We had a wonderful time with family. The view of the water and river were wonderful. It was a short trip into Chatanooga but we mostly stayed in and cooked. We made a bonfire and roasted marshmallows. My grandkids had a ball. It rained the whole time and the ground was muddy but we had fun playing outside too. The house is very spacious and there is plenty of room to get together. My only complaint is I could have used a casserole dish as I cooked most of the meals. The can opener didn"t work so we bought the kitchen a new one. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean and nice. We LOVED our stay.

We enjoyed our stay here. The location is perfect for families - it's right on the river with plenty of yard to play in. It's also only 15-20 minutes to downtown and even less to grocery stores (food city and whole foods are super close), coffee shops and a handful of breweries / restaurants. My daughter and I loved using the kayak and had fun trying to spot the bald eagle that nests nearby. The house is stocked with kayaks, SUPs, paddles, and life vests. The home has a solid layout - 2 beds upstairs and a basement with bunkbeds and a playroom. Kitchen is laid out well but doesn't have a ton of amenities. The home broadly could use some updating to make it 10/10 but it's hard to judge a cabin based on paint, so still perfect marks in our book.

5 of us adult siblings/inlaws (2 couples & 1 single) recently stayed here for a week. The gorge view from the back deck was utterly beautiful & peaceful, serenaded by a symphony of diverse birdsong all day long. And the deck itself was brilliantly designed, its clever roof allowing light and airflow, and yet keeping one dry even during significant rainfall. The only thing missing was an outdoor outlet, to plug in a fan on a breezeless, warm afternoon. We rented a pontoon from the wonderful folks @ the downtown Erwin Marine, and it took only 37 mins (@ 25 mph) to get it back to the house - a pleasant, pretty trip along the river. The house itself was spotlessly clean, and well supplied with towels and linens. The kitchen was fairly well stocked with most of the necessary cooking tools, pans, and pots. Plenty of plates, silverware, coffee cups, and glassware. The single adult slept in the LL bunk room. Not ideal for an adult (crinkly plastic mattress cover under the sheets, low headroom, and no place to sit to put on socks or shoes - and dark as tar at night), but it was fine for 1 week...after we got some plug-in LED nightlights lol. The LL bath is very pretty, but could use a couple towel rods for damp towels - there are only 2 hooks. We all enjoyed our stay here, and had a relaxing, peaceful, fun time.

A wonderful experience with family. The communication was excellent; host was responsive to inquiries. It was spacious and lots of bedding and towels for our large group. We fished everyday and used the kayaks. They have SUP too! Plenty of inner tubes so a large group can use the river all at once.

This property was great for our family with young kids. The house was spacious and as described. Our kids loved the patio and waterfront/dock - fishing, kayaking, and swimming every day. The path to the house is windy, as noted, but not problematic and otherwise a short drive to downtown and other attractions. Thanks for having us.

We had a great time. The cabin was clean and lots of space for the kids. It was nice to be right on the river with a dock and paddle boards, rafts to use. It was a nice little family getaway.

We enjoyed this riverfront home. The family loved sitting on the large deck, fishing from the dock and watching the barges, boats and kayaks go by. Our daughter was married at Snooper’s Rock and we had plenty of room for post ceremony celebration and brunch.

I mean sweating hot and they have a lock on the thermostat so there is no way to make it cooler. I even notified the owner and all he told me was that it was hot at his house too. Was definitely not the "5-star experience" they say in the information for this place.

Being right on the river and secluded from the city, but still within 20-30 mins of just about everything was perfect!We do feel the house looked more dated in person than in the photos, but the beds and bedding were all very comfortable, the kitchen worked well for everyone in our family (ranging from 11 to 81 years old) and we all enjoyed our time there. Though the house is dated it is very obviously well cleaned regularly which is very important to us!Important note unrelated to the property: Be sure to eat at Uncle Larry’s on E MLK Blvd when you visit Chattanooga! It is absolutely stellar, delicious, fresh soul food.

The location in relation to Chat and being right on the river is amazing! It’s so beautiful and peaceful. There were a couple of dead roaches laying around. The layout of the house is awkward in that the entrance is on the second floor, up stairs, but you can’t get to the river or yard from the ground floor, you have to go up Stairs and then down again. So there are a lot of stairs. And the inside is a little dark and outdated. But it’s a wonderful place nonetheless! We put our jet skis in at the boat ramp a couple miles up river. The road to the place is extremely narrow and curvy so carrying a trailer can be tough. Would stay here again!!

This is a wonderful property right on the river. It was so nice and just what our family needed for a weekend away. It was clean and excellent accommodations.

Overall we enjoyed this property! The backyard space, porches and use of kayaks/paddleboards were the highlights. Close to hikes and not far from the city. Kitchen was well-appointed. My BIL planned to sleep on the futon but when we got there it did not look comfortable enough so he shared the bunk room with another family. The king bedroom smelled a little musty and there was a fair amount of dust in the corners and on top of some surfaces throughout the house. There were a couple dead cockroaches on the property but we were honestly surprised that there weren’t more bugs since the house was pretty surrounded by nature. Some pretty sunsets! Nice place to stay as long as your expectation isn’t for it to be immaculate or recently updated.

This property functioned well as regards to number of bed and bathrooms. The downstairs bedroom can be entered from the ground level without climbing stairs with suitcases. We knew in advance we would be schlepping groceries and suitcases up a steep flight of stairs to the upper level. The backyard firepit and dock can be gotten to in only 2 inconvenient ways. Either you walk to the end of the driveway, accross the yard, down the side of the house and then down a steep hill OR you climb down 2 steep sets of stairs from the upper back deck. You can do it but we had smores at the firepit on Christmas day evening and carrying stuff down there was a pain. There is nice back porch under the upper back deck but you have to carry stuff down stairs to eat there and you cannot get to the backyard from the porch. These are not deal breakers. It is a nice vacation house. It is also a pet friendly property which is great. Our dog managed the front stair case when we took him out to walk him. We cleaned up after him religously of course only to discover other dogs in the neighborhood come over to use the bathroom on a normal basis! The grumpy sarcastic older gentleman who lives next door: his dog comes over and sleeps on the upper deck porch furniture daily. Then he had the nerve to yell over to us that he thinks he heard our dog whining.....of course he did!!! Our dog most likely saw his dog lazing on the porch couch right outside the big window where the dog kennel was inside the house. Other than that, we had no issues with neighbor. Be advised to drive the notorious last 3 miles in daylight the first time you navigate them. It is 25 mph and in places, 2 cars cannot easily pass on another. It was not an issue. We were there Dec 22 to Dec 29, 2021. We put up a nice artificial Christmas tree and cooked mainly at the house for evening meals. The kitchen is well stocked for a rental property. One challenge was that the house is located in central time, and literally everything we did was located in eastern time. Set your phone to stay on eastern time. Be aware that google maps auto switches whenever you criss cross into central. There is no way to set it to stay on eastern. You just get used to asking Central or Eastern? The only other thing we noticed was the basement has no heat. There was a space heater. We had brought extra blankets. We did not want to leave the heater plugged in overnight while the kids were sleeping in the 2 sets of double bed bunks.

My family of 6 (all girls) enjoyed our weekend getaway. The house was large enough for everyone to feel comfortable. As previously mentioned, the kitchen was well stocked and we cooked all of our meals. We were not use to driving in the mountains and there were lots of sharp curves. Which meant we didn’t leave or come back after dark lol. That was ok because we enjoyed each other and that gorgeous view of the mountain.

I got married at Snooper’s Rock. This was a great location with a great view! We loved the quietness by the river. The only complaint we had is that there were dogs everywhere. The scenery was very beautiful overlooking the Tennessee River!! The homeowner was very helpful with recommendations for activities and dining areas around town.

We saw some boat traffic but it was not a busy stretch of water during our stay. The kitchen was well stocked for a rental property. We cooked every meal at home and had everything we needed. We had plenty of towels/linens and beds were comfortable. The road on which the house sits is very narrow and curvy but not as big a deal to us as others have mentioned. Its a 10 minute, two mile drive from the home to the main highway but worth the drive when you get there. Our concern driving in for the first time was not so much about the road conditions as it was with some of the neighboring properties which seemed rough. However, mixed in among the homes where you might expect to hear dueling banjos, are nice homes that appear to be new or newly renovated. After a day or two into our stay and few trips to/from the house, we began to feel very comfortable with the surroundings. My only complaint was with the HVAC system. The upstairs and downstairs were drastically different temperatures. The most balanced temps we could achieve was 73 upstairs and 59 downstairs. To get downstairs warmer, would make the upstairs unbearably hot. To make the upstairs comfortable, downstairs would be unbearably cold. Otherwise it was very enjoyable.

The home was just as advertised. My family (ages 65 to 6) had a wonderful time relaxing and fishing. There was enough space in the house for everyone to spread out and find an activity. The property down to the dock was very level, and the view was spectacular. The home was also an easy drive into Chattanooga and close to a grocery store. The only negative, which is out of the owners’ control, was the road to the home. It is narrow. If you are bringing your own boat, be prepared to back it into the drive from a narrow road.

The home was beautiful and in a beautiful setting. It's a little bit of a rough drive off the main highway, but the views are amazing. We had a wedding party stay here for the weekend for a wedding up on Signal Mountain so it was more of a base than a vacation home for us. We had plenty of place to sleep our guests and our dogs enjoyed the back yard. A couple of small issues we were able to fix ourselves, but nothing that melt us from enjoying the home. However, the current coffeepot takes forever to brew. Other than that, wonderful place to stay and I would definitely recommend it!

Stayed here with some friends. It’s on the river and close enough to Chattanooga to go for eating and site seeing. Would stay here again.
