Rodeway Inn at Lake Powell

Room had a nice view of the courtyard. There were restaurants within walking distance. Pool was okay. The room was not in the best shape. There was hole in the ceiling above the shower, toilet lid was glued together. The towels were really bad. They were literally falling apart. Some were grayish from over bleaching. They either need to purchase new ones or change their towel service. Breakfast was average.

An older place with no enough parking. But our stay was good.

I was disappointed that the pool was closed and there was no hot tub as was advertised.

First off, the bed was absolutely comfortable and sheets seemed clean. Didn’t use the Blanket. The hotel was priced right for what you got. I utilized the laundry facility which was wonderful to have onsite and again, the price was right! There was a mini fridge/freezer in the room but even though the light was on inside-it did not cool. The heater worked well and kept the large room warm. The shower water was so hot, we couldn’t even turn it down. Normally I like a hot shower, but this was scalding. Sink water for hand washing was hot and cold so we at least got some cold water to splash in with the cold. But we couldn’t fill the bath and let the water cool a bit because there was no bath plug. The room had an outside facing door which we wished would have had a secondary lock on it. When you’re positioned on the exterior of a hotel it’s a nice security blanket. Also, the curtain over the window left about a 5 inch visible opening to outside or looking in to the room. We did not go down for the breakfast since we had a full day of plans and left before the 7am opening. There are several places to eat nearby and a grocery store close as well which was convenient. Pool would have been nice to use but it was snowing and closed for the season so cannot comment on that. The two interactions we had with staff were good. They answered our questions about laundry and check in. All things considering we didn’t expect much for what we paid. Pleasantly surprised by the bed comfort.

We had to check in via a machine in the lobby. The person it was connected to could not be understood so we had to read the screen. It took about 4 times as long to check in as it would have if there was a person at the desk. For this reason and the lack of parking we would not recommend this property.

We chose the Rodeway Inn for 1 night in Page because it was well located, convenient and offered everything that was important to us. Our room was spacious, had two comfortable queen beds, a TV, a large refrigerator and a table and chair. The sink was outside the bathroom with a large mirror and the shower and toilet were inside the bathroom. Everything was clean and worked. It's just a bit outdated. There were also enough sockets and the WIFI worked very well. The pool area was in the middle of the hotel courtyard and had some loungers and towels. We spent two hours relaxing here in the evening. The free breakfast is available from 06:30-09:30. There was yogurt, waffles, toast, peanut butter, cream cheese, jam, cornflakes, coffee and juices. You could sit inside or outside. There was plenty of free parking in front of the hotel rooms. We cannot understand the less good reviews. A typical American motel. The motel offers very good value for money and we were very satisfied.

Dated room but clean. Bed was firm but comfortable. My big complaint was the towels which were very old, small size and literally grey with age. Breakfast was sparse. It works if you just need a place to crash. Nice pool and grocery store across the street.

Self check in only via a fast food style ordering screen. Very weird warnings upon check in. Long list of rules and fees for everything. Long line to check in, hotel staff on the other end of screen speaks very loudly with personal information. Everyone in the lobby upon check in will know your name, car, make, model, where from, and your exact room number and location to park. Not safe for female or solo travelers. No pool despite advertising one. Ac and fridge were unplugged upon check in so room was grossly hot and fridge unusable. Issued two key cards, only one worked. Card stopped working at 7am the following morning, and of course no hotel staff on site to get help. No way to get extra towels or toiletries. This entire operation seemed like someone asked AI or ChatGPT on how to design the cheapest way to operate a hotel. It’s in Page, it’s a place to shower, use the restroom and get rest between hikes. It works for that, but not by much. Regardless of what amenities they advertise, I would not believe them. They also have a bunch of signs mentioning that they are not a real or participating member of the Choice Cards rewards program. Seems odd, maybe a franchise or something, but not at all like any other corporate Rodeway Inn’s we’ve ever stayed at.

Chairs and tables outside to sit and enjoy the property. Very friendly at check-in. Nice breakfast area.

No elevator

To check in you talk to a guy in a computer screen. They are watching you even eat the breakfast they offer. The breakfast was bread for toast or vanilla yogurt. The room we had the bathroom floor had an inch of dirt coming out from the wall. the door was splitting apart on the bottom of it. When you stepped out of the bathroom the floor had a rotten spot under the carpet. We didn’t sleep with the bed spread . In the morning the maids pulled sheets from other rooms but you didn’t see one bedspread pulled to be washed. I would say the dude that owns it needs to get off his computer and come take care of his property, because it’s not being taken care of properly.

Bed bugs. Had many bed bug bites after sleeping. Not clean.

Roaches

This was a wonderful place to stay. Older hotel, but extremely clean.

It was dingy, the curtain rod broke, and the floor was dirty and had bubbles.

The room itself was pretty disgusting. We typically stay at 2 star and 3 star hotels. This was the worst. There was mold growing behind the toilet in a scale that was large enough for us to smell. The bathtub was rusted and had mold growing in it. The door was breaking apart and the carpet was gross. We found a cockroach in the bathroom. On top of everything, we book the room for two nights and housekeeping knocked on our door super early the first night and asked why we hadn’t gotten ready to check out. Worst stay

This property is infested with bed bugs! I got bit at least 30 times. Terrible dont stay unless you enjoy BED BUGS!!!

The room was very dirty The bathtub had blood stains , when we checked in and there was water dripping from the sink and shower all night House keeping cud not remove the blood stains from the tub. We had to put a towel over it and then take a shower

We checked in and they gave us a room right next to the highway. We go in the room and it is very old and dirty. When we shut the door lots of light came from around the door and the pad lock was broke so couldn’t lock the door. The shower was not in good condition so not very appealing but I got in to take a shower and looked down and there was a large batch of long black hair. Not sure where that came fro , either when I lowered the shower curtain or from my feet off the floor. GROSS!!! I’m trying to get a refund because we checked out and if not a refund I was willing to pay for another hotel because this one is nasty.

Old and a bit worn down. Clean though. Old ac units was noisy, bathroom and shower in bad shape. No amenities to speak of. We paid way too much money when we booked four months in advance. This is a $75/nt value. Would not recommend.

Very worn and used room, bathtub nicked up (not exactly dirty) not enough plugs to charge things and the ones they did have were super loose. It was close to shops and restaurants.

It was a nice property and the room was very spacious. The only thing to note is that the TV options are limited; no online streaming available: Netflix, HBO, Hulu, etc. Only commercial TV available.

Let’s be fair, for a night sleep while you travel should be ok, for a longer stay definitely is not unless you’re n a budget, as many other people we got hook with the pictures posted and a decent reviews, It looks like the place got a face lift but also seems loke they re-use a lots of the old furniture and doors, dirty towels, stain carpets, a/c unit to noisy, door won’t close correctly, again if you’re in a budget this place is good

No parking spaces and WiFi is not working.

I had a ground floor room in the northeast wing. At night, several floodlights facing down east into the pool area were too many, too bright, and too bluish, such that in the middle of the night I woke up thinking it was dawn, so much it seemed like natural light peaking from the sides of the drawn curtains, but it was the lights. Looking out, it felt like being in a stadium on game day. The motel should at least replace or filter the lights to be yellowish, unmistakably artificial, so it doesn't interrupt the sleep cycle. Aside from this, the room itself was large and adequate and included a desk and a micro fridge.

Check in was easy. Lost my room key and no one was available at the front desk. I called the phone number and rang the doorbell and no one helped me. Had to buy another hotel room close by because they didn’t have staff.

The first room we got into, which was room 115, the carpet was absolutely filthy, the room didn’t look like it had been cleaned. Change rooms second room was decent to mediocre. After 7 o’clock they have no one at the front desk you have to do a video chat. Had an extremely difficult time with my reservation, trying to keep the same room for the second night if I could cancel, I would but since I booked through you guys, I can’t. Would never stay here again.

Even though the room was clean, comfortable, and quiet I will not stay here again or at any Rodeway Inn because check-in was maddening. We arrived tired and ready to rest at 9:30 pm but weren’t checked in for 30 minutes because there were several people ahead of us - and all of us dealing with a remote person on a video screen. That’s right - no human desk clerk, just a video screen. Thirty minutes in line is enough to make sure I never use Rodeway Inn again. By the way, this is only the third time I’ve written a review for anything and the only negative review I’ve written.

Check-in was over a video call with someone from India. Will not book with them again.

We were wanting to see the Grand Canyon and unknowingly booked a room. When we arrived and unpacked we found out that the North Canyon was closed. The people at the hotel were gracious enough to understand the situation and not charge us. They were friendly and the room was clean.

Do not stay here. Terrible check in experience. No interest. Bad communication. Rude. The room was really scruffy. Dirty carpets. Patio door hanging off the hinges. Was insecure. Complained. Nothing was done. We were told fully booked, this was just because they couldn't be bothered to move us. The place had loads of empty rooms for the duration of our stay. Parking was round the back and door to room around the back. Which meant having to walk around street to get to the lobby. Very odd layout. Would not recommend staying here. Cockroaches on patio. Room smelled, air conditioning old and clanky. The room needs a whole upgrade. Walking distance to shops and restaurant. That was the only positive.

We got there after 9 and there was no person to check us in. It was a video check in. I could barely understand the woman on the video chat and it took about 10 mins just for me to check in and 15 mins waiting for the other 2 people in front of me. Very ridiculous way to check in. Every thing else was fine.

We enjoy the amount of service at the hotel and the helpfulness.

Only complaint I have is with check-in…the security deposit part. Originally the clerk told me $100 incidental needed n then came back to pay a she increased it to $250. I asked why a she couldn’t give me a legit reason for the increase.

The property looked a bit run down. It's located next to a gas station I think in the middle of town so it was close to antelope canyon and horseshoe bend which is what we were going to see. I had a few concerns about the safety of the location as well.

Older motel in the heart of Page that has been maintained well. Many non-chain and chain dining options within feet of the property. Full laundromat about a 1/2 block away. For groceries a Safeway market is across the street. Area is quiet and very walkable.

Check in was quick, check out even faster. Convenient location close to groceries, coffee & restaurants. Motel is older but the rooms met our needs.

It's conveniently located in Lake Powell area.

Roadway is an older motel not in great condition but the room was clean and the breakfast was good considering the price. The Mongolian Grill attached to the hotel was delicious! The restaurant makes the stay!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast had great waffles. The room was clean. Overall I found it to be a great deal for the price. The only con was inconsistent hot water in the shower.

Our shower did not get hot. We asked someone at the desk to come fix it and they never did. It is clean, but outdated. Breakfast for $10 was only waffles, bread, and cereal.

Do not stay here! Everything was grimmy and dirty from the trash all over the parking area outside our room to the mold and stains in the dirty bathroom. We couldn’t sleep most of the night just did not feel comfortable the front desk clerk charged us twice and just said “call Expedia”. The breakfast consisted of one waffle iron for 20 people, cereal and cheap bread. Very regrettable stay.

Breakfast is poor....cheap carbs with no protein. This place clearly exercises an aggressive approach to check-in/check-out. Though check-out is 10 am, and I needed to catch up on sleep because the prior day I had had a very long travel day, housekeeping started banging on my door between 8 and 9. And even though I responded, "I'm still in here" she persisted in banging again every 15 minutes. No sleeping in.

Update 2/23/25: BREAKFAST IS NO LONGER FREE, despite Google Maps' false claims, along with the sign on the door to the lobby indicating breakfast hours and on the room door (no exceptions are mentioned on either). The hotel is under new ownership, and check-in is now via a huge kiosk with a live person in an unclear location, which feels unnecessary and may explain the breakfast charge. The removal of the complimentary hot breakfast, previously very well enjoyed, is a significant downgrade. I was informed that booking through an unspecified site other than Expedia might offer breakfast, but I found no mention of it on Choice Hotels, the overall management company for this motel. Onsite breakfast is unavailable for purchase, and the grab-and-go option appears minimal. This disappointing change has led to a rating adjustment. I stayed here in November 2024, and the breakfast was excellent then. While other aspects remain unchanged, I will seek alternative accommodations due to concerns about further downgrades under the new ownership and the ineffective kiosk check-in process.
