The property has an excellent location, a very nice pool deck with an exceptionally good tiki bar and restaurant. The rooms are suites with a simple kitchenette and table, as well as a good seating area with couch, love seat, end & coffee tables and TV. The issues are cleanliness and maintenance. The floors of the rooms are dirty, the shower floor was stained and not regularly cleaned. I dusted the room myself and had a black towel when done. The "fitness ctr." was a joke. Dirty floors, dirty walls, uneven flooring that is a trip hazard and broken equipment. This is a property wide issue.

The food is great and at the bar Carmen, Able, and Jason who took our dinner order inside on Friday night were the best ever. The construction was Mon-Friday 9am-4pm was terrible noisy and you could feel the vibration under your feet!!!@Very Bad!!!

We arrived and check in was very quick and easy, but it was early, 4 pm on Friday after Thanksgiving. You can have you need at your finger tips or within a bicycle ride( less than .5 mile) Boat rental on site, tennis courts, Tiki Bar with music most nights overlooking very nice pool, Restaurant dining if you prefer, walk or ride bikes( provided) to get all your groceries and our kitchen was perfect for preparing meals. We did not have a stove/oven but they provide 2 outdoor grills across from the room we stayed in. Staff was pleasant! We brought in a boat and used the slips(daily fee $$$) but they had pontoon rentals there also. Or you can fish right off of their docks. We walked down board walk to a locals spot where they had entertainment also. A GREAT stay!!!

The property is nice. Plenty to do nearby, or Key West is an hour away and Islamorada is about 30 minutes. The pool, tiki bar and lobby are nicely maintained. The elevator was broken the whole week we were there so climbing to the 4th floor in 110 degree heat was not fun. The view is of the parking lot and for is, the dumpster. Had the weather been bearable, the cost of the amenities would have been worth it, but since it was too hot to ride bikes or use the beach gear, the “resort fee” was just free money for them. The room was clean. (Clean linens and bathroom are key for me.) The refrigerator was very small and there was no stove, only a microwave. Not even a toaster. Overall it was nice, but I felt a little underwhelmed.

A lot of construction going on but in most respectful way. Service was great and prices respectable for on site accommodations and restaurant. Great food and Included breakfast was fantastic. Not too crowded. Open to public at night which was fun. Would have liked a little better view but was ok especially considering the reasonable price.

They charge a resort fee per day for amenities that are not available. Be sure you are clear what you are paying for before you give them a credit card. They will charge you for nothing.

Room wooden floors were dirty. As in the bottom of our feet were black just walking from bedroom to shower. Many surfaces not clean. Most staff were really nice. Breakfast was pretty basic considering daily resort fee.

Overall, this place did not meet expectations from what is seen in the advertised photos. The room we stayed in needs a good deep cleaning as evident by the dirt on our feet when walking barefoot, dust in the room, dirty tables, and just overall smell. The internet service is horrible on the third level and we were told they would reset the router; it would work for a few minutes and then go out. This was problematic as we still had to work a bit and had to repeatedly reset the router only for it to go it again. This appears to be an ongoing problem on the third and fourth floors, so I am not certain as to why something isn't done to boost the signal and address it. On a positive note, the pool was nice, but the furniture cushions could use an upgrade as many cushions were stained and/or ripped. Additionally, the food was very good when we ordered dinner. The restaurant staff was amazing and very friendly. Overall, there were pros and cons when we stayed here.

Better cleaning, like actually washing floor, it was black dirty. Toothpaste inside drawers in bathroom. I rewashed drawers and took towel to wash floors and had to get wet wipes to wash down everything else.

The staff was very nice. The property was extremely rundown. The room was neat, but could have been cleaner. I don’t think the floor was ever washed as the bottom of our feet after walking on the floor were very dirty.

There is a tremendous amount of construction on and around the exterior of the property which makes for unpleasant views. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable, but the room smelled dingy.

Our room had a poor view! Our room was not ready when we arrived. They said they would call when it was ready. They never called. We had to check back and then still wait on it. When we did get a room the hardwood floor was still wet and very sticky. The floor was dirty! When getting in the shower, dirt would come off your foot into the shower. Our white socks became very dirty! Poor view from our balcony! The nice area was the tiki bar pool area. Bartenders very nice! Great pool. Good music! The restaurant area was closed. Had to order food from bar and sit outside or go to your room!

The property is in a great location and the rooms are large and clean. However, the walls are so thin you can hear the neighbors talking... And it's worse when they're loud at 4 AM. The wifi was also very weak if not completely dead... I will try another place next trip because I'd rather a smaller room that's quiet than a loud large room.

Remodeled and very nice. Just wish our balcony overlooked the water and nit a torn up parking lot. Room was great and staff was very friendly. Breakfast was very good

The main dislike was the A/C system in the rooms. In the first room we were given there was a buzzing noise from the in-room A/C unit. So we moved to a different room. The A/C worked briefly and then stopped. Maintenance got it working the next day but it stopped working again. So we spent both nights we stayed without A/C. I couldn't recommend the property for this reason.

Clean room, spacious, power outlet near coffee machine, good A/C (move the remote into the bedroom at night as it has the thermostat in it), had to get ice from the front desk, the included breakfast is sad, good parking, good pool and pool bar, better bar/restaurant is an easy walk along the dock. The bathroom was a good layout. Room had a separate living/dining area.

Our room was great. Spacious and comfortable. The breakfast by the pool each morning was very nice. Made to order eggs, toast, bagels, waffles, cereal, juices and coffee or tea… Central to everything in the Keys. Some ongoing renovations at the property. Great staff.

Overall a nice place to stay. Clean and King bed very comfortable. 1BR very spacious with sink, microwave and fridge. Tiki bar service was extremely slow due to new wait staff. I didn't have any hot water in the shower at first and it was late so rather than wait to have it fixed the next day or change rooms, I found the hot water temp controller adjustment in the living area closet and turned it up from 37C (body temp) to 43C so my wife could actually shower. Most would never figure this out. Noted this to the staff at checkout along with the slow bar service. They just said 'ok'. No, 'sorry for the inconvenience'. With the extra $72 in resort fees, you might think they'd take a little off, but these days great customer service is mostly non-existent. Would possibly stay here again, but likely look around for something else if staying more than 2 nights.

After coming here for a few years, I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Skip Jack. Some of the front desk new faces were not very customer service oriented. Restaurant food was overall awful! It's really a shame, considering this place is located in such convenient location. I doubt we will ever come back here again...

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Skipjack Resort. Javier was there to greet us when we arrived, and he was amazing! He was very friendly and more than happy to help and answer any questions that we had. I was a bit disappointed in the breakfast. Based on the "resort fee" being charged, I think the options were lacking. Enjoyed the pizza that we ordered from Blue Bistro. The music at night was very enjoyable. Our apartment accommodations were nice and had all that we needed for our stay.

The staff here was extremely nice and helpful. The only problem was that booking on hotels.com led me to believe that we were getting a large 2 bedroom suite. We were just given connecting hotel rooms. It also said there were kayaks on the property which there were not, the game room had been vandalized so it was closed, and the bikes they had to ride were restricted to the property, which is just a parking lot. The pool was very nice and the pool bar was fun. We had booked a three night stay but left after one. The manager did refund us for a night, which we very much appreciated. I think the main problem is that it is advertised as a resort when in reality it is just a hotel.

Skipjack's is a great place to stay in the Florida Key's. This is our second multi-night stay and we love it there. Rooms are clean and nice. The staff is friendly and they have good entertainment nightly. Skipjacks will be our first consideration when we stay in the Key's next.

Was there three days and not once had room service. They would knock before 9am, we are vacationing, not up so early. We told them come back later and never came, three days no clean towels.At night fire alarm went off at 9am and the hotel has no staff after 11pm. Waited over half hour for fire department to arrive at that time. And last aunts I’m the restrooms. Overall the hotel is too old.

This was a nice place to stay on the water in Marathon. Marathon isn’t entirely walkable as things are spread out, but from Skipjack you can walk along the boat slips to a bar and restaurant called Dockside which was really fun. Skipjack had live music, great bar food and great drinks. everyone was very friendly and helpful. I would totally stay here again.

Stayed 6 days a year ago, 10 days this year, and planning for more days next year. Great location in the middle keys to explore. Marathon has great local joints and close enough to Key West to take a day trip.

The property was ok but not what I thought it would be. The area around the hotel is under construction and it's not the cleanest area. It rained the night before and the only road to the property was completely flooded so we almost unable to get there. I would probably not stay there again.

Had a great stay at Skipjack, really lovely location for a quiet break. Fantastic staff, great food, great bar. Really relaxing spot and a great base for exploring Marathon and the surrounding area. We went by car, but it looked like plenty of places could be reached by bike. Nearby Sombrero beach is a fantastic spot with good facilities (parking costs are a little steep)

Good location. Close to beaches. Plenty of parking. Front desk was very cordial and responsive. Nice pool and bar and adequate breakfast. It was called a continental, but included hot items such as bacon, eggs and waffles as well.

Wasn't ocean front but was near the beach. Provided complimentary chairs, umbrella and cooler for the beach. Comfortable, clean and roomy accommodations. Very friendly staff. Even saw a manatee in the canal outside our room!

Live music by the pool bar every night, often crowded with locals. Blu Bistro Restaurant was delicious—we ate there twice during our stay. Continental breakfast offerings were made to order, quick and delicious. Clean, comfortable room. Staff was friendly and attentive.

SkipJack is a lovely property. Our room (and probably every room) had a bedroom with a second room; sitting area & kitchenette. Plenty of seating at the pool. The pool bar is a fun little spot. Breakfast was great! Made to order eggs! bacon, bagels, waffles, cereals etc also available. We would definitely stay there again

Check in was by 4pm and our room was not ready and nobody seemed to care. Breakfast was included and was awful. Cold eggs and bacon and a frozen English muffin! Much of the property’s perimeter was under construction or in disrepair. I wouldn’t stay here again if you paid me!!!

Room was clean and large. View was of parking lot. Restaurant on site not open for lunch. Dinner served outside only. Check in staff were kinda rude. Greeted us with “well I’ll have to see if your room is ready.” We were told housekeeping would not clean room or come in. If we wanted towels we could call them. Then they came in every day. Pool was beautiful but has a mildew issue on north side. They advertise internet, free parking, complimentary breakfast and then charge a resort fee to cover it. This is not really a resort. It’s an older motel with a great pool. Location was very good!
