Mercure Pont d’Avignon Centre

A nice hotel within the old city walls with adjacent parking. The carpark was almost full by midday and could be a problem during busy periods. We were too early to check in but the receptionist gave recommendations where to have lunch. The room was prepaid and as expected a credit card was required for any extras, unfortunately the bar staff refused to allow drinks to be charged to the room – the management apologised for this when it was brought to their attention. The room (319) was spotless and well equipped although one of the bedside reading lights was broken and the rain shower didn’t work.

Rather tired and small rooms. Good location for city sites. Parking description is misleading as this is a multi-storey car park with a couple of unloading spaces as you drive in - anyone booking will get an email explaining this but it is certainly NOT the hotels secure car park!

Centrally located hotel close to Palais des Papes. We had a very quiet room overlooking the courtyard. The checkin staff was great, gave us some excellent restaurant tips and things to do inside and outside of Avignon. Parking was in a public parking which was a little pricey but 20% discount. The parking was v busy but if you park at the end of the parking where the hotel is its quite quiet and not difficult to find a place.

Un hôtel incroyablement bien situé (1mn à pied du palais des papes) mais très défraîchi un peu indigne de ses 4 étoiles. En revanche le personnel est très sympathique. Mention spéciale à Virginie du front desk! Très bon petit déjeuner. L’accès direct au parking depuis l’hôtel est un atout indéniable.

The only hotel that I know of in Avignon which has a designated Drop off point. Staff excellent.

From the selection of Mercure hotels we had during our trip, this was the best one, except the weird huge parkinglot, it’s just ridiculous. We were instructed to park at level 3 of this public parkinglot. Ofcourse everybody wants to park there, so we ended up at a much further level, with no elevator and had to walk with heavy luggage through a maze of staircases and hallways. So not cool for a first timer.

非常沒有人性的階梯，使用大件行李非常不方便。沒有任何的協助，雖然地點不錯，但是進入大廳前許多階梯！ 停車場高度太低，van無法進入，必須停在1.6km遠的停車場，非常非常不方便！ 早餐非常簡單，乏善可陳。這是住過最差的4星級飯店

Summary: Parking and check in logitics are incredibly flawed and the male at the desk was disrespectful and dismissive when this We checked in at approximately 6:30pm on Sept 21. There was no available space at the check in area and we were forced to park on the attached parking lot. There were two hotel vans parked in the spots outside the doors and several small cars were double parked in front of other vehicles. Of note, a red Fiat occupied one space of the minimal check in parking for the duration of our stay. Since the checkin parking was overly occupied (double parked) we parked where hotel access was indicated. There is no elevator. We entered a dark hallway with dirty stairs heading downward. We then went down two levels of the parking lot in open metal stairs with our rolling luggage. If you fear heights this would be very challenging. Once we arrived with our luggage at the bottom of the stairs at the arrival spot we noticed no cars had moved. We then went up a half flight of stairs with our luggage to check in. There was no ramp. When we mentioned the parking situation to the male at the desk he said that we should have used the check in area. When I told him his vehicles had blocked needed parking he said “well you came at a busy time” and walked away from me. I was clearly physically distressed from having to move luggage down three flights of industrial stairs and his lack of professionalism and respect shocked me. The property was 3*. Location=A

Not qualified to be a 4 star hotel, just like 1-2 star only. Very old and dirty, really need renovation, not worth to pay this price. The good point is the hotel is located in the old town, easy to walk to the sightseeing points. Also there is a very big car park just next to the hotel, very convenient if u have a car.

Väldigt centralt läge med garage under huset. Bra frukost och restaurang. Rummet var ok men hade en dålig lukt, särskilt på badrummet.

3일동안 모든 것이 만족스러웠습니다. 관광하기에 위치도 좋았고 호텔도 깨끗하고 아침 뷔페도 훌륭했습니다. 그리고 직원들도 모두 친절했습니다. 특히 직원 샐마( Salma)는 너무 친절하고 많은 것을 도와주었습니다.다음에 아비뇽에 다시 오면 꼭 이 호텔에 머물겠습니다.

Hasn't been refershed in 20 years. Foul smell permeates the whole property. DON'T STAY HERE.

Very tired looking hotel . Dirty carpets . Pour staff and dreadful buffet breakfast

A good well run hotel. The location is very close to the Palace of the Popes and within the city walls. Rooms very clean as was the rest of the hotel. Buffet Breakfast had a bonus of scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages in addition to the usual "Continental" breakfast items. Tea was available but you made your own teabag from the selection of teas and infusions available if that was preferred to coffee.

Bedroom dull and didn’t smell fresh. For deluxe rooms we were disappointed.

Chambre 329, très bruyante la nuit car les livraisons se font sur l’arrière de l’hôtel à partir de 4h du matin. Pas cool. De plus ménage non fait et aucune indication à l’accueil sur ce ménage à demander ou pas. Sinon restaurant bien et serveur efficace

L’hôtel est idéalement situé, à 2 min à pieds de palais des papes dans une rue très mignonne. Le petit déjeuner est plutôt complet aussi. Le personnel est sympathique. Néanmoins le bémol est situé sur les chambres: extrêmement exiguës, l’état de la salle de bain n’est pas terrible non plus. Même pas une bouteille d’eau dans les chambres comme dans la plupart des hôtels dont la nuit est à 200€. Mais le pire c’est le bruit, les chambres sont très mal asonorisés, la nuit fut très compliquée dans cet hôtel dans lequel malgré les qq qualités je ne reviendrai pas car la fonction principale d’un hôtel c’est dormir

Hotel within walking distance from Palais du Papes, the Pont d’Avignon and old town. Very friendly staff AC does not get turned on during transitional season

The hotel was in a terrific location. It was quiet and tidy. We had a pretty view. The staff was helpful, especially the bartender who cheerfully opened a bottle of wine for us that we bought at a local winery!

Bra hotell väldigt nära påvepalatset i gamla stan. Parkering finns i parkeringshus i anslutning till hotellet, dock inte gratis. Bra frukost. Tyvärr slutade AC:n att fungera på vårt rum den andra natten, vilket var lite jobbigt då det snabbt blev väldigt varmt.

The rooms are too basic. We booked rooms that were described as having a desk and there was no desk. It would have been impossible to fit in. Rooms were clean but VERY small. The air con was very noisy (couldn’t sleep with it on) so we had to just sleep with the window open and the noise that goes with that when your room over looks the restaurant area. The bar/restaurant staff were very pleasant. Some of the front of house - less so and borderline rude when we were asked on checking out if there were any issues. I said the rooms were very small and misrepresented in the description. They just said it was Expedia’s fault. Great location and the town is lovely. I would not stay again because of the issues described above but Avignon is lovely.

The staff was excellent. Especially Lucas and Julie checking-in. The breakfast was wonderful. Rooms were very nice. Don't believe the staff at the train station. Its a 30 minute walk with luggage but a straight route, close to the river and easier without luggage. Beautiful area

Leider nicht die beste Erfahrung was Servicequalität beim Einchecken und Parken betrifft. Frühstück lohnt sich nicht, wieder nur Minimalversion für viel Geld.

The hotel enjoys a prime location, conveniently situated near the city's major attractions. Overall, it aligns with the standards expected of a Mercure hotel. Regrettably, I experienced a disappointing lapse in service. After departing for Monaco, I realized I had left my coat in the wardrobe. I requested assistance from the Novotel reception in Monaco, also part of the same hotel chain, to contact the Mercure Pont d'Avignon and arrange for the coat to be forwarded. However, after two days with no action, I was forced to drive back to retrieve the coat myself. This wasted an entire day and cost me around 100 euros.

Poblemas en recepcion, no hablan Español, la habitacion faltal, tras pedir hablar con el Director conseguimos que nos la cambiasen. Las habitaciones a Hoteles.com por lo menos en Francia son las peores

This hotel is very close to the centre of the historic town near the Papal Palace and the medieval bridge. About 15min from the central railway station.

They had fresh squeezed orange juice at the breakfast buffet and that was wonderful. The staff was extremely pleasant.

Basic functional hotel. Stairs from entrance to check in with no door staff to help with luggage. Rooms were clean and functional. Poorly designed shower got bathroom floor wet. Great location for iconic Avignon landmarks. Simple but adequate breakfast.

Hotel situato in centro a pochi passi dal Palazzo dei Papi. Parti comuni ben arredate e ben curate. Personale gentile. Varia e ottima la colazione. Nel bagno non c'era la presa per il phon, il materasso era durissimo, da un lato del letto mancava il comodino e nella televisione non era presente il canale italiano

교황청 등 주요 관광지 안에 있어 다니기 매우 편리했어요. 제가 갔을 때는 단체 관광객들이 와서 복도도 시끄럽고 특히 조식에서는 음식이 다 비어있고 별로였어요. 한 번 채워진 음식은 다시 채우는 일이 없더라구요

Ideal central location, close to everything. Staff very friendly. Breakfast very good but get there in plenty of time before closing as not a lot left 20 mins before finish and no replenishing.
