L.A. Sky Boutique Hotel

Their website is nothing like the condition of the hotel. It shows a nice cocktail bar which I found out hasn’t been open since Covid. The condition of the lobby area is quite shabby. They leave a large yellow trolley with all of their linens in the sitting area all the time. They had a workout room that holds old lamps and whatever they are not using in the various rooms. Tbe rooms are very dark since the windows only open to their courtyard no outside facing windows. But the rooms were clean, bedding was adequate. Not a place I would ever consider in the future.

This place is an old motel, where they threw a tent over the open area and some outdoor patio furniture and called it a "Hotel". The staff was amazing and completely ensured that the experience was not as much of a crap shoot as it could have been. The room itself was small but comfy, spend the extra 20$ on a larger room. Parking is a nightmare , the limited lot in the back is a PITA to get in and out of, spots fill up quick but the staff will find you a solution (Afterall, you pay 20$ for each night for the parking spot!) Overall, it is an OK place in a central area. Getting around there is a pain and you dont really want to go walking after dark. On the flip side, it is right between santa monica and beverly hills, so location is the reason to stay there. Overall, would not stay again, but again, the staff were awesome, again thanks to them for making sure it was not as bad as it could have been. Btw, the "Gym" was used as a storage space. The restaurant and bar that was advertised, well ... i don't think it existed. There was a little bar that was ran by the same person running the front desk.

Funky hotel in Westwood. The room was comfortable, but was mosquito-infested. There were the three I killed and marks on the walls resulting from the hunting of previous guests. Note also that parking is limited in their lot.

The room was nicely decorated and comfortable. The bathroom could use a towel rod and more sink space (there's about a four-inch level area before it starts to slope down to the basin -- nice looking but not very functional. I wish there were a mirror in the bedroom (not just the bathroom -- even if it were on the inside of the wardrobe door. Desk lighting could be better (pretty hard to read there). Everyone talks about parking, and it is indeed a tight lot. Even more annoying is that apparently you need to pre-book a space or you're out of luck -- this should be indicated on the website as "Limited parking available"; the current "parking available" declaration is misleading. As a woman traveling alone, I was dismayed to be told my option was to go park on the street (but I appreciate the desk clerk who came up with a solution).

Our room was so small, dirty, including the shower baseboards we had an electrical cover missing and only one chair. The bathroom had exactly 2 towels and one floor mat and one washcloth. There was no real place to send anything in the bathroom. There was no microwave or refrigerator in the room if you wanted to store something you had to use a community refrigerator out in the reception area along with the microwave. Our neighbor up above was quite loud but that’s not the fault of the hotel. We will never be staying here again the bed was very uncomfortable you could tell that everybody slept in the same hole in the bed. I would like to post pictures but this doesn’t allow me to.

This is not a nice hotel. No mention of parking fee on Expedia Site, and yet they proceeded to charge me for parking, in an open lot that has no business charging for parking. Moreover, they have no elevator and the Jerry rigged air conditioner did not work properly! Bad experience!

Everything is good except that they have limited parking space that you have to pay $20. If you’re not lucky enough to have a spot you will have to park in the street.

It was a great price for West LA in a good location. Hotel was very clean and quiet. Reasonable parking available. No elevator. Kind and helpful staff. No frills.

Was an absolute pleasure. Front desk was extremely kind and even though the parking lot was full there was parking in front of the hotel and the man at the front desk put money in the meter in case I didn’t wake up in time. Would recommend

This is a nice place to stay. Lots of drawbacks. If the hotel was full there would be no parking at all. There is no breakfast at the hotel but there is a great place 4 blocks away. They charge $20.00 per night to park. I think that if they lowered the price for the hotel they would fill more rooms. When we stayed there was only about 5 rooms filled with guest. They need to find a way to get more guest to stay. I think that some type of breakfast would help. Even the lowcost hotels have breakfast.

The room we had was nice the bathroom was pinned of maintenance and should be properly fixed by maintenance room 10- no guest shook have to look at or be subject to mold or mildew around tub/ shower area and the hotel need to provide a drain plug to cover hole in the tub or. Install a drain guard for the tub. The caulking of the bathroom should be up to par for a more polished and professional look. Aspects of the bathroom sucked, The room was nice and clean.

Staff was helpful. The room was old, dirty, shower was terrible, the air conditioner was leaking water. Our room had no body mirror behind the door. It was broken and looked so ghetto. Room was so bad that we didn't want to sleep in the sheets. I woke up with many bug bites. Checked the mattress for bedbugs. Will not return.

We walked in the room and saw stains on the curtains, a dirty towel in the bathroom and a messy room. It did not smell good.

This was our 2nd time staying here. We really like this place, it's our go-to when we need to stay in West LA. Very clean, friendly staff, reasonably priced, comfortable rooms, and a nice courtyard. We'll be back. :)

The air conditioning didn't work, and it makes a horrible noise that didn't allow us to rest, it's not as it seems in photos...

Thin walls but nice stay overall

The room where I slept had a problem with the cooling system so the hotel installed a mobil one but really noisy !!!

First of all, this place is a great value. That said, the property is funky. The rooms do not have exterior windows but open onto a shared courtyard that's sort of open to the sky and has fluorescent lighting. The furniture and decor seem to be that glam look that was popular around 2012-2015 and is ok. I had a problem with the air conditioner in my room smelling of mildew so they were kind enough to switch me to another room the second night. That room had a portable air conditioner because the in-room one was broken. The toilet ran constantly but the noise from the portable air conditioner drowned it out. The place is clean, but just needs some maintenance and TLC. I found the front desk staff super friendly and cool. The parking is free and the parking lot is protected and monitored via security cameras. It's located in a part of Westwood that is awaiting renewal. I think if you are very budget-conscious, this is not a bad spot.

Really nice at check in. Cute property clean room but the bed was terrible. Mattress was shot and bed creaked with any movement.

The common areas are modern and chic. The gentleman greeting us at the front desk was very nice and helpful. The room was comfortable, but small and effectively windowless; the one window opens to the interior common area. So, you're likely to need to keep the curtains drawn. The room had a closet, but no surface other than the desk & desk chair to lay out your stuff, or put luggage. There was a single luggage caddy, but that left the 2nd piece of luggage on the floor, with your non-hanging clothes also on the floor.

All in all, given the area, this was an inexpensive hotel to stay at. The hotel lives up to the "boutique' in its name. Blink and you miss it. Small and quaint. Can be a bit noisy when you hear water from other rooms going through the pipes. One other note is that the window faces onto the interior courtyard of the hotel not the outside. You can't leave the blind open to get any natural light lest you want anyone walking by to see into your room.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The walls are paper thin and it was so noisy that I felt like I didn’t sleep all week. The hotel itself was okay. It’s old and has been updated and maintained but I would not stay here again. We could hear the other guests through the walls and in the hallway and make out every word they said. When the doors close in the hallway, the air and pressure change caused our door to open and close and banged every time someone else open or closed their door. Spend the extra money and don’t stay here.

Wouldn’t refund my stay even due to a hurricane. Customer service is non existent. Been communicating with the property since I booked it (literally 5 mins after booking) was told it would be taken care of by the next day. No follow up. I contacted Expedia and they said it had been past 24 hrs. (It had not). Then they said only due to extenuating circumstances. A hurricane isn’t extenuating according to Ben the manager.

This was an amazing stay!! The manager was SOOO nice and friendly, and the lady that with the beautiful accent, SHE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! SUPER SIPER SWEET AND VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL... I WILL BE FOR SURE VOMI G BACK HERE IF EVER IN LA AGAIN!! THANK YOU..

I took a chance and booked this last minute as I wanted somewhere convenient to Westwood. It ended up being perfect for that-the room and common areas were great and the staff were awesome and friendly. Special shout out to Andrea she was super helpful and friendly as was her colleague the day before. And then I just get out and walk to places in Westwood. It’s smaller with fewer rooms so more cozy and personalized experience. I’m definitely coming back, thanks guys!

Check-in was painfully slow. Only one desk agent and the group before us was having some sort of issue because it was a large group. Desk agent was very nice and apologized for the delay. The property is quirky, but cute, parking lot is really small. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. The guest rooms are in serious need of a renovation. Rust on pipes under sink, dated tile and bathroom fixtures. Decor seemed dated but decent. Fridge in room. AC unit is a wall mount, again, needs to be updated but it did the job. We only needed to stay one night, had an appointment at UCLA Medical Center the following day. The little courtyard, lobby, and public areas were super cute, so we were a bit bummed we didn’t have more time to enjoy them. Overall, it’s a decent hotel. Far better than many other properties in the same 2 or 3-star/middle priced range. Would stay here again, but maybe lower our expectations of what we normally think of as a “boutique hotel”. I’d call this a very nice “M”otel.

As we were checking in, they tried to charge us an extra fee for our dog that was almost as much as our entire stay. This was not disclosed when we prepaid thru Expedia. We didn’t stay due to this deceptive practice and we would like a refund.

The customer service was excellent—they went above and beyond during both shifts. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to care about making my stay comfortable. Although the area around the hotel isn’t the most upscale, I felt very safe walking around—even at night. As a woman traveling alone, that really mattered to me. Plus, the hotel is conveniently located right next to a bus stop, and the buses take you to different parts of UCLA, which made getting around super easy. The room itself was very small—a single room with no luxury—but it was clean, quiet, and surprisingly comfortable. If you’re not looking for anything fancy and just need a solid place to stay near UCLA, this hotel definitely does the job

Paid $20 for parking in an empty lot in the back, this was not advertised. Staff was nice. The room was fine but not comfortable. Decor is random. The surrounding area is not safe after dark by foot. Fine for a night but won’t be returning.

Great location - walkable and nearby bus stops. Good eats 2-3 blocks away.

We really liked this hotel. It is affordable for the location which is excellent. Minutes from Beverly Hills, UCLA, and the beach. The rooms are comfy, clean, and spacious. While clean, the rooms have some quirks, like unfinished repairs in the bathroom. These are not things that would keep me from staying again. The service was excellent and the staff was very helpful. When I mentioned that I wished there was a fridge in the room, they offered to put one in our room. Parking cost is reasonable compared to most hotels in the area. Considering the hotel has an open air courtyard, the noise wasn’t bad at all. The AC unit works well and is quiet. The bed was comfy! My only small critique is that there is documentation in the room that has out of date info for the hotel (regarding coffee availability in the lobby and local restaurants). But this is so not a big deal considering this little gem of a hotel. Highly recommend!

I was very surprised of how clean and comfortable it was for a good night sleep. The recommendation to a cafe nearby and how the receptionist took her time to explain to me where to go and park in Beverly Hills cafe was very helpful. Parking was easy at the hotel as well. Staff was very nice.

It had so much character!! Far beyond the Expedia website. It was so inviting!! Loved it!! Truly a great experience!! Evening staff person was outstanding!! He gave us info about a really cool diner within walking distance.

The hotel was very cute and quaint. I loved the couryard. It made it feel so tranquil. I only stayed 1 night, but wish I could have stayed longer. The room was clean with modern decor. Room had air conditioning unit, fridge, and coffee machine.The location was perfect, because we were within walking distance to restaurants and cafe. And if you didn't want to walk to those options, there are plenty of other options to drive to within a 10-minute radius.
