Staybridge Suites Wilmington-Newark by IHG

Reserved suite seemed to have odd smell and a grill was leaking propane during visit also.

The pool is listed as a selling point, and upon arrival it is drained an in disrepair. If you are going to use photos to draw interest even mentioning pool in the ads you should absolutely let consumers know if it is unavailable so that they can weigh that into a decision to cancel prior to arrival. Run away from this dump, elevator was an issue entire stay, staff were less than helpful and totally unsympathetic on the concerns raised by many guests.

Not the best maintained Staybridge I have stayed at. The rooms could use a facelift and the pool area was unkempt and unsafe (litter, worn furniture, broken/missing handrails). The food options at the social hour were not very appetizing. The property was clean however and the staff were nice and helpful.

The hotel staff was very kind and welcoming. The hotel was in a safe location, it was clean and the free breakfast was good. Awesome pool too. We didnt get a chance to use it but got a nice view of it

Wifi did not work for Nintendo switch. Pool was closed for maintenance. Auto switches like front desk did not work. Fairly clean. Beds are decent. Nice to have a microwave and fridge/freezer. Free breakfast was a nice amenity. Overall not bad but room for improvement.

My family was so happy with our stay here! We already said if we’re ever in the area again, this will be our spot. The staff are the best, the breakfast was so convenient and the pool was a nice size. The rooms were clean and we really appreciated the free laundry machines. We stayed for almost a week and truly enjoyed ourselves. It was awesome for the really affordable price to stay somewhere so nice!

I liked the reception when I arrived, non cumbersome check in . And facility is clean. Serves good breakfast and dinner ! Pool is clean too!

This should not be a IHG hotel!!! Furniture in room dirty. Patched ceiling with trash cans you see it for leaks. Stains on walls and lamp shade. Lighting in rooms are terrible so dark and depressing. Pool was also dirty. Breakfast always put away and cleaned up before time the told me it ended.

We got a room with a kitchen. Wish that it was a little bigger than it was, but we made due. Dishware, cookware, u the utensils, etc was supplied. Our room didn't have a table with chairs so that was a bit of a bummer, but only the big suites do. Pull out couch was small, but my kids' were able to sleep on it. My husband and I slept on the Queen bed It was too uncomfortable for me as I could feel the springs in my back, so I had to sleep above the bedding. Breakfast served daily was free, some tasted great, some not so much, in my opinion. Mon-Wed evening, they have a social with dinner, so we did that a couple of nights. Love that they accept ESA animals so the pet fees were waived. The staff were very friendly. We didn't get to use the pool due to the water being green. We also didn't take advantage of the outdoor grills or fire pit, so I can't say about those. Overall was a great stay. Oh yea, one little minus was that the fridge kept making a loud noise, and it took a bit for the maintenance man to be notified but when he was, he came up to check it and stated that it was the fan motor. He sprayed it temporarily and ordered a new one, so as soon as It came in, he came up and fixed it so no more loud noises at night.

The room overall was cleanly and not in good condition. Stains on bedding, stains on towels, hair on floor and carpet. Both queen, bed and twin pullout bed were horribly uncomfortable, and mattresses need to be replaced.

Spoke to staff and because the room was dirty eith boogers on my sheets and toe nails in the bathroom they agreed to compensate $75.00. Expedia needs to contact the hotel and credit my credit card

I was sent an online check in form which asked if I had any special requests. I asked to have an early check in despite check in being 3:00pm. We arrived at 2:10pm and asked for an early check in but the manager told us that the room wasn't ready. A staff person checked behind him to find out that the room was ready- he just didn't want to be bothered. She told us we could come back up to the desk at 2:30. Nothing happened between 2:10 and 2:30 - it was ridiculous. The woman who helped me was awesome and even she knew how ridiculous the manager and the other staff person were being. We didn't argue at all, we just asked what the purpose of an email being sent the day before asking us if we had any special requests was - there was no response which was also annoying, but it was not like we were asking to check in even an hour early! Finally, at night I woke up to go to the bathroom and there were bugs crawling around the bathroom floor and on the wall. We will never stay here again and we will be leaving a terrible Yelp and Google review as well. Terribly run establishment.

It was fine for graduation weekend, but i just could not get over the smell throughout the whole place. Very unpleasant.

Very nice suite and it was clean. Loved having 2 bathrooms. Beds were very comfortable.

Th a rooms are very spacious! There was a stain in the tub that is the only reason for the 4 star vs 5 star. But otherwise it was a nice and clean place to be. I’d stay here again.

The bed was not comfortable and seemed very small for a queen. I ended up on the couch and had to use towels as a blanket.

I reserved for Wed-Sat but couldn’t arrive until early Thursday—I think if I’d booked directly with the hotel, they would have canceled the booking, but because it was through Hotels.com they had retained my suite. Other than that, the service was great. The room was fine, with a mix of synthetic sheets (sweaty) and cotton, and some rough repairs of water damage. Bed was fine, good pillows, generally clean and basic.

The rooms are nice if not a bit in need of updating/repair. Overall, the hotel is cozy. Breakfast isn’t my favorite so I usually eat elsewhere. The policies regarding pets are applied differently (or not at all) depending on who is working, which can be frustrating. I’ll stay here again because it is convenient but nothing about my experience here has been a “wow.”

The room was clean and comfortable. However, there was definitely a stench in the room. Also, the neighboring room was quite noisy late into the night making it difficult to sleep.

We reserved a suite with two queen beds and was given the 'last room' upon arrival. One double bed with a small couch that didn't even fold out for a bed. Our daughter needed to sleep on the floor and they were out of pillows and blankets too!

Building is very hard to find. The sign out front leads you to the Ramada Inn next door. The Staybridge building actually has no signs or markings on it at all. My GPS wanted to take me in circles around the business park. The front desk was vacant when we arrived but as I was going out with a luggage cart, Ant (Anthony) met me and took care of everything...great service Anthony, thank you!. Overall very nice room for the money.

I booked a room with 2 bedroom suite and then when I arrived it wasn’t available!! What is the sense of booking though you folks. Very disappointed. I am never using you again.

This has always been my hotel of choice. The room layouts are nice, beds are comfortable, and location is ideal for someone traveling through the area frequently. Each time I go to this hotel (over 15 times), I've always had a pleasant experience. My most recent visit was very disappointing. Each of the times I've visited this hotel, I've had my dog with me. This was the first time that the front desk staff told me that I would have to pay a $75 dollar fee (not a deposit). I would not have been upset if this was a regular practice but to start requesting a $75 at the time of check-in (after numerous stays without the charge) was shocking. I also discovered that the floor I was staying on (not the room itself fortunately) smelled terrible upon stepping off the elevator. I told the manager and he said that other customers said it smelled like marijuana (it didn't...it smelled like feet).

These are the kindness patient people i have ever traveled with as far as Hotel stays . AMAZING!

The breakfast and social hour were very nice. Also music in the lobby was a good touch. Staff very friendly.

Nice room. Walked to grocery store, restaurants, etc. They have some kind of social hour at 6, I think Mon-Wed. Tuesday of my stay was bugers and hotdogs with salad, beer, and wine. Very nice.

Location a little hard to locate. Navigation with I95 very confusing but the hotel was good. Breakfast needs a little improvement and supplies needed. Especially COFFEE.

The hotel is old but we got a great room! It was a two bedroom suite and perfect for our family of 4 adults and a small dog. The location is good. Close to food and shopping. There's an Acme and Walgreens right across the street. The only bad thing is it's right near a toll so we paid the toll several times going back and forth for activities. There's probably a way around it but I didn't take the time to figure it out.

Overall great stay last weekend, will say we reserved a studio suite with queen bed, however the bed a small felt like a full bed. Very small bed. Only comp, besides not having a stopper for the tub, went to front desk and told the guy at front desk, who said someone would bring one up, but it never came. Would’ve been a 5 star, but bed sucked. Get there early if you intend to enjoy the free breakfast, because if you arrive after 8, everything will be already gone.

Check was very efficient. Front desk allowed us to check in early. Room was clean and comfortable. The only problem we encountered was at breakfast which was supposed to run until 10:30. At 10:00, there wasn't anything left. The kitchen staff said sorry, they ran out. No coffee, no eggs, no waffles. Was able to get some scrambled eggs by special request and some coffee after reminding them twice.
