After our original honeymoon overseas was cancelled due to the myriad problems of COVID, my wife and I decided to look for something closer to home, that would still provide a great experience. BVI provided this quite so. All of the staff we encountered was very helpful and courteous. The room was spacious, well furnished and in excellent condition, and everything was very comfortable for our two night stay. We visited the Tavern and Dining Room for lunch and dinner, and the lobby bar for breakfast finding both to have an diverse array of options with food that is probably higher grade than we're used to, but didn't in any way prevent from enjoying each meal. The Luxe Spa was a great facet of our visit as well, both of us enjoying hour massages as part of the trip. Very positive experience all the way around. Overall, just a great time, and nice to finally put the feather in the cap with such a pleasant visit.

The property was very well maintained and beautiful. The room was very large, comfortable, quiet and very clean. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. My only criticism was that 2 of the 3 dining areas were closed much of the time we were there for Labor Day weekend.

I had heard that this hotel was very good, but I was blown away on the outstanding quality of everything! Absolutely beautiful, regionally appropriate decor and architecture. The staff, cleanliness, restaurant, tavern, bedding, toiletries and organization was all 5 star. I will definitely be returning to this wonderful hotel.

The beds are too high to get in easily. Also, our room was not ready....we waited and hour and a quarter extra after traveling all day to settle in. Then at checkout, they charged us an extra fee because we booked thru a 3rd party! It was way too expensive for the value!

Stayed one night as a "staycation" in a Grand king fireplace room. It was a cold fall day and it was very warm and cozy. We had wonderful service at the restaurant bar and bolognese was delicious.

Absolutely beautiful room! Spacious and so nicely decorated. Fireplace was wonderful and bathroom was gorgeous. We were only passing through the area for the night, but would’ve loved to have stayed longer at this great property.

Check in was online so needed no time at the check in counter except to pick up the key. Room was large and spacious. No issues at all. Only meal we had was for breakfast which was very good and reasonably priced. Excellent service.

Superior experience! The room was fantastic — absolutely loved the fireplace, nice furnishings and decor. The staff was superior — they facilitated our late dinner, as the restaurant was about to close when we arrived late. Dining was superb — wish we could take the restaurant home with us!

I'd give it 5 stars but, as a first time visitor, it was confusing. We followed the signs for the Inn, ended up carrying our bags up stairs and into a banquet hall, and found the front desk with a sign saying that the host was away and would be back in a few minutes. We waited for a long while before finally calling. That's when Noah told us that we were at the wrong Inn (there are two? We didn't book the Grand -- we booked the Bedford Village Inn). That meant carrying bags back down stairs and heading to the main grey building. Overall, it was one of the most unpleasant starts to a hotel visit that we've experienced. Noah helped a lot and was wonderful, and the rest of our stay was great. We may go back, but I definately wouldn't recommend the Inn to someone who didn't already know their way around. The frustration is a lot to get past.

Expedia gave us a refund and we made an early checkout, but the hotel told us they were not able to show their system we left the hotel, also they were not able to give us anything that showed the date we left the hotel. " We never used an amenity in the hotel, just slept 2 nights, but they charged extra unexpected fees other than the resort fee. I asked to send a detailed invoice but nobody respond to my request. It is a nice boutique hotel but its management is a below-average, single owner/ manager managed dominated self-ruled business.

Great place - fantastic all around tho check in was kind of a drag. Man at front desk a little overly familiar and quite professional enough. Very disappointing that Hotels.com didn't indicate I would be hit with a $50 resort fee and $125 incidentals fee.

The staff here was wonderful! My flight was delayed, I missed my initial check in. They were accommodating and got me to graduation on time. The hotel is cozy and as a solo traveler I felt quite safe. Ohh...and the turn down of the bed with chocolate chip cookies... chef's kiss

When we arrived, there was no free water in the room, so we had to grab a mini fridge water as we were in a rush to head out. The first night, our room lock locked us out when we tried to get in around midnight. It took the night staff about 1.5 hours to resolve it. The night staff was apologetic and promised she would let the manager know about this and make sure we are "taken care of" during this stay. There was no "taken care of" - we were charged for the mini fridge water; there were no complimentary drinks or discount offered; the morning staff that checked us out did not acknowledge the incident - did not sympathize or apologize when we mentioned the incident and only said "yeah we try to keep the locks updated". The morning staff also appeared clueless and unhelpful when we asked if there are areas to walk around for some nature or town nearby or short drive away. I did not expect this level of bad service and communication for this price.

Superior experience! The room was fantastic — absolutely loved the fireplace, nice furnishings and decor. The staff was superior — they facilitated our late dinner, as the restaurant was about to close when we arrived late. Dining was superb — wish we could take the restaurant home with us!

Absolutely wonderful place. Amazing, high-end restaurant on the property too - for a great dinner. On par with high-end places but much more intimate. I wish we weren't just passing through.
