Quality Inn Fairmont

Our check in went smoothly, and the front desk attendant was nice. Our room was to be an accessible room and smoke free, and it wasn't on both counts. Our room smelled so much like smoke that it affected my breathing, even though there was a non-smoking room sign on the desk. Everything reeked of stale smoke. The carpet was dirty. There was food and crumbs under the mattress, when we lifted it up to look for bugs. The bathroom toilet broke and didn't flush well. The shower wasn't a walk-in, it was a tub. That's hard for someone who needs access to the shower. The tiny little shelf on the wall in the bathroom wasn't attached. The wall bar by the toilet was loose. The corners were dirty. When we called housekeeping to help with the toilet, they just walked right into the bathroom when my husband was getting ready - no announcement. The hallway carpet was dirty with something that was spilled and not cleaned up. The breakfast lady was rude when asked a question about one of the food items available. Overall, this was a very bad experience for my family. I always read the reviews before booking anywhere but this time the reviews failed me! If it wasn't WVU's graduation weekend and there was other availability, we would have packed up and left. If there was a way to get my money back, I would be asking for that!

It was a perfectly average hotel stay, nothing more or less. Breakfast is really good though.

Basic hotel room. Nothing fancy. Staff was very friendly.

Just avoid this place… especially if travelling with kids. The whole place smells terrible including the rooms. Carpets and furniture are dirty and run down. Exterior exits don’t lock so anyone can enter the hotel from any of the back entrances. Toilet flushed… sometimes. Just a dump. Didn’t see any crack heads or sketchy people so I guess that was the only plus.
