This hotel is beautiful, in the Bayview neighborhood that is within walking distance to many areas of Petoskey. What is doesn’t have compared to newer traditional hotels (parking lot, elevator, central AC), it makes up for with older charm and a convenient setting.

I have never stayed at a quieter hotel. It was lovely. The staff was so pleasant and helpful. The lack of an elevator was troublesome as we were on the third floor. Parking on the street was inconvenient.

The downside: poor wi-fi and thin walls. But the upside more than made up for it. The Inn is so beautiful and makes a standard hotel seem totally devoid of ambiance. If you like character in a building, you'll love the Terrace Inn. The lobby and dining room are so lovely. The room was small but served our needs fine. The breakfast included was amazing! The hot food was great and there were plenty of other options as well. Service was friendly and good. Don't let the parking scare you, although you might have to walk half a block. The neighborhood is interesting in the best way and we enjoyed walking around. We stayed on the third floor and be warned that there is no elevator. I definitely recommend the Terrace Inn and will stay there again if in Petoskey.

Despite atrocious weather, we had a good time during our short fall trip to Petoskey. The inn is comfortable, clean and charming. My rather short wife appreciated the stepstool to get into the high bed! Really good breakfast, too. Only real complaint was the wi-fi was poor in our room on the 3rd floor; I had to take my iPad to the lobby to be able to access most of the websites. But overall, we are very pleased with the Terrace Inn and will likely return in the future.

A very quaint property snuggled into the Bay View neighborhood. Street parking is available, but challenging during ‘dining’ hours. The room was cozy. And, where we all need to unplug a bit, the WiFi was challenging at times. The restaurant is cute and the beverages are quite tasty. Attentive staff and friendly. I would certainly come again!

The Terrace Inn has a beautiful terrace that you can sit at and look at the neighborhood and the bay. The restaurant has very good food and attentive service staff. It was an enjoyable stay.

It is an old hotel and the second floor hall is rolling and one side of our room was slanted and made it difficult to walk around the bed. Needs remodeling and patchwork of extension cords in room used to add more outlets. Cable difficult to use. One pillow case was clean, but had very small washed out bloodspots. We will not stay there agai.

Good value for historic hotel. Restaurant food is great and priced that way; would recommend the wagyu steak. Sheet were clearly laundered but had several significant stains on them; no trouble getting new ones from front desk but had to change them out ourselves. Breakfast was much better than average hotel breakfast.

Very disapointed - Despite the help given by your maintenance guy the TV was totally useless... never could get the live channels to work. Instructions in the room were totally useless. Carpet in our room was absolutely disgusting. Big stains! The room was in need of some sprucing up. Calking between the sink and the was was dirty and/or moldy. Mirror in the bath has flaws in the glass. Shower head it only suitable for a Child. I am 6' tall and the shower head was about mid chest. This could be very very easily resolved. Carpet in the entry to the hotel is badly worn and the top of the stairs is separated. Overall it just seems that attention to the condition of the property of the hotel is being ignored. Also... we were told that there was an included breakfast in the morning. This was very poorly communicated. What you server is a continental breakfast. We were expecting breakfast which is what we were told. Not adding one simple word set an incorrect expectation.

If you like a quaint historic inn this place is for you. If you need modern then maybe not. The room and bathroom were very small. Bed was poor. Loved the hot breakfast in the dining room and the residential neighborhood.

We have stayed here many times. We did not like our room this time, particularly because the sink was not in the bathroom and was directly next to one of the twin beds. We also did not like having to carry heavy luggage up two flights. We are not young. The hotel has done away with a mini fridge in the hallway on all floors. It was convenient being able to get my half & half for a very early morning cup of coffee. I am an early riser. There is now only one fridge, which is on one floor below the first floor. Our room was on the 2nd floor, so three flights to get my half & half. I was going to put some in a thermos to keep in our room. When I went down to get it, someone had taken it, a whole carton, unopened. We had it in a ZipLoc bag with our name on it. We splurge on staying here, and the hot breakfast was the dealmaker. Since our last stay here, it has been downgraded to a continental breakfast. I have to point out that staff offered to make me scrambled eggs, which I took her up on. I am vegetarian, and there was bacon in one cold dish and lunch meat was available.

Very classic building. Public spaces were excellent. Our room had a severe slant in the floor. I have trouble with my balance. It was difficult to move around (room 218). I don't know how the other rooms are?

It's a beautiful old building, but there are some issues. The room that we were in is in desperate need of a refresh. Plaster was showing through in the bathroom. The water pressure would drop out completely while taking a shower. There is no designated parking and we once had to park a block and a half away. The housekeeping staff (which appears to be one guy named Joe) couldn't get to our room for a refresh, even though we put the tag out all day long. Some positives and some negatives. The on-site restaurant is excellent, if you have reservations ahead.

What a grand place, it was like being back in time, historical,peaceful, romantic, picturesque, uplifting, illuminating,I wish I could of lived back then! The people who worked there were gracious, helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. I can't wait to go back!!!

Loved my stay, will be back. Great location, Belinda doing check-in at the front desk was very kind and accommodating even though there was a rooming capacity issue. She served breakfast the next day and it is obvious she loves her job, very friendly and made us feel welcome. The breakfast burritos at the breakfast Buffet were delicious and the garlic roasted potatoes tasted very fresh homemade and were very good. Very comfortable beds, very clean adorable rooms, very nice vibe. Relaxing porch with a Lakeview across the street. Can’t wait to return thank you!

The main downside was that the staff couldn't get the TV working properly in our room. A very diligent effort was made to correct the problem but to no avail. The owner let us use another room to watch TV in to watch a baseball game. However, because of a rain delay of the game, it was switched to another network. After several attempts to get it to the right channel, I gave up and returned to my room. Other than that we had a very nice stay.

This place is truly a local gem! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the entire stay feel warm and comfortable. I absolutely loved my time here and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

I was double billed for two rooms and had only reserved one. Terrace Inn refused to address the issue. I arrived at the Inn shortly after 9 pm to find no clerk or staff on duty at the desk and an envelope on the desk with my name on it. It contained keys to two rooms. I told the only employee I could find (a casually dressed man who said he was security) and explained I had only reserved one room. I never entered the second room. The next morning the lady at the desk claimed I should have raised the issue the previous night despite the fact that no one was on duty when I arrived. The Inn is lovely but I was robbed by staff.

The Terrace Inn is one of the jewels of northern MI. Everyone on staff is helpful and cheery. The restaurant is excellent. Every hour, one finds another reason to be glad one chose to be there. I'll be back next year 😌

This is our 2nd stay at the Terrace Inn and we stayed for 3 nights this time—we love historic hotels and this one does not disappoint. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant is wonderful, make sure to have the whitefish! Sitting on the front porch is great and relaxing. The only slight disappointment is breakfast, choices are limited and it doesn’t vary much…while we were there, no hot choices were available. But don’t let that stop you, this place is terrific!

Historic Inn that comes with some quirks that make it charming. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The 1911 restaurant was wonderful. Fine dining in a beautiful setting. The rooms are a little small, but expected in an inn of this type. Book a suite if you need more space. The mattress in our first room was too soft for us, but we were relocating to another room and had a wonderful stay.
