The beds were clean and somewhat comfortable but the bathroom was filthy. The floor had visible dirt on it and there was already something in the trash can when I first went into the room. The floor looks like it hasn’t been swept or mopped in days. The refrigerator and microwave are from the late 70’s maybe early 80’s and with the increase in prices for these rooms everything should be a bit more updated.

Stayed here for the Pink Concert downtown. It was a little further than we had hoped, but it was still totally fine. We ubered to and from the hotel to downtown by USC campus. It was clean, the staff were super friendly. Beds were comfy and the pillows were actually good; and 4 per bed. Medium fridge and microwave in the room which were great. The towels were a bit thin, and not much shampoo or lotion; just tiny little bit. Didn't hear anyone else in the hotel, felt safe to leave my car as well. They do serve waffles etc, but we were too late getting up to try them. Seemed clean and fine. Had coffee out all day. Easy and friendly check in. I would stay there again.

Everything was clean check in customer service was great. The lady at the front desk really nice. The room was clean. The pillows is basically the only reason why they didn’t get five stars. I feel if I stay in a hotel and it’s just mainly to spend the night and get rest that the pillows should be a lot better ten lumps

Everytime I come to Columbia I stay at this hotel. Its definitely not the best, but the staff has always been nice, and give good cs. This last stay on Saturday 10/21 was a huge disappointment! It was 1hr past the deadline to change my reservation, and the staff refused to work me! My room had a musty odor, the AC did not work, my son found dirty socks behind the chair, there was a bug carcass on the wall next to the tv, and there was a lizard in my bath tub! I've been loyal to this crappy place for yrs, and the 1st time I needed them to go a little above and beyond for me they refused! Well they just lost a good, loyal customer, because the next time I stay in Columbia SC, It won't be at the Best Western Executive Inn Suites!

The hotel was very nice overall. The rooms, televisions, furniture, etc.. were updated and clean. My only complaint is the smoke detectors were easily set off from the shower steam. The fire alarms went off three times during my visit (with hotel staff having to come into my room two of those times) in the middle of me showering. It was very inconvenient that the detectors were so sensitive. I also wish there were more options for the continental breakfast. The days that I went, it was the same: sausage, eggs, and biscuits (as the hot options) along with your typical options such as yogurt, cereal, waffles, fruit, etc... It was a great hotel. I would stay again but they have to get those smoke detectors fixed. The staff was also friendly and flexible in making accommodations for the room.

This was one of the worst experiences I have had. We were charged $299 per night. I expected prices to be slightly inflated due to Parent's Weekend at USC, but this place was terrible. Outside of the delightful woman who checked us in, it was downhill from there. 1. TV did not work, it would freeze up constantly 2. The toilet made an extremely loud noise after flushing. (They did fix this). 3. There was no conditioner in the room. I asked for some and they said they were out. 4. The fire alarm went off because of steam from the shower. This happened at 6:30 in the morning when other guests were sleeping. I asked why this would happen and they said it was very rare (we heard them going off in several other rooms) 5. The shower drained very slowly so there was and inch or 2 of water 6. The AC did not keep up.

The night staff was very unfriendly. If it wouldn't have been so late, I would've gone elsewhere just because of his lack of manners. He acted very inconvenienced that we were even there. The room was comfortable, and clean enough. The front desk staff the following morning when we checked out was much nicer.

Be clear, my credit card was charged days ago and then I was denied check in when we arrived. Also your manager refused to refund my money, even though she didn't let me check it. I find it amusing that in 57 years the only hotel that has ever refused to let me check in was a Best Western. My mission now is to shift all stays with all of my employees to Holiday Inn Express and go to extraordinary lengths to 'encourage' Hotels.com and Best Western to rectify this situation. A report has been filed with my credit card provider and we will follow with a case with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the FTC early next week. This has been an extremely poor experience all the way around.

The young lady at the front desk was TERRIBLE. She had an attitude, and acted like she HATED her job, and was put out at having to put down her phone and check customers in and out. The hotel was great otherwise, but I specifically DID NOT come back the next day because the front desk employee (a young black woman) had such a bad attitude. Get a front desk person that is good with people. Friendly and nice. (NOT what you have now.)

I came to this hotel yesterday with my fiancé. Let me first start off by saying, the young woman at the front counter was very rude & gave us false information. So before we booked the room, we called ahead of time to ask if there was any extra fees upon checking in like most hotels do & she said "no just the taxes bringing it to just $119". So when we arrived she swiped my fiancé card twice and then said it will be an extra $100 fee. We told her she said nothing about that over the phone she simply ignored us & his money was taken from his account. And we had Expedia explain to management about the situation & we were not given a refund nor allowed to stay. This hotel pretty much robbed us of $119. Be careful coming here. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Son plays ball for USC and we needed a place for this past weekend. Excellent front desk staff. Very accommodating. Got into town early and were allowed access to our room early. Breakfast was good. Room was clean, bed a bit on the lower end but for the price, we slept just fine. Will definitely return
