The room was nice, the bathtub had some rust. The pool and hot tub and room need a lot of work. They clearly had a water leak in the pool. The water was below the skimmer after 24 hours. The water temperature was also freezing. There for a softball tournament. So just needed to sleep.

For $200 a night, you would expect little things like ice machines to operate, 2 out of 3 on the property were not operable. Tried to use the washer and dryer, washer worked, the dryer would heat, but not dry anything, my suspicion is the vent is clogged.

Location is good for Kauffman Stadium. Elevators didn’t work, tv in room didn’t work, breakfast was below avg, probably won’t stay here again. Worst Holiday Inn I’ve ever stayed at.

The pool was very dirty, and the hot tub did not work, ice machine on the second floor was also broken. The breakfast was pretty good, and the lady serving the breakfast was super sweet! The soaps shampoo and conditioners were extremely watered down. The staff was very friendly, just disappointing when you take children to a hotel, they look forward to swimming and we were not able to do that. Overall not a horrible stay, just should have been some type of notice about the pool and hot tub.

Great room! The only downside was elevator was broken. We enjoyed how big the room was and the breakfast. The whole hotel seemed very quiet for being so busy.

Don’t stay here! The entire hotel had bit of a creepy vibe. At a quick glance, it looks OK. Typical mediocre hotel on the surface, but so many things were broken, neglected, and dirty.

Overall we had a very good stay at the hotel. Upon our arrival, the front desk person was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and spacious, bed was comfortable (with a lot of pillows too), and adequate amount of towels. The hot breakfast in the morning was very good with a wide variety of choices. Location was great for getting to game at Kauffman stadium and several restaurants/bars nearby. The only negatives I say were that the walls are not very soundproof so you could sometimes hear noise in the next door and overhead rooms, the shower took a long time for the water to get warm, and because we were in a room close to the elevator, you could hear the noise and activity from the elevator, but these were just minor inconveniences and nothing that would take away from our overall experience at the hotel. We would definitely stay here again!

I was disappointed with my stay at this Holiday Inn Express in Independence. It was pretty dirty. The only way I was able to tolerate my stay was. I had cleaning supplies with me. I cleaned out the tub of soap scum and the nastiness of the bottom of other feet. The tub was not white. It was gray. The corners still had existing dust. The windowsills were as though they hadn’t been cleaned in quite a long time.

The room’s carpet and bathroom floors looked like they had not never been cleaned in quite a while. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. TV could have been a bit bigger for that room size. Bathtub looked very unsanitary Dirty hands prints on walls, especially the bathroom walls. Window blinds did not cover the entire window therefore it was ENTIRELY TOO MUCH night light coming through the window which made it difficult to sleep. Spiders in room, night front desk staff did not have spray to utilize to kill. It would be really nice if toilets could be taller.

My daughters and I stayed in a King room and it was great! The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space. We had 2 tvs so they had their own and it was nice having the sofa bed and chair by the bed as well. The pool and hot tub are always warm and perfect for adults and kids and we even had it all to ourselves which was amazing! One of the ladies at breakfast was so kind as well (I don't know her name unfortunately but she was talking to my girls and to other customers and so friendly when we walked in even). We enjoy this hotel each time we stay.

The air conditioner struggled to work. It was set at 68° but never cooled to more than 72°. The mattress on the bed I slept in was broken. There was a major hole that I slept in and was unable to move much during the night. Very uncomfortable. However, the staff was the friendliest I have encountered in a long time and the hotel and room itself was very clean.

Front staff was very friendly and efficient, check-in was very pleasant. Our bed was very comfortable and it was quiet considering how close we were to the interstate. The room did need some renovations, the carpet was terribly frayed were it met the tile, the window shade would not come up or down and showed obvious signs of wear. It was stuck about five inches from the bottom of the window.

The people here really knew the area and shared recommendations. Comfortable beds and nice size rooms. Elevator wasn't working so we had to carry all our luggage for a family of 6 up and down 6 flights of stairs. When we checked in the woman who checked us in was very short and rude to me, when I asked her to clarify the hours for breakfast she rolled her eyes and raised her voice (almost to yelling) to repeat the hours.

We were delighted with this hotel and plan to stay here next visit. The staff was exceptionally helpful, especially Karen. Breakfast was superb, with many excellent choices, and requests were promptly attended to. The mattress was a bit saggy - my spouse weighs 50% more than I do - but that was my only complaint. Love this hotel!

It was really a pleasure staying there with my family. The people in charge of the front desk were excellent, they attended my children (9, 7 and 2 years old) with a lot of patience and they really fulfilled all their requests; It was wonderful. The Sr. in charge of the kitchen, at breakfast also had a very nice detail with my children, so my children were completely happy and that was the best for me. I like that this hotel is slightly out of the way while still being a pretty close drive to all the attractions you may want to visit. It was quiet and clean. I also thought the continental breakfast was pretty good and provided a lot of variety. Staff was incredibly nice.

This was a nice hotel nestled on a nonbusy street with easy access to the highway. The checkin was quick. The breakfast was very good. The only knock was maybe noise from the laundry room, but overall very good.

No hot water for showers asked front desk couldn’t really give an answer. Breakfast was cold ran out of coffee to get another pot going was taking forever. Only one person running the kitchen was too much for him with the huge crowd in the motel in for the game

Found the room and hotel itself very clean and quiet. Bathroom was equipped with full size shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand wash. We forgot to pack our toothbrushes and the hotel noted that you can get a complimentary one at the front desk. They also provide these complimentary items if you forgot them: toothpaste, razor, shaving cream. The have different breakfast options - oatmeal, cereal, a pancake maker, muffins, different juices, coffee/tea. Hot breakfast options included eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy. This location is very convenient to shops which is a short distance away. There are also restaurants within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

Our room, lobby, and breakfast area were all clean and well maintained. Beds were soft, and plenty of hot water for showers. The pool and hot tub were both operating and an extra amenity my family enjoyed. The breakfast buffet had plenty of options, including hot food.
