Great property, amazing views, nice beach access and friendly staff. The only challenge was eating in the restaurant. You have to make reservations in advance of your visit! The decor was fun, the lobby great to hang out in and the front desk and housekeeping crew were friendly and helpful.

Pros: Staff was great- very friendly. Just steps away from the beach and they provide towels and a beach chair to use. There is a small convenience store on the property. The beds are very comfortable. Beautiful views. Located near the Aquarian and the zoo. Both within walking distance. Cons: No parking- you must valet at $40 a night. No coffee or anything nearby to eat unless you eat in their restaurant- which is a locals spot to eat and very expensive. If busy you will need a reservation to eat there. ( yet sits on the beach which is an experience) Would definitely stay there again.

Kaimana Beach Hotel is a nice property in on the edge of Waikiki with friendly and welcoming staff — special thanks to Alyssa, Anna, and Josiah for making the experience feel warm and hospitable. However, for the price point, I felt the amenities fell short. There was no gym on-site, and we were informed that microwaves couldn't be delivered to rooms. When we requested an additional lounge chair, we were told none were available. We asked for a knife to cut some fruits purchased from a farm, we told that they are unable to provide one. The $50 daily valet parking fee also felt excessive, especially given the limited added value. While the staff was consistently polite and helpful, the surrounding area can be extremely noisy, which affected the overall sense of relaxation. Additionally, the restaurant lacked inclusive options for vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free guests, which was disappointing. Overall, while the hospitality was excellent, the lack of amenities and limited dining options made the experience less than ideal for the cost.

Absolutely loved my stay here! The location is amazing — the hotel sits right on the beach with easy access to the ocean, and you really get that laid-back Hawaiian vibe. There’s a restaurant, a coffee shop, and even a small store right on site, which made everything super convenient. One of the highlights for me were the complimentary activities: morning yoga, paddleboard lessons, and an evening stargazing session with a passionate local astronomer using a telescope — such a unique and magical experience! The hotel also offers Hawaiian cultural classes, which I, unfortunately, didn’t have time to attend all of, but I loved knowing they were available. Overall, the hotel feels warm, welcoming, and very well thought out. The only downside (which is out of the hotel’s control) was that we stayed during Memorial Day Weekend, and the nearby park got quite busy and loud with music and crowds. But apart from that, everything was wonderful. I already miss it and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Nice boutique hotel on very nice, uncrowded beach away from the crowds of Waikiki. Easy entry into calm water. Chairs, umbrella, towels provided at no additional cost. No pool but wasn’t missed. Restaurant upscale, food very good, but a bit too expensive.

Kaimana Beach Hotel is a lovely place to stay. Right on the beach, and guests enjoy an open lobby, lanais off their room and an excellent restaurant, Hau Tree Lanai right on the beach. Staff hauled our bags up and down the stairs to our second floor room, which was appreciated. Valet parking at $40 per night is a bit steep, but street parking is really not available and probably not safe.

Staff were incredibly helpful and nice! Bikes were a huge perk, you can ride around Waikiki beach and access nearby restaurants. The beach was lively and beautiful, we saw lots of turtles and even some seals. The restaurant in the hotel is also good with nice ambiance. Everything was close by, but it was nice to be a bit away from the main tourist area. I'd definitely stay again if we come back.

Love the location and stuff is excellent, but 1. We book the room with kitchenet but it was on 3rd floor WITHOUT elevator, so we had to change to smaller room, but with nice view. 2. They have a problem with restaurant. There are NO breakfast, instead they have “brunch” that start at 8 am and coming from east coast it is a problem. They do not have real room service and the first day we came they could not seat us for dinner as they were overbooked. 3. Bathroom is tiny and there are NO hooks, none. Nowhere to hang towel.

Despite no pool, the beach right in front of the hotel is a jewel : swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding, surfing all possible! A boutique hotel feel, we appreciated the extra activities for guests (yoga, lei making, stargazing, etc) wonderful staff too!

The location of this hotel is great but everything else was mediocre. Parking is $40/night for valet or you can self park on the street and a daily resort fee of $25/day for random activities you can sign up for each day. Fortunately, we were able to find parking during our stay. The good: location is literally right on the beach, the free water refill stations, the rooms was really nice with a balcony, and the convenience store right downstairs. The bad: it looks like they've done some renovations but the hallways were just so awful and smelly. No decor, always had a strange smell and theres only one ice machine on the 8th floor. I paid extra for an ocean view corner room but I was mislead and didn't realize there's a crappy version of that and it wasn't quite what I imagined. All in all, the location was great but I wouldn't stay here again, especially considering the medicore amenities and smelly hallway.

The room they gave us 528 was old, overlooking the parking lot and top of other buildings when we had reserved an ocean front jr suite. We made the reservation through expedia then added more days to our stay. When we got there they said this was the room we reserved and to take it up with expedia if we didnt agree. The curtains didnt work, the door got stuck and they never changed the sheets in 1 week. They just made the bed! But we still paid the price for an oceant front jr suite...expedia did credit us 300 dollars but at the end kaimana hotel chrged it to us in resort fees. SMH Not booking through expedia again and definitely not staying there ever again either!

Love this location and the beach the hotel is on. the restaurant is top notch if you can get in. Be sure to make dinner and breakfast reservations in advance! Staff was friendly. Housekeeping was a bit off but it's Hawaii!

Not a great hotel- more like a poorly run motel. The room smelt really bad of mould/mildew so we have to sleep with the door open all night. Only one chair provided on the balcony and the entire place felt like management didnt really care. We were checked in by Chad who showed no interest and was blunt and rude. Book somewhere else!

Location on the beach was lovely. Room was very very small, with hardly any room for suitcases. Had some annoying noise in the room until ~9pm. But the staff were kind and willing to move us to another room; just as we started packing, the noise stopped.

The rooms are VERY small. You walk outside to get to them like a motel. Everything feels clean and fairly updated, but definitely not worth the price they’re charging. Location is good, quieter area, but walkable to a lot of main Waikiki.

Incredible ocean, park and Diamond Crater views. This hotel is literally right on the ocean-not just across the street. It’s an older hotel but it has been renovated and has a cool mid century vibe. We loved the bar and restaurant as well.

Water pressure in the shower was really weak. The room is very small. The beach front and view was a plus but the beaches are public so lots of locals on the beach .. and limited space. They also only provide chairs and towels.. wish they could also have provided umbrellas

This place was perfect except for the bed. It was the softest bed I’ve ever slept it. I felt like I was sleeping in a marshmallow. That might have been ok but there were clear indentations where people slept and sat on the side of the bed. The view was spectacular though.

We had a wonderful stay at the Kaimana Beach Hotel. The staff was excellent and the amenities like the onsite convenience store was perfect. After we switched rooms from 414 to 614, we had a much better experience with the view of Waikiki. Our biggest feedback regarding our stay was the bathroom and the bed. The bathroom could use some hooks for the shower towels to hang and dry. There's only one hook at the entrance to the sink area and it's not enough to accommodate drying 2 separate towels. Plus, having a hook in the room with the shower will improve the shower and drying experience. The bed itself was not the most comfortable because the springs inside seemed quite worn out, creating arched positions which is not good for most people's backs. We recommend replacing the mattress with newer springs. Outside of those things, the room was great.

Room was good and ac quiet and effective. Our only disappointment with the hotel was their WiFi. When it worked - which was only occasionally - it was great. But kept losing connection and not wanting to reconnect.

Nice hotel. Requested early check in but got late check in. Had to ask everyday for items for room as maid didn’t provide items and didn’t clean room one day. Staff friendly. Hostess very strick on arriving to dinner a few minutes before reservation. Old chair and table in patio. Nice room and location. Beach chair use was nice even if chairs were not great. No food options for 2 hours prior to check in time frame. Stayed in older building so can only speak for that side. No elevator.

This was a fantastic hotel. We were treated royally. They let us into our room early, provided great service, and gave us a complimentary extended hour checkout. The view was incredible. The room had a great layout. Resort fee was well worth it for the amenities. Will definitely come back and stay longer. It felt like a private beach.

The hotel was ok. The service was not as friendly. Left early one morning and the valet parking wasn’t available. I got the keys from the front desk staff and was sent to find my car. When I got back I parked it myself and the valet was upset that I had done that. I was very confused. There was valet offered or pretty much required but only when it was convenient to them. I met so many friendly wonderful people during my trip to Hawaii but this hotel wasn’t like others. I hope to get friendlier people next time I visit.

I was looking forward to staying here but we decided to cut our trip short and leave two days early. The staff were incredibly unreasonable and unkind. We tried dining in their restaurant as we got in late and there are already very limited options on the island because of the fire. They refused to accommodate anything for vegans. No vegan options and no willingness to cook anything for us. What’s the point of staying on a resort if they refuse to make anything. The chef was rude. The staff were unwilling to help. And it left a very sour taste in our mouths. Would not recommend this place to anyone who has dietary needs. They are not only unwilling to help but inept and unkind about it. I won’t be returning ever again. They also had multiple broken things in our room, didn’t restock soap, or give us bottled water. I wasn’t impressed at all.

The property is right on the beach. It is less crowded than near Waikiki. The area at the beach is protected by reefs and is not as turbulent of a surf. Great area for SUPs, swimmers, snorklers, and families with young kids. Would definitely recommend to family and friends. It is more of a walk to food, restaurants, and parking is expensive. The hotel itself is not modern or updated. It is nice and clean.The staff is very friendly and helpful.

I had a wonderful stay at Kaimana. The location is perfect, the ocean in front, Diamond Head on one side, a park on other side and the Aquarium down the block. From the moment I arrived the staff were professional, friendly and quick to respond to any request. The hotel is older but I actually enjoyed that; it felt a little old-Hawaii in a good way. My only complaint are the surprise incidental (?) fees of $40 a day (I think its a 'resort' fee?), I didn't plan for that. Other than that it was perfect

The staff were very attentive and the bartenders made great and unusual drinks. Guest services were very helpful with requests. My only issue was as a guest staying at the hotel I was limited to availability for the dining room. I would suggest saving some tables for the in house guests at the hotel. I definitely would have eaten at the restaurant more.

It's great that this hotel is right on the beach and one that isn't as hectic as Waikiki. We also liked being so close to the aquarium and zoo. What wasn't great? To start with, the only staff that really acknowledged us around the hotel were the valets and the cleaning folks. All the rest never said hello or made eye contact unless we approached them and I mean passing them in a hallway etc. it was odd. The food they served was overpriced (which was expected) and really mediocre. They had limited hours in the restaurant so you'd have to walk to Waikiki if you wanted to eat anything but convenience store food outside those hours. The lobby was nice enough but the hallways, rooms, and elevators were somewhat run down and there was a persistent smell about the place. All in all, we wouldn't stay there again and would just drive to Kaimana Beach if we were in the Waikiki area.

A beautiful hotel and very comfortable bed and room. The convenience to the beach is only footsteps away. Very quiet property. We loved being away from the hectic business I’d Waikiki Beach and the beautiful park just across the street. On the other hand, the cocktails were terrible. We had the worst mai tai ever after many trips to Hawaii and enjoying numerous mai tais elsewhere four of us agreed they were absolutely terrible. Not your typical 1944 mai tai.
