Ocean City Views at Island Colony wFull Kitchen Close to the Beach

I arrived Sunday night to be informed the pool would mot be open until Friday instead of Monday but they still charged me the $200 for amenities like pool, sauna and hot tub which were closed. I also was informed House keeping is every 3 day and you habe to ask for it. Barley any basic for the so called kitchen. Property is old and needs upgrades

There were roaches in the room, the pillow was so hard and uncomfortable.. they offer room cleaning once every 3 days. The pool is shut down for two weeks. We requested a high floor in advance and were still given one of the lowest ones.

Property was in close proximity of shopping, dining and beach. The option of pool and jacuzzi, mini market, laundry and fitness center on the 6th floor was a nice extra for the days we didn't want to go out. Staff was nice. Property offered 24 hour security with cameras in the common areas. Room we had was a bit outdated but served it's purpose.

I’ll preface this by saying I don’t mind older hotels, provided they’re clean and well kept. The IC is neither anymore. We’ve stayed here before but won’t be back. It was not only dated, but in quite a state of disrepair and dirty. The mattresses and pillows were both lumpy and rock hard with no support. And to top it off, the pool was closed for annual maintenance but neither the hotel or hotels.com gave us any warning. Super disappointed.

My family loved staying here. The rooms were nice and clean, the beds really comfortable, the balcony with table and chairs overlooking the canal and if high enough you can even see the ocean. We loved the pool and hot tub and enjoyed laying in the cabana to just relax. Definitely would stay again.

Property is old, neighbors were noisy, window ac unit was too small & old for the room size. I was ok with all this, but on my last day there, there was no water from 8.30am to 5pm. I had just come back from a hike, had a flight late afternoon & couldn't even shower, this is unacceptable! won't stay here again...

There were bugs in the room. Check-in was difficult. You had to wait forever for the elevators. Parking was confusing. The door to the bathroom was not working.

Location was good. View from the balcony was gorgeous. Pool and jacuzzi were nice. Most of the staff were nice. Everything else, not great. Saw a roach one night. Outdated old rooms. Reserved a room with 2 queen beds, got 2 doubles instead. Both mattresses were sunken at the edges making for backaches. Water was shut off 10am-2pm for 4 days for maintenance work which we didn’t know about until we saw a sign on the elevator. Mini kitchen came with pots and pans with Teflon coating completely scratching off. Parking was $35/night. It’s our first time on this island, and I found out the units are individually owned, so hopefully I just got a bad unit.I don’t know how it got rated 3 star hotel with 7.4 reviews when it was motel quality.

Staffs are super nice. Location is pretty nice, close to shopping center and beach. Property is outdated. The elevators that are in the building a gong show, you never know which one is going to open. Pool is clean, but the hot tub was pretty gross. Can get loud since property is beside a major road.

Carpet were nasty,bed sheets had stains, roaches around the night stand

I did not like the cockroach in the bathroom and spider. Drapes were dirty and wear and tear.

I stayed at Skyline Hotel in Hawaii and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience. I woke up with multiple itchy bites, which were confirmed to be from bed bugs. This was extremely upsetting and made my trip very stressful.

This property should not be accepting guests until it undergoes major renovations. Our pre-cruise stay, meant to be relaxing, turned into a nightmare. The room was dirty, smelly, and infested with roaches. I didn’t sleep for two nights, killing bugs and keeping the lights on to stop them (unsuccessfully). I had to repack everything to avoid bringing them on the cruise. The carpets, walls, and surfaces were clearly not clean. The pictures on Expedia were completely misleading. The AC was loud and outdated, constantly waking us up. The outlets on the bedside lamp didn’t work, and there were no USB ports - something even budget hotels now provide. The check-in process was slow and frustrating. We arrived late due to a delayed flight, had to wait in line, and then the front desk staff went on a phone call without apologizing. Then I had to sign an unnecessary long form which was all about their charges for lost key cards or towels. Housekeeping is only done every three days, which likely explains the roach infestation as trash is left sitting in the room. Expedia should not list this property without a proper inspection. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. Please stay away from this place if you want to enjoy your travel.

Rooms need to be updated. Drapes were extremely past due to be replaced. Can’t beat the view of the ocean, canal & Diamond Head. Pool area and laundry were great.

Bathroom was very small, and the bed and pillows very hard. The view of the Ala Wai as well as the balcony was nice. Hotel security was a little rude.

Three-star hotel with motel-like facilities and decoration. The furniture in the room is very cheap. The kitchen facilities are very limited. There is only one knife, which is too dull to cut mangoes. There is no fruit knife. There is only a very cheap small aluminum pot, and no pot for boiling soup. There are only two packets of coffee, but no creamer. The spatula for stir-frying is a very cheap plastic spatula. The air conditioner is an old window-type air conditioner, which is very noisy. It is basically impossible to sleep with it on at night. The parking fee is 35 yuan per day, but the parking lot is very narrow, and only compact cars can be parked. Dispoint on the hotel, with this price.

The pictures are misleading. The room has aged, hence the furniture was in a questionable state, the mattresses too. The carpet needs to be changed. There was a hair hanging from the ceiling in the bathroom, soap marks. The wifi wasn't working at all (the router was dead), and the pool was in repair. I wouldn't recommend this place as it wasted the last leg of our dreamy trip to Hawaii.

We didn’t get the room we paid for, there was someone smoking and our room constantly smelled like smoke, the AC didn’t cool and we had to sleep with our portable fans on. Kudos to the staff they were friendly, understanding, and very nice.

We had an absolutely wonderful time! Everyone was so friendly! Our room was upgraded to a king suite due to a booking error. Our views were the best, we could see the canal and the ocean from our lanai. With Diamond Head being the focal point. Absolutely perfect! When we visit again, we're coming back!

Most standard rooms are small and quite dated with window shaker A/C Units that were quite noisy when trying to sleep. Also our bathroom sink was also our kitchen sink. We were moved halfway through our stay into a one bedroom suite much larger and had standard high wall A/C Units. Staff were pleasant.

The beds were a bit uncomfortable more on the hard side. 😬 the internet was not working. They did said they were going to refund us for that. I will have to wait 5-7 days to see it on my statement.

There were 2 good things about this hotel - the view was excellent, and they were good enough to receive an important FedEx packet for me ahead of my stay. Everything else about this hotel was subpar. All of the furniture, right down to the front desk furniture, looked like it came from the Goodwill store. The check-in process was terribly slow. The bathroom was tiny. The pillows were lumpy and hard. And they charged me a $30 "amenities fee", which was not disclosed when I booked, which is a violation of Hawaii state law. And they were just the standard amenities that most hotels automatically include in the room rate. Would not recommend.

I had to book another room because the front desks would not let me check in. The room was reset was paid for, and I had the itinerary, in hand. They would not amend the reservation because I reserved it through you guys. So I lost my points and the money for the first registration.

Workers were friendly. Our room wasn't ready when we got there. Waited for 30 mins. Went back, waited in a long line & it still wasn't ready. So they gave us an upgraded room but we requested 2 beds for 4 people but got a 1 bed room. Room was in horrible condition even tho it was an upgrade. Smells & no AC. Switched out to a 2 bed. Room had roaches & possibly bedbugs. My kids had bug bites on their bodies. We ended up staying just 1 night. No one got any sleep. Front desk was very nice tho.

The check-in staff were amazingly helpful and friendly and very easy to work with.

The location was excellent. You can walk to restaurants and shopping. The building itself is outdated but kept clean.

i enjoy the walking distance to all the stores. there was always parking in out hotel. staff was very friendly and ready to help.

It was a decent place, not very fancy. Room was in OK condition. We never had cleaning service though which we would have liked since we stayed four nights, but it was a pretty convenient place. Everything was at walking distance, beach, shopping stores and restaurants.

Good stay close to the main walking street Kūhiō , and beach. But a bit out dated rooms are a bit run down but for the price it’s ok.

Loved the distance to Waikiki.

Fantastic area to stay. Lots of things within walking distance. The Bus is excellent to get around Honolulu.
