We had a good stay at The Intercontinental - good property and good location for visiting the city. The pool wasn't working which was a disappointment and the staff offered us free breakfast instead. $40 resort fee isn't great and the discount of $15 in the overpriced bar wasn't worth much :) The lines at the lobby were long and the bed wasn't super comfortable and the mattress needed replacement.

Beautiful room and view. Our only complaints were a whistling sound heard 24/7 in the room and the pool which was advertised as heated was ICE COLD and we couldn’t tolerate swimming.

Excellent hotel, staff, location!! The 3 star is for wrong advertisement while booking. The room said city view, but eventually we had to upgrade by paying additional amount and the parking is exorbitant !!! Only valet $74 per night. You may as well pay for a hotel room nearby. Just be aware of this.

Very clean nice hotel, and staff welcoming and helpful. Bar and restaurant pricey (but same as the area). Pool lovely but a bit cold, jacuzzi v warm which was great. Recommend staying here.

The property is a bit outdated. The staff was friendly. In our room, There was a lot of dog hair on the floor. I told the front desk people that to vacuum it. The next day, match better but there was still dog hair everywhere.

The stay wasn't awful overall. However, it could be improved in several ways. Most of the pillows smelled really bad. Also, there were some black stains near the shower door. Moreover, the breakfast buffet didn't have many options or beverages. We had to wait a long time for a coffee refill. There was no tea. When we arrived and when we were leaving, none of them staff offered any help with our heavy baggage. Again, the stay wasn't awful but there was a lot of room for improvement.

Place was not clean. Stayed at this place many years ago but was reminded again why I didn’t want to stay there any more. Showers have black mold. Toiletries are advertised as Byredo, but definitely not Byredo in those bottles, rather something with a high level of alcohol that you can smell it. Also, tons of random fees and taxes that end up costing almost equal to room rate.

Great place to stay, nice city view big room, the only thing that can be better is the TV / entertainment system is pricey, $20 to watch movies, $10 to stream music.. It would have improved our stay if we were allowed to stream movies or music through our phone if they didn't limit the functionality of the smart TV to just free cable channels and having to pay for music and movies..

We had two rooms, each with two very small full beds. Besides being very narrow, the beds were long past their useful life. Lumpy and unsupportive. Although it was average temperature outside, the rooms were very hot. In both rooms the lowest temp was 65, but it was nowhere near that. 73 at best, and there was only one baby comforter. All in all, it was safe and clean, but nothing what I would associate with an ICGH flagship. I’ve had better quality at their budget brands (HIE). Staff was very friendly and attentive.

Always have a great time at the SF intercontinental! Love the location. Easy access to mass transit. Lots of great restaurants in the neighborhood. Splurged this time and got a junior suite on a higher floor. Room was huge and had an amazing view of the city skyline and the bay.

In general I liked the hotel but there are 2 things that made my stay is unpleasant. 1. During check in the clerk was very rude when trying to sell me upgrade to a more expensive room. He embarrassed me in front of my girlfriend saying that I got the cheapest room and forcing me to upgrade. I told the clerk that I didn't get a cheapest room and got a more expensive room with a view but he kept insisting that it is the cheapest room. Made me super uncomfortable in front of my girlfriend. Not sure who told him to upsell like it. Terrible. 2. Wifii was super slow less then 1 MBP speed. never seen anything that slow. Had to work using my hot spot

The only real complaint I had was the shower. You could fix your water. Then it would go to freezing cold and then burning hot. The whole time you’re in the shower you are adjusting the water. Very aggravating!

I recently had a very disappointing experience at the front desk with a staff member . Upon checking in, I was shocked by how I was treated — he spoke to me in an extremely unprofessional manner and even raised his voice, which made the interaction very uncomfortable and stressful. To make matters worse, I was charged twice for the deposit. This billing error caused unnecessary inconvenience, and I’m still waiting for a proper resolution and refund. I expected a much higher level of professionalism and courtesy from the front desk team. I hope management addresses both the customer service issue and the double charge promptly to prevent other guests from going through a similar experience.

Great overall minus the check in. Front desk gave us two key cards. Only one of them worked to operate the elevator and neither key unlocked out room. Had to go back to lobby to get new keys. Other than that it was a beautiful hotel with a lovely choice of bar/restaurants.

The front desk service was disappointing. We checked out on July 26 and were told at that time that we had a $15 daily credit during our stay. I asked why no one had informed us about this at check-in, as we could have used the credit. The staff member simply responded, “Well, I’m telling you now.” This level of service and attitude is unacceptable and certainly not what one would expect from a 4-star hotel.

My room wasn’t ready after check in time. They then gave us a different room on a higher floor but I booked a city view and I got the freeway. I would have preferred the lower floor with city view. There was broken glass scattered in front of our door and my son got a piece of it in his foot. I told the front desk and no one cleaned it up. Ever. When I checked out it was still there. I was then charged an “urban fee” that was never discussed. This hotel I’m sure used to be nice but has not been managed properly I’m assuming in the last few years, seems pretty recent. Staff was nice.

The concierge was incredibly kind and accommodating when I requested a cake and a card to surprise my husband for his birthday. They went above and beyond, arranging a large card with a heartfelt birthday message and a delicious cake. It made the celebration truly special, thanks to Chief Concierge Bill.

We stayed at the InterContinental San Francisco last night. The location is convenient, and the building itself is modern and comfortable. I was checked in efficiently and quickly...my room was nice, spacious and clean...the jacuzzi was hot and relaxing...the gym was decently equipped with weights and cardio machines....the temperature of the swimming pool was just right...Bistro 888 surprised me with their delicious entrees and the wait staff are all super attentive and friendly including the hostess. The hotel is quite a walk from Powell BART station but it was manageable...I will definitely stay here again.

This is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at but not the most expensive so it’s still a good value. Room service breakfast was very classy and well presented. The food at Bistro 888 was very good as well. The strip loin steak was excellent and the Yukon gold purée was the best mashed potatoes I have ever had. My wife enjoyed the cheese plate. The hotel has almost anything that you need but venturing out to Walgreen’s or Target for snacks is pretty scary. I recommend taking an Uber or taxi and not walking anywhere if you can avoid it. The pool and hot tub were clean, well equipped and not crowded. The lady at the gift shop was very sweet and helpful but the hours weren’t very regular. Front desk staff were all very courteous and helpful as well. A taxi to the hotel from the airport was not cheap at over $60 but an Uber would be about half that amount. Overall I highly recommend this hotel and would love to return on another trip.
