Suite Stay - Talladega

Room was ok but they are in the middle of renovation and there was no one chair or table.

The motel is undergoing some renovations that should be disclosed during booking. My suggestion would be to renovate a section at a time instead of dispersed room repairs among guest rooms. Walkways with discarded room materials, trash. cigarette butts, even old car tires in the breezeways and with the ice machine.(which was out in a run down shed). It appears that there are people living in the motel. Only once in 5 days did I get clean towels without having to go to the front desk (which was unmanned in the evening, It had a number to call if you wanted to speak to someone.) Trash was emptied once but there was an overfilled trash can 10 feet from my room door. Almost every electrical device in the room was plugged in to a terminal strip. I worried about it catching on fire every time I turned something on. On a positive note, the elderly lady at the front desk was very nice and when it rained the room didn't leak. I do not know how the place stays in business but that won't concern me. I would rather sleep in my car than waste another dollar there.

Hotel has a lot of age on it and needs a lot of repairs. Room was ok great ac unit but rooms need to be upgraded.

We booked this for 4 nights while attending the racing at Talladega. We had a superior room with the jacuzzi bath, Yes, the decor is quite tired, but it was cleaned regularly and the shower pressure was amazing. We knew what to expect when booking and it was absolutely fine for our needs.

First of all you have to check in & out at a “window”, the refrigerator & toilet made noise ALL night. The entire property need to be renovated inside & out. I was suppose to stay the weekend but I checked out early Saturday morning and went to a hotel in Lincoln. Cheaper isn’t always better.

The rooms were filthy with roaches and bed bugs. They advertised free breakfast and guests can't access the lobby. You have to conduct business through a window outside. This is the worst motel ever. THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN! I was charged one night on 2 rooms and I want a full refund.

Room was clean. Bed was Comfortable. They where all kind and helpful. They where undergoing some remodeling. But doing there best to make everyone comfortable.

The room was clean, but the building was run down. There was no coffee pot in the room. The shower did not want totally right. The room smelled like smoke. The carpet had Burnt spots and stans in it.

Budget Inn, for our trip proximity to speedway was important. Mrs. Barnes is a wonderful asset to the property offering charming hospitality. It does not overstate; it is a budget hotel. Decor / furnishings are old but neat. Fridge & microwave worked fine. Smoke alarm was going off due to dead battery and it was fixed within 10 minutes by staff. Pool and lounge were closed but that was not important to our group.

Got to the motel to find that they were remodeling. Had to wait for a room to be ready. Doors were wide open for workers so bugs could crawl right in, and air conditioners were maximum with the doors wide open. Finally got into a room, but having dealt with construction/real estate before it was clear that no final punch list was done and they were just trying to get people in the rooms for the race, because the room was missing base boards, door jams, paint on the floors, no final cleaning done before customers came in. Microwave was plugged in, but it was a good thing we looked before turning it on, because it had the vent, books, etc. inside it, meaning it had metal sitting inside the microwave, so that was a fire hazard. We didn't require our room to be cleaned each day but did want fresh towels since their towels were small and thin, but we had a very hard time getting fresh towels. I was finally able to get fresh towels and was amazed that the towels that I was given were frayed on the ends but at that point I was just happy to get clean towels, until I got back to the room and realized that the reason they were frayed on the end was because what I had received was actually one towel that had actually been ripped in two pieces. At that point it was so bizarre, it was just laughable! This was the first place I have been into in 20 years that didn't have a hairdryer, so I had to buy one, and the restaurant was closed for construction, so no continental breakfast either.

Needs to be cleaned. TV did not work. Needs paint.

Without a doubt, one of the worst motels I've ever stayed at! Dead roaches, leaky fridge, broken down beds (both of them) A/C didn't work (had to change rooms), and dirty carpet ... I wore my socks the entire time and threw them away when I left. FILTHY! Especially for the price paid ($157/night). It WAS NASCAR Talladega wknd however but this was a total rip-off. NOTE: Always remember to make your motel/hotel reservations early, People. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Tub wasn’t sanitary for me to bath , couldn’t sleep peacefully roaches was crawling on me

After reading reviews I was hesitant to book this hotel but sometimes you can’t go off reviews. This hotel is actually clean. We had a nonsmoking room it was clean smelled clean didn’t smell like smoke. The bed and towels were clean. We didn’t see any bugs. It was quiet. I’d definitely come back again.

Expedia placed us in a smoking room which all our clothes and suitcases came home with the odor. This reservation had been made in October for a stay in April.Nothing stated in the emails it was a smoking room. The couch and linens had stains. The receptionist gave us a spray the first night. No opened restaurant. very old with cracks. Great water power. Housekeeping was hit or miss. only came one out of 4 days. Expedia should know what offerings are being made. Very dissappointed.

The bathroom wasn’t clean and the sheets were dirty. You could tell it was just spot cleaned. Asked for cleaned sheets but was told they were none available at the moment. And guests were not considerate of others bc of a party or whatever was going on

The room needed to be painted and the furniture is old need to be replaced. The room were old and not up to date. The tv only work if you turn the tv around.

Everything is very old and need to update. It’s hard to find good outlets near bedsides

I think this hotel was put together for a big race weekend to make some money. many rooms were not ready. our sink didn't work. oddly done room. oddly had full size refridg. and huge tv that wouldn't work because we assume wifi was not good.

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever been too! It is nothing like the photos!!! There nothing around this property. The light switch in bathroom was grounding out and sparking!! Very unsafe.

Older Inn, so I didn't expect super modern. With that in mind it is excellent. The room I had was not updated/renovated yet, so the newer rooms are much better. Mine had old paint that was blistered in places, the TV was an OLD model with a burned LCD screen, and the satellite reception was pretty bad, the WiFi was pretty sporatic, but fine for 2.4Ghz 802.11B....The staff is amazingly helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend with the caveat of older property reality, but the price and service more than make up for it.

First of all website says 1:00 check in got there around 12:00 they told us check in us 3:00 had to drive around for two hours came back around 2:40 they said sorry no room until 3:00 bugs in room floor dirty ac didn’t have vent we never got a remote for our tv so stayed two nights without tv the privacy door to next room wasn’t there the neighbors could of walked right in our front door didn’t latch oh and didn’t have wash rags the first night finally got them 2nd night I complained a lot and they didn’t care I paid cash and want my money back but didn’t get it this hotel exsperience ruined our weekend for sure

Got there approximately 2PM. No desk clerk. Sign on door said go to window. Go there, NO CLERK!! Rang bell 3 or 4 times, over a period of 15 minutes, NO CLERK!! Got in truck and left!! Went to Super 8 in TALLADEGA. I want my money back!!!

It was a good place to stay for the nascar races, about a 15 minute drive to the track. Bed and bath is an area that could be improved, better pillows and some toiletries.
