The Hyatt Place offered easy access to the beach with plenty of restaurants nearby. Easy to grab a towel and walk to the beach. We loved the daily breakfast and the staff was very helpful. Valet parking was quick and easy. Pool was closed but we enjoyed the area beaches. The Dominos pizza was very handy and there was a food truck set up nearby. Parking is expensive but well executed.

It is in a good location and it’s easy to walk to find good restaurants and shopping. The 20 story building only has 2 elevators. It took about 10 minutes each way every single time we needed to use the elevator. Stairs are an option but didn’t work for us because we have a 3 year old. There is no self parking and the $55 valet was full every night when we got to the hotel. We had to find parking up the block at a parking garage. Super inconvenient.

I enjoyed my stay at Hyatt Place. The one downside was that the pool was undergoing renovations and we were able to use it, however the hotel arranged for guests to use the pool at a nearby hotel during the renovation period. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you’re looking to stay close to Waikiki Beach as the staff is really nice and I felt very safe staying here.

Excellent beach near hotel Clean room, spacious room, good water, clean toilet. Good room service, excellent variety morning break fast. We stayed in 15th floor for 3 days, daily room is cleaned and towels are replaced with new. Only parking on hotel, outside is difficult, generally they charge 55 USD for 24 hrs, I would suggest to use hotel parking, so you don't need to drive here and there in night to look for cheap parking. I ended up paying 48 USD outside, which allows only one time check-out. But hotel parking is 55 USD, can do multiple check-in check-out with your car. This area is very crowded like NY city.

We had an overall pleasant stay at Hyatt Place in Waikīkī with convenient access to the beach. The free breakfast and filtered water refill station in the lobby were a big plus. However, the pool was on a smaller size and not even open during our entire stay with no prior notification. Also, our room was not available when we checked in at 3PM and didn’t receive any contact from the front desk like they said they would when taking down our names and contact info. We had to wait until 8PM after dinner and decided to head back to the hotel and asked again. The hotel is also smaller than most others nearby with only 2 elevators so patience will be required when waiting or riding with many stops in between.

The front of house staff were friendly and provided assistance when required. The room and bathroom were both tired and required complete refurbishment. The shower and bathroom had not been properly cleaned before our visit. The breakfast was just awful, certainly not of a standard that one would expect at a Hyatt Hotel. So pleased that we were only stopping one night!

General Cleanliness and parking was the major issue with this hotel. From breakfast area to cleanliness in room, everything was awful. Birds attacking breakfast area and room wasn’t throughly cleaned before our arrival. Headbands, used toothpicks and other trash were lying around near sofa bed. PThere is no parking for guests. Hotel has valet parking only and the rate I paid was $75/ day for 5 consecutive days.

Cockroaches!!! Soooooo many. Soooooo disgusted. The halls never vacuumed sandy every day. Breakfast was terrible food selection so boring and the birds eating ypur food and harassing you trying to eat was awful. Pool was closed down.

Overall, the property is decent due to its location. However, the two elevators they had were barely ever both working. That was super inconvenient. Their valet was ALWAYS full so we had to park at another hotel’s lot across the street - which was kind of awful considering we checked in closer to 11pm. I’ve never been at a property where they literally run out of parking. Lastly, the area around our two queens, either the bed itself, the floor, or the pillows reeked so much of urine and we couldn’t figure out where it was coming from. The free breakfast was mediocre. The staff, for the most part, was friendly. Unfortunately, we would not stay here again.

The location is good. There’s a huge problem with parking in Waikiki. Average price to park a car is $45 per night. But there’s a couple of streets where you can park it for free near the hotel. The only one thing - our shower got clogged one night and we had to wait till the morning for them to fix it

Our room was great. I will point out the we paid extra for an ocean view and there were buildings blocking much of that view. The breakfast was very good. Though you do have to eat outside which is tricky in wind and rain. We really enjoyed our stay the only big issue we had was there are only 2 elevators for our tower and one didn’t work consistently. We used the stairs to get to and from the 12th floor many times as the elevators were just so slow or didn’t work.

My only complaint is that it was a little noisy however we were only on the 2nd floor. Breakfast was ok. Not bad but not great either. Free breakfast so no real complaints. The coffee was good! The staff were very accommodating. After checkout we were allowed to leave our luggage for a while since we had a late flight and wanted to go explore without all of the luggage instead of spending countless hours at the airport. They also refrigerated my wife’s medication until we were ready to go to the airport. Very helpful!

Everyone was Locke by the room assigned had a horrible view of another buildings alley way and the floor had service bins in the hallway at all times. I loved everything about the staff and location but the room assignment was a miss.

The room was a good size and the beds were comfortable. The buffet breakfast was nice each day and the pool was a good size for the kids to relax in at night. If you are in the main building expect a long wait for the elevators almost everytime you need it. We had family in the other tower and those elevators are way faster and have 3 instead of 2. My only other disappointment was the "beach view". It wasnt the balcony like its shown in the pictures. Instead it was a small window over the desk you cant open and our balcony view was the hotel across the street.

The staff was amazing! At breakfast they were always very thorough at keeping food stocked, plates and tables cleaned and evening trying to manage the birds (which are an issue at almost every establishment we went to with open seating/windows to the outside). Appreciated the cleanliness of my room every day, access to towels, beach chairs and boogie boards to the beach daily. Though the pool was not accessible the neighboring pool which we had access to was nice and clean (not heated- so beach was a better option for us bc pool was very cold!) Location very close to the beach, shopping and food trucks. The staff even knocked off some destination fees for us due to the construction and lack of pool, even offered us an alternate room. What a flexible, hard working and pleasant staff they have at this location.

I’ve stayed at this hotel four times over the past 12 years, and while I’ve had good experiences in the past, this recent visit was disappointing. The first night, the AC didn’t work at all, and for the next two nights it was so loud I couldn’t sleep properly. Although I reported it, I wasn’t moved to a new room until I complained again. Housekeeping also took three requests before the room was cleaned. After the room change, the rest of my stay went smoothly, and the staff were polite and professional. I hope the hotel improves its responsiveness and maintenance moving forward — it has been a favorite of mine for many years, and I’d love to return to the quality I once experienced.

It was not disclosed that if you have a reservation you may not have a parking spot and have to find your own. Front desk was very rude about it. Valet asked my husband to drive around the block and did not offer to help get luggage out first. Very poor experience.

Staff didn’t honour VIP access. We were placed on the lower floor, facing someone else’s washroom/laundry room. The “balcony” had no view and actually posed a security concern, since it’s easy for someone to climb into our room. This ‘VIP access’ is more like a gimmick. Don’t expect to be treated like one.

This hotel was a huge disappointment. When we arrived, they failed to provide the twin room we had reserved and instead gave us a room with only one bed. We had to wait until the next day to be moved to the correct room, and the entire process was frustrating and poorly handled. There was no compensation offered, not even a proper apology. The staff were shockingly arrogant and made no effort to correct their mistake professionally. Completely unacceptable service — I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Closely located to Waikiki beach and surrounding shops/eating options. Public transit and trolley nearby. Staff very friendly. The temporary breakfast set-up was wonky having to go through the gym. Staff trying to hard to chase birds away but the open air setting made it near impossible. Breakfast selection was OK for a buffet.

The hotel has a good location, many shops and restaurants walking distance. We stayed 5 nights, we went to the beach only once, because it was always packed. Too many people everywhere, Waikiki is a beautiful place, a metropolitan city with a beach. It has a party city vibe, not my type of vibe.

The Hyatt Place Waikiki was a wonderful place to stay in. The staff was courteous and readily available at all times. The hotel is within a couple of blocks for the beach, near the zoo. There's a target within 10 min walk. The valet parking is always busy, so plan to wait a luttle bit for your car. They are great though! Loved staying there.

Great location! Walkable to many places: beach, store, dining, zoo & so much more. Clean room and sheets. Staff was friendly, great customer service! Dislikes: Booked an ocean view room, but my balcony faced the hotel that was across the street. Only ocean view was through a small window or sitting sideways on the balcony which still gave only partial view. Also, I was on the 18th floor, hotel had one working elevator the entire 5 days we were there. Workers came the last day when we were checking out.

Hyatt place is very close to the beach. There is a wall by the beach which it makes a lot safer for the kids to swim. I think over all Hyatt is a good place for family special if you have kids. The only problem is the parking is super expensive. The good thing with this hotel is the free continental breakfast and close to shopping area and restaurants.

Good & very convenient location. Cleanliness is maintained well and the employees are very friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel has many free amenities to take advantage of such as beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, volleyballs, etc. Would highly recommend this hotel!

This place makes it sound like it is on the beach. I was pretty let down to see it was at least 5 buildings back off the beach. My ocean view room had some ocean views but the the main thing I saw was the condo building in front of it with a bunch of junk on the balcony. The pool is tiny and on the 3rd floor so you can't see any ocean from here and it felt like you were in the middle of buildings all around. The breakfast was good and the room was spacious. The staff was very good and friendly. The happy hour beers were still double digits which was crazy to me. I liked how they provided chairs and towels you can take to the beach even though the chairs were quite worn. The metal water bottles and filling stations were very helpful. Overall I felt somewhat tricked because I thought we were up front along the beach as it says in the name. I should have stayed at the Hyatt Regency over this hotel. After a few days I moved to a different hotel on the beach.

Hotel is very good. Very close to beach. Provides free towel, chairs. Only negative is breakfast area is very small for the hotel of this size, gets very crowded and since it’s an open area, there are lots of birds coming and attacking food. Bird feathers and poop can be seen. Apart from the breakfast area, everything else is top notch!!

Close to the south end of Waikiki so very walkable, staff was very friendly and helpful. I knew the pool was out for maintenance and the sister hotel’s pool was very nice. Disappointed in the breakfast which was only assorted premade Jimmy Dean sandwiches.

The breakfast area was messy and dirty and uts too open where birds eat with you and flies. Elevator takes long and front desk is very slow i guess the lady was on training?they kept asking for my credit card saying it wasnt save. Then people just come to drop off beach stuff and bother the check in process. Wish someone is assigned for that.

Parking situation was such a mess. When we arrived on a Saturday evening, we were told valet parking was $50/night and unavailable but there was a self parking garage nearby for similar pricing per night. The garage was full so we spent a bunch of time trying to see where to park. We ended up parking at the zoo, as it was one of few lots open and was more affordable. We had to worry about parking at the end of each of our long days out—so that was a huge inconvenience for our trip. Walking to and from the zoo parking lot to the hotel with our young family was not always the best. The parking machines at the zoo allow you to enter in your cell phone number for them to text you when it’s time to renew your parking hours, but not all the machines allow you to do that (we found out the hard way)—my husband had to walk over there at 1am one night to renew the ticket as the machine he had used didn’t allow him to enter in his phone number. SUCH a mess… I get parking in the waikiki beach area is notoriously busy. Each hotel needs to have something set in place, arrangement with another hotel parking lot, maybe the city can think of more parking lot area…something! Anything! It was an added stress. The breakfast buffet had great variety each morning, but they need to have a larger area available and also not have it outdoor or consider different area as it was overrun by a bunch of birds! It was kind of gross to eat at tables with bird poopy chairs and them flying around.

Family of 5 with teens and an 8 yr old, stayed here for a week during the tsunami warning. The hotel manager on duty advised us what to do (suggestion: stay above 4th floor, as they will move you above that level for safety purposes) and fire alarms and speaker in room were working fine throughout the event. Food was predictable with Jimmy Dean sandwiches every other day leaving us wanting for a special breakfast and change. Otherwise, very walkable and near trolley stops and very conveniently located near beaches and zoo, and restos.

So busy , more staff needed . Breakfast was disappointing to say the least. I am sure many people would book this for the complementary breakfast- don't bother Overcrowded limited horrible food. We went elsewhere to eat. The pool was being fixed but it was so small wouldn't have mattered it was ready. What they call a "restaurant " on site offers only a few options and the only people we saw there were those who had heated up noodles in the microwave. Location was the best thing about this hotel and we had a great view on the 14th floor.
