The hotel is pretty average. Property is very small. Forget about the gym. It’s the smallest area I’ve ever seen. The hotel has a valet parking service that’s is terrible. The damage my car and they were trying to tell me that they didn’t do it. The cameras they have aren’t clear at all. Manager at the hotel did not do anything about it. Overall poor. I won’t return to this property.

Corridors to the rooms were dirty and the room was dated. The service was generally good but unfortunately the hotel is in dire need of some investment. The pool area was also tired and could be made a lot better. Also unable to use cash at the property. Only card or charged to the room. Not greet if you want to keep tabs on expenditure.

We came for 3 nights for a wedding. It was just ok. The elevator being the biggest flaw. Too many guests for only 2 elevators.it was a long wait each time we had to take it. Our room was ocean view with a balcony. The view was nice. The linens and towels were stained and there was a toenail on the floor. The beds were comfortable. The morning buffet was pretty chaotic. A lot of choices but nothing made me want to go back. Lots of seating around the pool but a smaller pool than what we expected. Location was convenient. I guess for Miami prices this is standard. I just wouldn’t return.

There were plenty of spots at the pool even though the hotel was sold out. The only problem we had was with the parking. We booked this hotel because there was parking, yes for an additional charge. We didn\'t have a car the 1st 2 nights but then we had a car on the 3rd night. When we pulled up to the hotel there was a sign "lot was full". We called the front desk and an associate told us there should be a spot for us since we had a room. Turns out there are over 300 rooms but only about 60 paring spots. This was not noted on their website. The parking is a separate vendor, also not noted on their website. The associated should never have given us false information. He should have said parking is a separate vendor you need to check with them regarding the full lot. We wasted time trying to figure it out.

The pool was not available for the 5 days I was there. One of the elevators was broken. Between my guests and I we had two rooms and neither of the TVs had the same channels, as if they were on differ cable packages. Check in was super slow.

First- it takes a lot for me to leave a negative review as a business owner I know the impact it can make but this needs to be addressed. This hotel was not cheap and we were very disappointed in the Riu. The room smelled like sewage the whole time. They were fixing the ceiling outside our room and drilling and hammering beginning at 7am every day.we weren’t told of any construction when we booked( maybe there was an accident, not sure) We notified the staff that the smell and noise was concerning and they sent someone up a couple hours later to “check” the room. He came in opened the bathroom door and looked in and said he will be back but never returned. There were several things broken in the room ( glass on table, lock on patio etc. This was our first stay at Riu resorts and we won’t ever stay with this company again.

Hotel Riu was a decent stay but I definitely wouldn’t stay again without major upgrades. Staff was attentive at outside pool areas but upon check in the front desk informed me that checkout was later than expected and the employee seemed a bit frustrated with my confusion and questions. Awe found a roach in our room the first night so we were able to move rooms the next day, but the hallways and walls were not the cleanest and elevators were slow and small making transport to and from the lobby difficult. Finally on our second day of the trip the pool was closed because it was “not safe to swim in and remained closed for the remainder of our trip which was extremely disappointing. I will not stay at this property again.

This was a great choice for us and an excellent stay. We planned last minute and was no disappointed. Room was great with great views. Upgrade to the partial view, worth it. Pool area was outstanding, great environment. Make sure you take advantage of the 1st night buffet discount, well worth it.

One elevator was broken so going up and down to the room was a pain. Our room smelled like a bad disinfectant. The front staff was inconsistent, some very nice, some not so much. The breakfast buffet was terrific. Having close access to the beach was great. The head valet person was very aggressive about asking for a big tip.

The worst check-in experience by far. We first arrived the hotel early at 10:45am, not expecting to have our room ready, we were told room will be ready early afternoon. (Schedule check in time was 3pm). We returned to hotel at 2:45pm was told the rooms are not ready, but their “guarantee” check in time is no later than 3pm we waited for another half hour not getting our room until 3:20pm. No apologies were made. Even they are the ones telling me “guarantee” 3pm. They told me too bad, room is not ready, human make mistake, nothing we can do about it. 8 customers between 2:45 and 3:15 checked in for their room right away. How is my room not ready when I told them I am ready in the morning but not getting my room until 3:20, while other customer just walked in and check in get their room right away? After we get into our room, there’s a really loud and continuous noise, I called the front desk two times, nobody came to our room to check.

Very nice stay. The room was lovely and in a loction which fulfilled my request. The area is lovely with reference to the locality of the beach and local shops/ restaurants. Staff very pleasant and kind. This included the reception staff, concierge, staff in the dining room, breakfast staff,housekeeping, towel staff, beach staff. Everyone! Will love to come and stay longer as I was there for just a day. Thank you.

The front desk team does not understand or execute a service culture. We stayed at the hotel for 4 days and on the first day informed the front desk that our televison was not functioning. They sent several maintenance people to check on it each time, the maintenance folks told us that there was nothing they could do to fix it. We asked to move and were told nothing available. We were told they would speak with management and get back to us- never heard a word. Upon check out, I asked if they would do anything on the invoice and was told that was not in their control. seems like not much is in their control. Need some service training.

So much to like about this property. Even with being rained out, the amenities and space made up for the down time. Alvin, at check in, was so help and accommodating, all while remaining calm, professional and kind. A lot of his female counterparts could use a lesson from him. The wait staff was so fun and efficient. We loved that the property was super family friendly, and everything was in walking distance. The pool and beach did not disappoint. Will return.

By far the worse service with no accommodation for beach seating yet they charge for resort fees. When it was addressed the answer was "I just work here" "I donno" staff was rude and did not care when seating for pool and beach was addressed. Eye rolling and "checked out" staff....

Don't stay here if you've got a car. Their valet staff were consistently rude and wouldn't let us pull into the driveway to simply unload our bags and check-in. He even criticized us for renting a car in the first place saying, "You should've just Ubered here" (although we were already 8 days into a 10-day trip through Florida.) Parking is almost always full (despite being an additional $40-50/day) so we were sent to park at a different hotel several blocks away (for $40-50/day.) And to make matters worse, our room was facing the street so we were constantly having to listen to the valet workers honking up a storm below us. It was such a bad first impression on the hotel, but the front desk manager said valet was subcontracted, so there was nothing they would do. He did promise to have the GM reach out and possibly move rooms to non-street-side, but no one ever followed up. Breakfast buffet was very impressive and for the most part, their staff was very accommodating and helpful. I don't think I'd stay there again (unless they change valet vendors) as my business requires we rent a car.

Nice hotel with great pool right on the beach. Buses, i.e. the trolley, regular buses (e.g. To Ventura Mall) and the Big Bus hop-on hop-off stops right outside the hotel. Breakfast was further good with a great selection. Lift capacity can be a challenge in the morning but not a dealbreaker.

Highly recommend the hotel, extensive breakfast buffet options which were great. Staff are friendly and go above and beyond with service. Hotel decor had a Christmas theme and it was very pretty. The only downside is that it’s far away from south beach however easily accessible by the citi bikes to rent. 15 mins relax bike ride will get you there

Love this hotel. Great location on beach and close to South Beach. Awesome breakfast and pool area. Resort fee was well worth it as they provide lounge chairs and umbrellas and beach towels on beach just a 1 minute walk from the back of the hotel. Absolutely stay here when in Miami

Mid-beach Hotel is old although the 1st floor is reconditioned very nicely. Oceanfront room was dated, but quite large and good bathroom. Surrounding area is very quiet, not many restaurant options. If you are looking for outdoor restaurants, cafes, entertainment or bars, this is not the place - maybe go closer to 14th Ave. area. Great beach area & free lounges & umbrellas. Pool closes early (6 pm). On site restaurant is expensive. Personnel were very helpful and pleasant.

We stayed here for 4 days before a cruise, photos looked like the hotel was to the usual Riu good standards however we were most disappointed. We found the room and hotel quite tired looking and in need updating. The sun loungers on the beach need replacing, we had broken beds, one day had beds with chewing gum stuck to them! The food was ok, we only had breakfast but found it repetitive after the few days. The evening buffet was quite expensive and found it better / easier to walk out to other local restaurants. Overall quite disappointing for a hotel chain that we have stayed in before and had great experiences.

The resort is ok. The room was fine. It will make do for a weekend get away. The food quality at the buffet is not great and in my opinion not worth the cost so we ate elsewhere. Great breakfast option just 2 blocks to the North on the west side of the road.

Beautiful location. The room was spacious and well kept. The hotel was also very pleasant great housekeeping. I was not a big fan of the dinner buffet however, the breakfast was phenomenal. The coffee shop and bakery in the lobby was also very delicious and everyone was very pleasant and helpful. I would definitely stay here and recommend others.

Nice hotel and pool. The beach is close easy access. Everything is clean the staff are nice. The alligator bar should stay open a lot later than 7pm for people who want to eat late. For the price you pay for this hotel all the rooms should a have a refrigerator and microwave we had 2 double beds with city view. We had a lot of food from area restaurants and ate it cold no microwave in the room. The breakfast buffet is good a lot of different choices. Overall nice stay

The property was nice, I wish the pool had been larger. The sunning area was nice but the ground underneath was hard, difficult to walk on. I would have like more "covered" areas around the pool. Food was good and plentiful but I think it should have been included in the price. It was extremely pricey (over-priced). I don't think I'll be back.

This hotel is better than I expected. Their staff were friendly all places. Their pool is kids friendly, max deep being 4 feet 9 inches starting from 3 feet. Its never crowded. Their Breakfast and dinner buffet is top class. Anyone booking this hotel, I would strongly recommend to book both breakfast and dinner package. Otherwise its $25 taxes for breakfast and $37 taxes for their dinner. Few things to call out - there is no self parking and valet parking costs $43/night. Their one of elevators were not working during my stay causing wait time in lobby. The person at live station in dinner area did not understand english and I had to call some other staff to make him understand in Spanish what I want. Overall, a great place to spend time with family.
