This hotel is falling apart. Their pool has been permanently closed, which isn’t indicated on this website, and the area that used to house the pool is literally caving in. Beds were double size and not at all comfortable. They also showed signs of past bedbug infestation. Hotels should be using mattress encasements to prevent bedbugs at this point. We experienced trouble with the door locks and hot water, too. They removed the free coffee from the lobby before 10am and the Starbucks they used to have onsite has also been permanently closed. Even after they took $60 off our bill because of the discrepancy with the pool, we still ended up paying $250/night for this dump. You can definitely find a cheaper place with a pool and free breakfast that’s in better condition.

The service was great. We used the complimentary van service to go to dinner and back. The driver was friendly and prompt. Our room was clean with a nice view of the city. Our only issue were the double beds, however we were aware of the size at booking. Overall a great experience. We will book there again when in the area.

My room was very clean and the staff was kind and courteous. The pool was under construction and closed and the balcony in the room I booked was not accessible, neither of which was noted in the description of the hotel at time of booking. I specifically ordered a balcony room with the expectation of being able to use the balcony and I chose a hotel with a pool for the same reason. I was disappointed to learn that neither of these things were available only after arriving for my stay.

Kind of a dingy area. Parking garage isn’t checked and entrance is broken but they still charge $15/day so that was annoying. Otherwise pretty clean although it was dusty and had a few spiders. Staff seem annoyed.

Our room was great!! The location was great! The staff were great. The parking garage is a nightmare. Doesn’t seem safe. Falling apart. I just don’t understand why the hotel doesn’t open its restaurant when the hotel is full due to a concert. The bar and lobby are full of cigarette smoke because the smoking area seems to be right in front of the door. We stay here often when we go to concerts. It’s always like this. I think Marriot can do better.

We picked this place because it is close to the Colosseum we could walk To the event. As far as that goes the location is great! Super short walk. When I asked about parking I was told it was on a “honor system” because the gate /security arm had been ran through by someone’s car and not fixed. No tag to hang on the rear view a sticker,….nothing. And they charged me $15 to park in it when anyone could have parked there even if they weren’t a guest. The hotel is ran down. The furniture in the lobby and rooms were ripped and cushions were flat. The air conditioning was broken and got up to 76 degrees in our room. The sheet had a “wet” spot on it that was all the way down to the mattress cover. There’s 2 very small elevators that did not accommodate the capacity of the building. When we checked out the attendant acted like she was definitely on something. She was not friendly and could have literally cared less about what was going on. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Super disappointing for almost $200. No thanks!

The hotel overall was ok but could have been better. Every surface of our room was very dusty. Left dust on our fingers. The bathroom counter was dirty as well has dirt on the shower floor and hair on the toilet. The bed was not made very well either. They no longer have a pool even though it was advertised and have pool listed on their sings.

The building appears to be nearing a renovation. major HVAC issues. The room was extremely damp and never cooled off with thermostat down to 65 degrees. I wiped mold off the vent and ceiling. We couldnt move to anywhere else so we tolerated the stay. Carpet in hall was ripple and could be a tripping hazard. Not what I would expect from Marriott. Hope the improvements are made.

This is a nice hotel but it needs upgrading bad. I dont anything has been done to the hotel since being built. Everything is old, carpets in hallways are dirty and the halls smell musky. My room was cold.carpeting in rooms are old and bed covering was stained.

The air conditioning did not work well. Our thermostat was set on 65 and the room never went below 74. Also the shower had mildew in the tile. Other than that those issues, the room was fine. The view is dismal but they really can’t help that. The common areas seemed like they were more updated but the parking garage is a disaster. The employees were very friendly which is nice!

A well maintained hotel with a clean spacious room. Great view from our floor-to-ceiling windows (you can't walk out onto the balcony but you have one). I liked the little shop next to check in where you can grab snacks, drinks or whatever toiletries you're lacking. No complaints.

We arrived and found out after getting into our room that the air conditioner wasn't working and they said they were working on it only to find out that they had been working on it for last two - three weeks. When we checked out and asked for discount since the air conditioning was not working, we where informed that since we went through a third party that we would have to work with them, that being the case we didn't know who to contact at expedia and how to check on the bill making sure there were no additional charges that we didn't know about. Any help you can provide us would be appreciated Thank you William Floyd

No matter what the thermostat was set at, it was warm. Set it to 65 and it stayed at 71 the whole time. The staff was very undermanned for a huge concert happening that weekend.

Wasnt awful. But i expected more from a Marriot. The building is old and outdated. The pool was empty but the website didnt mention that. It showed pictures of a pool full of water. The room was a bit small, and the bathroom very small. The mattresses had been replaced with VERY thin cheap mattresses which left us in pain in the morning. The rooms DO NOT have microwaves. How does a hotel at this price not have a microwave ????? The refrigerator needed defrosted. Each room has a private balcony which is locked off. You CANNOT use them. When I asked why, they said it was a fire hazard. But looking out the window at the neighboring hotels and apartment buildings, their balconies were being used. So I don't buy the whole fire hazard thing. Every issue I listed here is a minor issue, but all of them together create a negative experience. The staff at the hotel was friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping came to our room everyday while we were gone to replace towels, trash, make beds, etc.... so that was certainly appreciated. But they need to put microwaves in the rooms. C'mon Its not a terrible place, but for the price they charge here, I'd expect better.

We have stayed here many times and everything seems outdated now. Staff wasn't overly friendly. No clocks in the rooms. Called for wake up call to be at 6:00 a.m. and it called us at 4:45 a.m. I had a procedure at the hospital and this was very important and caused us problems.

And I’m picky about my bed. Brick Salt Bar and Kitchen was clean. Everyone was super nice in bar area. Food was good with big portions. And the drinks were great!!

We were at an event at the Convention Center. Th hotel is right down the street so it was super convenient. The parking was good at the hotel and the service was professional and the room was quiet and clean. And the price was a bargain.

Extremely close to the Charleston Coliseum. Carpet on 4th floor is a trip/fall hazard due to area that appear loose. Shower got warm but not hot enough to use. Low level noise from light bulbs created a sensory issue for daughter. Paid $16 per person for the breakfast buffet was a under whelming with wet scrambled eggs and extremley limited selection of cheap conental breakfast foods. Check in/out employees were short and dismissive. On check out I was not asked about my stay and had to request my receipt twice to have it printed. However, the service in the dining area was exceptional! Room was very clean and comfortable. Bottom line, I will not stay here again. I will be staying one street over where parking and large beffett breakfast are free, more convenient, and exceptional service at the Holiday Inn.

Great stay, clean room, comfortable bed, nice staff. The room we stayed in was very clean and had a new tv. The breakfast buffet was very good and the server was the best! I upgraded parking and breakfast and worth it. I was hesitant after reading negative reviews but happy that we booked anyway! I would stay again.

The bathroom had some hair/fuzz behind door corner, and edges of room had some debris that a vacuum didn’t obtain. The coffee cups were warped and unusable with lids, but all this was minor. I still enjoyed my stay. The restaurant food is delicious.

We had to request maid service-the first day my room remained untouched. The breakfast buffet served cold food, although the staff working the buffet was exceptionable. The hotel itself is a bit run down, with molding coming off the walls (11th floor) and chairs in the restaurant/bar area well worn smooth and discolored. I was surprised by the condition of this hotel.

There was nothing wrong with the room we stayed in. It wasn’t fancy at all, but it was definitely clean and was adequate for what we needed. The hotel restaurant, on the other hand, was not good at all. My fiancé and I sat ourselves and waited about 15 minutes for a waitress to come to take our orders. We each ordered a salad and an entree, and we ordered a starter of chips and salsa. We didn’t see the waitress again for about 15 minutes or more. A man, we assumed a manager, brought my salad, but didn’t bring my fiancé’s for close to another 15 minutes. We had to go to the bar and ask for silverware because no one brought us any. When we went to the bar to ask for silverware, there were three women behind the bar to take care of about 10 people sitting at the bar, but no one taking care of the guests seated at the tables. 10-15 minutes later, our entrees came out, and they were horrible. My fiance ordered the seared chicken, and I ordered the boneless pork chop. Her chicken was burnt, and I mean black burnt. My pork chop was so dry, I couldn’t eat it. My dinner came with 4 small potatoes, which were also overcooked, two of them looked like charcoal briquettes. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else to eat if you stay at this hotel.

Great location, but the rooms need updated. The restaurant was fantastic and accommodated our group of 20 for a party. Staff was amazing and food was delicious!
