Beach Park Hotel

Upon arrival, we learned that the property elevation was out of service. As a result, we had to carry our heavy luggage to the 2nd floor via steps. After exploring and returning to the hotel after midnight to shower, we discovered that there were no wash cloths in our room. The front desk was maned by a security guard who was of no help. He informed us to use a towel to wash up and follow-up with the front desk after 7a. I brought this concern to the front desk representative Ellen in the morning who was very confrontational about me asking for wash clothes. She stated “none of the hotels in Miami have wash clothes and that I should know!” As a guest to Miami, I would not have known that. I asked that the appropriate notifications of what the hotel had and did not have should have been advised upon check-in. After requesting to speak to a manager several times, the front desk representative finally got the manager on the phone. The manager was also not helpful and instead of fixing the issue and apologizing, she requested that my entire family vacate the premises and provided a refund. The hospitality was very poor, rooms aren’t clean, shower is difficult to use and rooms aren’t temperature controlled.

Good location but very bad maintenance

Only positive was we had plenty of room in the room. The room was hot and dirty and the couch was nasty. No elevator. Probably the worst place I’ve ever stayed. We made the best of it and the location was good.

The hotel was old and run down. No washcloths at all on the property they don't use them. The elevator did not work.

Unfortunately, our stay did not meet expectations. We experienced several issues that made the stay frustrating and uncomfortable. Our toilet flooded when we tried to flush it, despite there being nothing unusual in it. There were also multiple toilet plungers left in the middle of the hallway, which made it seem like this was an ongoing issue affecting other rooms as well. The air conditioning in our room also did not work well during the day, and there was no thermostat in the room for us to adjust the temperature ourselves. On top of that, the elevators were not working, so we had to carry four full-sized suitcases up three flights of stairs. Lastly, the couch in our room was visibly dirty and had several suspicious-looking stains. Overall, there were simply too many maintenance and cleanliness issues for the stay to meet our expectations.
