The location is the best part. The beach is just a couple of blocks away, there are plenty of tasty food options around, and Target is really close if you need any supplies. Most of the hotels in Waikiki are a bit outdated, and this is no exception. The air conditioner is by the floor in the living room, so the cool air doesn't reach the bedroom well. We asked for a fan and got one. 2 out of 3 bulbs by the entry/kitchen had burned out and couldn't be replaced, which was unfortunate. Only 2 of 3 elevators were working, so elevator use was sometimes slow. Housekeeping only cleans every 3 days, but the room was pretty clean and you could request extra towels, put your trash bag in the trash chute easily, and ask for extra amenities at the front desk. If you have small kids- I was surprised that our room on the 29th floor had windows that could be opened normally, and the balcony railing looked like a small child could fit between or underneath the rails. Please be careful! The lounge area was large and very convenient and comfortable to use after we checked out. The pool was small and there are no umbrellas for shade. Staff was very nice and helpful though it took a long time to check in at night since there's only one staff member at the front desk in the evening. There were a lot of useful items in the room, like cooking utensils and a rice cooker, but we had to buy things like salt and pepper, and a broom and dustpan. I enjoyed our oceanview room.
