Excellent location, close to the beach and the Miami Beach Convention Center. Good value for the money. However, the elevator in my building was broken all week I stayed there.

Very Nice Art Deco Hotel! Very clean rooms and bathroom! Had a Great Stay! Hotel is three separate building. There is two pools one on the roof and one in another build main floor. There is a sundeck on the roof separated from the pool. There’s an open restaurant/bar on the main floor of one building in the middle. The pool that’s on the main floor of a building has a bar near by it. It is extremely nice hotel inside and out. Beautiful orchard and plants everywhere. Art paint on hotel walls. There a small store near by that sales sandwiches and food. There a pizza spot up the street and everything is walking distance. There is also a CVS by that’s 24hours. Collins ave is just a block away. Beach is just a walk away. There is also a parking garage near by if you decide to drive and park. Recommend you stay here!

Hotel Room was nice and clean Hotel atmosphere was nice They have free complimentary 2 drink Happy Hour everyday of your stay from 5-8pm. They have 2 pools rooftop and bamboo pool which was closed everyday which bothered me because of the light rain which is normal in Florida but they still had it closed! Your only option was the beach for swimming which is 4 blocks away. Balcony was pleasant because I could have a view of city nightlife Pet and kid friendly!!! Overall I was unbothered and enjoyed my stay!!! Would book again!!!

The breakfast voucher worked out well, but the staff at Maxine’s was disappointing. On my last day, the manager refused to let me have breakfast because I was 10 minutes late, and she was rude about it. I first stayed at the Riviera in 2016, and it was nice to come back. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and most of the staff are friendly. However, two things stood out this time: the elevator to the rooftop wasn’t working when I tried to use it, and when I got to the rooftop pool, the water looked a bit dirty and there was no one around. Overall, my impression from 2016 until now is that the hotel remains a solid option, but it could benefit from some renovation.

Pros-Close to beach, great dining near by, complimentary drink once a day, gate code at door. Cons-Run down elevators, water in lobby is always empty at night, switched my room from balcony to suite due to third party purchase, snacks in room were expired. Overall not bad but could easily be 5 stars if they didn’t switch my room, refilled waters, fixed elevators.

Bad services. Elevator not working and my room at level 4. Costly parking. No coffee in room.cut my stay short cause bad place.

The pools were amazing , the staff was very helpful No parking but they will let you know where you can park for a daily fee and the parking guys are great as well Everything was walking distance and close to the beach 24 hrs store very near Had a great experience

I've stayed at this hotel before and had a great experience, which is why I decided to return. Unfortunately, this time was very different. The room had an unpleasant smell, there was a bug on the bed, the remote control didn't work, and none of the lights in the room worked properly. I was really surprised, because my first stay was amazing. I hope management takes care of these issues, since this place has potential, but my recent stay was disappointing.

This hotel was the worst place I have ever stayed in south beach the room was not clean there was hair and dirt all of the floor. The bathroom toilet had hair all over it. The comforter on the bed had old blood stains on them which means they don’t wash the covers after each guest and the staff was so nasty and rude after explaining and showing them this they argued with us about her having pictures of the room being clean even after the cleaners they sent back to try to clean told us they are sorry and the lady is new and didn’t vacuum the floors because she didn’t know! Also all their cleaning utensils was left in our room I started using them to clean since they didn’t know how. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN and they wouldn’t even offer us a dollar off of our stay for the inconvenience and the hotel is very loud and noisy and also parking is down the street for $45 a day

Great stay ! My family had the queen suite which was nicely decorated. However the building is aging and it shows in some areas. I think more thorough cleaning would help with that. The pools are not big pools but I loved the size and the rooftop was amazing. The staff were super friendly. I didnt like that our room didn’t get cleaned one night especially after I left a message about the cleanliness of the room. It’s wasn’t filthy however soap scum and water stains were visible , and the bathroom door kept getting stuck. The light fixtures in the bathroom had visible dust buildup and we had 2 cockroaches visit . The beds were super comfy! The tvs are older models so not much is on and they aren’t WiFi TVs. The beach was a block down , the location was close to everything and easy to find. I wouldn’t stay here again only because I’m a hotel snob. But this hotel is Beautifully decorated .

One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. We arrived early afternoon to check-in during which the computers we were down. When we came back to the hotel at around 8:30pm, we were told the computer system still wasn’t working and to sit in the lobby. After 30 minutes we were incredibly frustrated and after watching two other couples check in we asked why they were able to check in while we weren’t -- only then dud they suddenly get us a room. The room was dirty when we arrived -- the floor were wet (resulting in the floor boards to be warped and stick out which was painful if your bare foot hit it) as well as an odor. If it could not get worse, there was a cockroach in the shower (which I have photos of). We did not feel comfortable using the shower for the entire stay at the hotel I will certainly never stay at this hotel again and advise anyone I know staying in Miami to choose a different hotel.

The uncleanliness of their pool caused both my legs with severe bacterial infection. I brought this up to Expedia and the property is not working with providing a refund. Horrible service to someone to is in medical condition.

The first room they give me had blood on the sheets

Had to carry a 50 lbs bag up 4 flights of stairs. Very loud humming noise from the light by the front door. Had to use elastic to close curtains to bright purple light did not shine in all night. Toilet paper holder about to fall off the wall Towels were left on dresser, not hung up or put away in the bathroom. Black feet after walking around barefoot. Floors have not been properly cleaned. The complimentary breakfast was not even in the hotel which meant I did not have the time to even use them to travel to another hotel.

The hotel was nice. The only issue was both of the rooms that we stayed in had roaches. The staff handle it ok. They moved us to another room but, unfortunately, that room had a big roach. They paid for our transportation back to the airport. They need pest control to handle the situation.

When I first arrived at the property it had a funny smell . When going into my room the smell got worse it smelled moldy and old . During the first day water was leaking from the ceiling onto the floor at night . During the second day I seen three roaches in my room. I informed room service and the receptionist in front in were I sent a picture to them . They said a deep cleaning would be done . I came back latter that night and the bed was fixed and cleaned but I still seen a roach . The next morning more water was dripping from the ceiling above onto the bathroom floor. I informed Expedia and the property and both did not refund me even with my pictures and videos of the issues I had . They gave me a free breakfast that I wasn’t able to even go to because of the time that wasn’t listed . Terrible experience all and all do not book !!!!!!!

The room looked nothing like the pictures is felt dirty smells like paint there was pretty much no lights the shower was working poorly the water was leaking out of every possible place except the shower heads I accidentally booked an accessible (handicap) room and wanted to change it because I didn’t require it but the front desk told me that this is what I booked and that’s it the water in the pools was murky and they were small there is no insulation in the doors (big gaps) it was all really disappointing I’m really surprised this place has 4 stars

It was overall a nice room but had a few weird things wrong with it. Mostly the bathroom and some stuff made it feel dated. But the hotel itself is very nice

I loved the community spaces at this hotel and the tropical vibe. The "bamboo pool" was our favorite. Our room was small but comfortable and the balcony was nice. When I checked the sheets I did notice the mattress pad was not clean. It had debris and hair on it. Icky. I was too tired to complain and forgot about it. One other minus, the hotel advertised coffee in the lobby and that is non-existent. I asked and was rudely told they didn't have any. The front desk personnel was not friendly to other patrons asking other questions either. I messaged Expedia about the coffee and the response was it depends on "availability" which is a joke. The bar staff was also hit or miss as far as friendliness. It is a pretty property with a few missteps.

The outdoor noise was excessive and the hotel does not have soundproof measures as advertised

Super convenient location, especially to the event we attended in Collins Park. The hotel feels past its prime. We were in a one bedroom suite and the floor was coming up, lighting especially in the bedroom was terrible (no closet or ceiling light), and lacking in some modern amenities, like an easy way to charge the phone. When we checked in our room wasn’t very clean but the manager reached out quickly and had it cleaned more thoroughly— there was still some broken glass left in the bedroom. We had our little one on the sofa bed which was not comfortable and angled with the feet higher than the head. Recommend not using the sofa bed if you can avoid it. Their text system seems to be one way. There is a restaurant on site but no room service. One pool was heated and that was lovely. It’s a bit of a funny place but the staff was really kind and friendly.

Hotel Rivera is a in a great location in walking distance from the beach and strip. We did not have any issues during our stay however the rooms were not as expected including the ‘privacy’ balcony facing the busy street.

Our room was clean, however the plumbing and the lack of electrical outlets was an inconvenient!

It’s a good value. Rooms are unique and fun. Lighting and tvs need to be updated.

I didn’t get any room service. After calling 3 times. I had to go down to the lobby hours later to get fresh towels. The lighting suck. The plugs in room didn’t work. I had to charge my phone in the opposite room which was scary due to me traveling alone. I notified the front desk of the issues I was having only to receive apologies with no changes! The amount of money I paid is not acceptable. I asked to be moved. The acting manager on duty…confirmed they were complete filled. That’s the reasoning behind not receiving adequate service. She also told me that had a log of our calls.,

The young lady at the front desk was very helpful and polite. We arrived early and had no issues.

The front desk staff was rude and borderline negligent. In my haste to get to my room I forgot to get my license back (which was not offered back to me). I only realized when I was @ check-in with my cousin the next day & happened to look for my ID. Realizing I must have left it there the night before, I asked & they had it. Why didn't the clerk from my check-in make sure I got my ID back? What if I had not noticed until I had gotten to the airport & didn't have a photo ID? Customer service at its poorest.

Staff was very rude at check-in for no reason no smile. It looked like it was a chore to get us in. We stayed at South Beach hotel last time two weeks ago. They charged $40 same as Riviera for parking the car, but they actually parked it for you. In this case they send you to a parking lot with no elevator had to park on the third floor and it was quite stinky. There was no amenities in the room other than a fridge no telephone no safe very very small. Could barely move the other issue in the morning Asked for one hour delay so I could put the suitcase in the car. Of course they won't give that to you unless you pay $25 an hour check-in is at 4 PM. Check out is at 11 AM. That's a little bit unfair in my opinion overall, I think there are many better options

I would like to thank your entire staff for their stellar service from check in, customer service, bar attendant, pool attendant, maintenance attendant, maids and the attendants who cleaned the road edges around the hotel. I would like applaud everyone for their attention to detail during my stay which lead me in extending my stay by one day.

The hotel and amenities were fantastic. Location was great. Rooms need to be more upgraded with smart TVs and phone plugs. Housekeeping staff were all fantastic and above and beyond. Front desk staff were very unfriendly, didn’t welcome or smile, and unwilling to help. Exact opposite of the housekeeping staff who smiled

Many inconsistencies between Expedia summary and experience. We were unable to check in for 90 minutes past the documented (in email sent by Expedia) check in time of 3pm and were dismissively treated by staff. Name of hotel is inconsistent and as a result, Google maps directed us to wrong hotel (site says Riviera Hotel South Beach on Expedia , not “Riviera Suites”and I received an email with the correct address AFTER I had checked in. ) ironically, the staff there graciously gave us the correct address when the uber app could not locate the hotel as named on Expedia and in the pre-check in email. Shower set up leaked all over bathroom floor and the bathroom door was semitransparent (wavy glass so your image was distorted but visible) which is not ideal when you’re traveling with friends. Final straw was morning coffee was located in a different building across the street. I was directed through a locked gate which lead to a construction area-luckily I ran into an employee who lead me through the back passages to get to the lobby No tea or even hot water as advertised, and coffee was undrinkable—a minor issue but summarized the lack of attention to details. This hotel needs to be consistent in their advertising on third party sites. Great architecture generally but would not recommend.

Nice stay after the management worked out the kinks the first day. Very busy high season so patience is a must, but management went out of their way to make up for 1st day mixups with our room. Rooms are cozy, comfortable and clean and maids are amazing. No wireless TV in our room but in others, but we spent minimal time in the room in paradise and partyville Miami. Wifi works great. Rooftop pool is tranquil eith great views Free cocktail each night of the stay was very nice and the restaurant that serves it (El Nogal - not part of Hotel) treats guests very nicely. Lower pool is very nice surrounded by Palms and nuce music. Recommended hotel for sure. Location is 2 blocks from BIG beautiful beach, 1 block from amazing food and shopping and a 7 minute Uber to the MB Strip. Worth the money. Enjoy

A male staff unlocked my room door around midnight when I was sleeping! WITHOUT announcing themselves. Should have pressed charges. After going down around an hour later All the man said was sorry it was a misunderstanding with another guest they were in the other building across the street. (Hotel has two buildings with the same room numbers I’m guessing). Staff should have checked the details in their system before opening any door. Narrow elevator only fits 2 people. Narrow staircase. No microwave, that’s another thing no phone in the room. Didn’t even know if that man was staff until I went down there and say he was behind the desk. Not a 4 star hotel experience!

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It was within walking distance to everything, which made it very convenient.

Nice boutique hotel. Room was big with kitchenette and fridge, that was a big plus. Hotel was very nice, and impecable. They charge resort fee but you don't get beach service (reposeras). You con carry small chairs to the beach. Nice area, safe calm and near everything

music is too loud, not clean, too much overpriced restaurant on-site,$100 for a simple breakfast for 3 No parking, except overpriced garage Expedia must do better research before booking people. Never again i will use it. Also, I will make sure to post about it everywhere

They advertised a happy hour with food and drinks did not exist The pool opened and closed at inconvenient times. No one to help with luggage

The lobby was lovely and the staff were friendly and helpful. The the rooms in building 3 are open to a courtyard so you are exposed to the elements getting to your room. The courtyard has beautiful tropical plants everywhere. They have a restaurant in the courtyard as well but it is also exposed to the elements. Our room was clean and our bed was comfy. They have late checkout options which really helped for my late flight. It was easy to catch the free shuttle around town as well. Overall I would say here again.
