A minor mux up with our room was corrected.

We were given a key to a room that was occupied by other guests. We didn’t know that there was a woman in the room. We kept trying to open the door with the key that was given to us. She was so scared that someone was trying to brake in to hurt her or kidnap her that she called her boyfriend and asked him to come back to the room. He had gone to the store. He saw us messing with the door so of course he was upset at us. We showed him our key with his room number and then he showed us his key with the same room number. We called receptionist and she came a few minutes later and upgraded us to a bigger room. We didn’t care about the upgrade because we were just so upset about the whole thing. We were so tired from driving all day and were just upset that we had to wait and deal with this until it was resolved.

Good Value. Area is not the best but hotel property is gated and feels mostly safe. Breakfast was good. Room was clean and appears to have been recently renovated. Staff was very nice.

Perfect location to visit our family. Very comfortable beds with very nice bedding. Secure parking behind gated entry. Will definitely stay here again.

Great location and good place to stay

Nice room! Fairly walkable dining. A bit sketchy on the walk if I had been alone. Luckily I was with 2 other men.

I didn’t know what to expect but this was a nice stay. The hotel is in a good location. The staff is friendly and the room was very spacious and very clean. My one gripe is that the water pressure in the shower was low but overall I am pleased and would book again.

Our stay was great. Our 2 issues were that the bottoms of the bed were aluminum so every time your foot hit it it would have this loud vibrating sound. Also that our complimentary breakfast was served to us the hot portions, instead of us helping ourselves. However we had access to the cold items and coffee. Other than that our stay was pleasant, we utilize the pizza parlor next door.

For the price, this is a really good spot! I'm so impressed with how they renovated this hotel! Clean and cute lobby, coffee, water machines, full breakfast included! But not just any coffee, flavored creamers (get out of here!) Online check-in beforehand, super easy/convenient. Nice to require a key card for guest parking in the back for safety (because that area of Foothill is medium safe). Clean room with cute, modern chair and clean bathroom counter/fixtures. Very white and minimal, don't expect 4-star hotel frills and thrills.. but the room came with microwave, mini-fridge, a TV that could connect to Netflix, had Salon Selectives body wash and shampoo/conditioner (throwback to the 80s!), nice functioning A/C and comfy, soft linens. I only wish the towels looked cleaner/whiter and fluffier and that the windows blocked out the outside noise more. They were very thin so you could hear people walking by, a loud truck in the parking lot and sirens in the street. But for what you pay for, a really clean, good 2.5-star place. If they want to really put a cherry on top (since they're already doing a great job), I'd say buy new towels, update/replace some caulking and touch-up some paint to freshen things up. But again, you get what you pay for and while I'd be appalled at cracked caulk if I was paying $500+/night, this is not that price, so I understood. That being said, I will probably be returning to this hotel!

I was greeted by friendly staff and the hospitality at breakfast was fantastic. I really enjoyed the Pub that is connected too. Juan and his family are friendly and the food and drinks were great too. I will stay here again when in town

Everything was amazing besides the "room service". Scanned a QR code in the room, ordered pizza, called an hour later to check the status, took another 30 minutes to arrive. Way over priced ($50 for a medium pizza) that barely had any cheese on it and was cold. The hotel itself was wonderful!
