Excellent place for families. Easily accessible to everything in the park. 10 minute walk from the edge of the Grand Canyon. The air conditioning unit was shutting off at night making our room sweltering hot. Probably about 74°F. When we called the front desk to ask, we were told that they are called swamp coolers. They are meant for the desert and work really well when it’s hot. During the night when it gets cool, it will just shut off. But your room stays hot. They say they clean the rooms every third day. Instead of cleaning our room, they came knocking at our door at 8 PM that night asking if we needed anything. At that point, we were already getting ready for bed. So do not depend on housekeeping services at all. We stayed in the newer south buildings. Two of the buildings did not have functioning elevators. They were out of order. Only one building had a working elevator. So our family had to split up into two separate buildings to accommodate. :(

Very easy walk to the rim of the canyon and trail head for Bright Angel trail into the canyon. Nice gift shop in the lobby. The pizza from the pub was very good. We took it to go because it was very busy, but we were able to eat at the food tables. The room was clean and spacious with comfortable beds. There was a nice little balcony, perfect for a morning cup of coffee. There was a single cup coffee maker in the room. There is not an elevator to the 2nd floor rooms, if that’s a problem for you be sure to request the 1st floor.

We stayed at Maswik Lodge for 2 nights as part of a longer family vacation. The room was fairly clean but there was old food left in the refrigerator and the shelf above the dresser was very dusty. The bathroom was very clean. The food selection was much better than I expected based upon my online research before booking. Wild elk freely roam the grounds and my kids loved that they had breakfast a few feet from our porch. Would definitely stay here again.

The food was subpar and servers were reluctant to modify items and were smartallic when paying for food and drinks. The customer service was very poor. When asked about handicap modifications they told us we were put on the second floor. When asked about medical attention they told us to hydrate, when asked why we got double charged they made excuses about a system glitch, when following up with refund that never appeared...more excuses and now accusations. The person on the phone was very defensive. The room smelled like burned oven, I'm assuming after the self cleaning cycle. Other than that the room was clean with a spacious bathroom, but did not have grab bars near toilet for accessibility. It was right next to the tour buses and train station all within 100 feet of the room.

We were so excited to be staying here that we booked another night once we got there. The front desk said they would let us stay in the same room, no problem. The next day while our baby was sleeping, two house cleaners rushed in the room at different points (said they didn’t know we were staying), so I called the front desk to ask about it, and they said it was a mis communication on the housekeeping part, no worries. We left our room to get dinner, and when we came back, our keys didn’t work. So I went to the front desk, told her our room number, and the lady was extremely rude to me, saying that to get our keys to work again, I needed to register another credit card since it was a new registration. No one ever told me that, or called our room back to let us know. It was almost a mean girl thing right there in the lobby by her. A call to our room would have been a common courtesy, not locking us out of our room with our kids. I would have been happy to come right down with a new cc to incidentals. I probably wouldn’t stay here again since this is how people are treated.

Our experience at the lodge was great all around! Every staff member we encountered was friendly and courteous. We liked having the convenience of a full food court on the property so we could eat whatever we wanted without having to leave the village. Our room was spacious and very clean. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to the Grand Canyon!

The property is great, but we came in after sunset , so it was pitch black. It was nearly impossible to find the building we were in. It is a dark sky park, but some lighting to indicate where that pathways or building numbers in relation to the check in lobby would help a lot. Otherwise the staff and the rooms were great.

Our room had a kitchenette which helped make our stay very economical. Room was very comfortable and clean. Staff at the hotel and within the park were very friendly and helpful. This hotel is only a 5 min walk to the south rim (see photo) and the Bright Angel Trailhead. There is also a shuttle that will pick you up from the lobby. Highly recommend. .

Food has a lot to be desired. Overall the food was not very appealing. Dry bread for sandwiches, and hot dog, fruit was old, pancakes were cold, not a lot of healthy choices, flies were abundant. Beds were very comfortable, internet access was great. Loved the shuttle bus drivers. Staff at the hotel was great.

Fantastic location in the park. Our room was perfect. Clean and spacious. It is a very close walk to the GC as well as the red and blue (free) bus stops for the Village (blue) and GC (red). Food choices however are horrible. Food court at Maswik is food service cafeteria quality with high prices. Very disappointed. Find somewhere else that may be a little better.

The canyon is a very short walk away. Although breakfast is made to order (omelets and waffles) it is very much cafeteria style. Lacking in quality considering the price. Staff was great in preparing food. Cashier was complaining about the job. The front desk staff was awesome when I checked in and requested more coffee for the morning. Very friendly and service oriented. Very pleased with the room. The beds are comfortable. Maybe consider how the doors can be changed out to soft close - they were slamming shut as early as 3am when hikers hit the trails.

Perfect location within the Park. Short distance from the blue and red lines. The restaurant by the hotel, not good. Breakfast was not good (cold scramble eggs, and potatoes, all premade) and expensive. I recommend other restaurants in the Park.
