The Fairwind Hotel

Wasn't really excited with our choice we paid extra for garden room which placed us in a corner and not a great view if a garden but rather dead trees falling over even laying out in front of our entrance door. The pool on the roof top is dated and not cleaned regularly loung chsirs old and badly worn and torn. They have an additional terrance that has not seating no anything to be honest. Would be a great spot to lounge in the evening if was taken better care if. Ice machine wasnt producing any ice. No microwaves on site nor in the rooms so no need to bring leftovers back to the room.

Hotel has no microwave, pool close too early, no gym, pool umbrella was broken throughout the stay, pool cold on low temperature weather and enough lounge chairs at the pool.

Hotel staff was great. Very pleasant and informative. Elevator only went to 3rd floor so had carry luggage from the 3rd to our room on 5th floor. Music is loud and starts early around 10am. That might be a problem for some or others might enjoy that. Location was amazing! Seemed like we never had to walk more than a block or two the whole trip.

AC unit really loud. Nice location but having to pay $40 daily for parking was not worth it.

Check in was quick and easy. The room was small, the usual, convenient table/desk and chair were replaced with a mini bar, and at times the bathroom smelled of sewage.The pool was large with chairs but NO umbrellas nor cabanas for shade. But, otherwise the hotel is a block from Ocean Dr and the beach and the Sola restaurant serves good food and provided great entertainment.

The restaurant in the open patio beside the hotel blasts loud music during much of the day, including late into the evening, which was clearly audible in our room. When we checked in, we were informed that the elevator in our portion of the building was down, requiring us to take a different elevator and use the fire stairs to access our floor. This was not a problem for me and my companion; we are both-able bodied. But the staff did not apologize or ask if this posed a physical difficulty for us. For some guests this might have been a serious barrier. The rooftop pool is not heated (or at least, not while we were there) and the bartender at the pool starts blasting loud music at 10am. destroying any opportunity for tranquil relaxation for most of the day. The A/C in our room was very loud and ineffective at keeping the space cool. We had two beds in our room, but only one had easy access to electrical outlets near the bedside table. On the other side, we had to move a heavy piece of furniture in order to just barely gain access to a wall outlet. Our room was spacious but lacked adequate furniture -- there was no desk for working, and only a single flimsy director-style chair. The place was clean and the location is great (aside from the noise pollution), but I would not recommend staying here.

Comfortable beds but the pool closes at 9pm and I thought that was very early

I found roaches in the bathroom. The bartender at the pool was super rude. The pool was dirty. The ac in the room wasn't working correctly. This is usually my favorite place to stay when Im in Miami but after this experience I think I'm going to find somewhere else.

This is our 3rd stay at this property. We love it here because of the convenience to South Beach. The hotel room is also very clean and the hotel itself has a very vibrant atmosphere. The staff are always friendly and accommodating.

The property’s a very bad Oder. The sink in the bathroom was stopped up and drained especially slow. Just not what I expected at all. Very disappointed.

This hotel was horrible, mold, rust, absolutely disgusting don’t stay here.

The location of the Fairwind is excellent. A very quick walk to the beach with lots of dining options around. The hotel itself could use a bit of an update and more attention to cleaning. Some dust strings hanging from the ceiling, the odd dead bug stuck in a corner. We only stayed for one night and noticed these things right away.

I was hesitant about booking after seeing the mixed reviews but took a chance anyway and I was not disappointed. The one night stay was good and quiet. Even though the music was playing in the front of the property the room that I had I heard nothing. The staff was nice and the drinks were good especially the Mango Lemonade. The room was big and spacious. I would say the room needed more light but that was really it. I would definitely stay here again. The price of the room was affordable and I loved how they had a mini bar area. If anyone was to stay here I would recommend the garden room.

No hot water until the last day of our stay.. we complained a couple of times but nothing was done to fix the issue.. the staff were friendly but the hotel wasn’t at all what I was expecting

Decent little hotel in Miami Beach. In a great location but parking was difficult to find nearby. Bed was uncomfortable and tilted to one side, AC didn’t work all that great. Not a horrible experience but there is definitely room for improvement.

There is nightclub in the courtyard of the hotel. Noise was very significant late into the evening. Yes, it is in Miami. Yes, it was a Saturday night. But no, it was not mentioned in the listing that sleep would not be an option until after midnight. Neighboring hotels - some of which I could have booked instead - looked very similar but did *not* have a nightclub blasting music all night. The room was described as a “garden level” room. It was, in reality, in an atrium and immediately adjacent to a sketchy looking garage with access to the street. The door to said sketchy garage was wide open. The door to our room was a flimsy glass slider.

Need to detail this hotel is next to a restaurant that starts playing loud music at 10am until 2am in the morning

This hotel is one block off the beach, good location. The issue is they have a dance party in their courtyard until 2:00am with music blasting. Then another hour until all the people screaming leave. If you are there to party, great place, if you are there to out out and come in at 11:00 to sleep, wrong place.

Property was nice but they did not have hot water and I feel like the receptionist kept the information from me at check in because I had to ask her and she said it was an issue but they were trying to fix the issue. I was more upset she didn’t let me know at check in.

Never come to here! It’s not the room for sleeping. The Expedia doesn’t show that it’s nighttime club bar, and the loud music stays maybe until 2 am! Likely you are sleeping in the bar! In addition, the hotel is close to street, and the loud traffic over whole night!

Perfect location. Nice hotel. Have stayed there a few times. This is my second stay where they have problems with their hot water and had to take several cold showers and when you’re under the cold water you become a very unhappy guest.

Great property, location location location is prime TOP NOTCH. It's so convenient and walkable to everywhere within 2 minute you are at the beach and right in the middle of best part of ocean drive. Now if you are looking for a restful hotel, this is not it. You will be in full blasting dj mode (It's a party/ restaurant )from 11 a m to sometimes 3 a m. The pool is nice small.However, people don't tend to stay there long periods of time due to brunch and party mia brings

I arrived to check in and was told my room wasn't ready. They said they would call me to let me know when it was ready... I never received a call. My reservation was for a king-size bed, but they gave me a room with a queen bed. I never received the bottle of wine. It's not bad, but they need a lot of coordination.

The check in lady was SO rude. We asked for her to explain why the hold on credit card was so high. instead of explaining she kept repeating the amount. they expect u to use their mini bar in the room. we made sure we didn't touch the mini bar! The prices were extreme due to the fact the CVS outside the property sold the same items for way less. on our entry into our room. I had to go behind the house keeping staff to get remaining hair out the shower and go over the sink edges which had some kind of black sum on it. On day two we return from the beach, and get to our room patio. (Room 124) There was two strange men and a lady sitting on our patio in our chairs doing a drug deal! We asked the people to leave and they told us to wait cause they were doing a transaction! So I went to the front desk to get some help or security! And was told by the same rude lady that checked us in! That they don’t have security! And that’s all she said! She never offered to call the police nor have the strangers removed from our patio. So my wife and I was left to remove the strangers ourselves! VERY VERY UNSAFE SITUATION! Day 3! We return from shopping and get into our room and our whole ceiling in our room is leaking very badly from two parts of the ceiling! only giving new towels and told we could not have our air conditioning on due to the ceiling leaking! Like it’s MIAMI! Lastly they really need to get their pool cleaned! It’s so NASTY! WE WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS LOCATION EVER AGAIN!

The staff was amazing; it was probably the best service experience I've had. They upgraded my room and gave me a welcome gift along with many advices to do in South Beach.

Delvis at the front desk was so nice and upgraded our room to a nice Terrace Suite. The VIP package included a complimentary bottle of wine. The food at the Sola Restaurant downstairs was good, and I really enjoyed the rooftop pool. The bartender was nice and played the music we liked. Overall a great place, I would definitely stay again.

The stay was great, but I never received my deposit back and I called and left a message and never received a callback.

Property is an excellent location. If you like to walk and bike is heaven. Along ocean drive plenty of city bikes. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. I have been going there for years and love it.

Fairwinds is in the center of the Art Deco area of Miami Beach and you can walk everywhere from there. It is very clean and the staff is very helpful. Two blocks from the beach, too!

Clean updated rooms! Did not hear the neighbors. Perfect location close to the beach (3 min walk). The room smelled good!! Fun bar on street level

Stayed here to be close to the beach and it was only 2 blocks away. Great place to be close for walking to many restaurants and shows. Very centrally located.

Front desk was amazing! Very attentive, and accommodating. The restaurant downstairs was sooo much fun , food was really good and the ambiance was everything! I would definitely go back . It’s a block away from the beach , and the Clevander ! Perfect spot to stay . Roof top pool also a plus !

Pool was not as nice as shown in pics online , needed some maintenance. The room was clean. The restaurant and bar at the hotel were very expensive compared to nicer hotels in the area, so we did not go there.

Amazing hotel. Wish the pool stayed open longer though. The restaurant below I enjoyed but I like music!!!!

Live music right outside your door! Party and great food! Pool was amazing

The location of the the fairwind is great. A block from the beach and all maind attraction free trolley a block away to get around south beach and bus downtown to get into brickell or bayside a block away. Area is walkable to nught life and restaurants and beach. The bar like everything else in south beach a bit pricey. The lounge area around roof top pool a bit small and narrow. Pool was freezing should be heated for winter and spring months. But overall would stay here again.

The location was great - South Beach was very walkable including all its bars. There was lots of nightlife but we didn’t feel like it was loud in our room. The dining spot on site was the best part - Would be cool if they offered discounts for hotel guests although we had fun anyway. Rooftop pool and bar was fun. very kind of them to give us a complimentary bottle of wine. on our arrival.
