Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach

Parking is way too expensive. On top of the room, taxes & RESORT FEES, you have to pay $58 per night just to park your car. I mean, what else can we do with our car. We couldn’t get a room on the same floor with our other party. For the amount of money you pay for the room, you could be more accommodating. It was so disappointing.

The Courtyard Waikiki was fine for our purpose of being in convenient location and met our expectation of comfortable beds and cleanliness. We were not told in adv that the main pool was under construction, nor was the initial front desk clerk forthcoming re us being able to use the pool at their sister hotel 1 mile away, which was very nice. Walls pretty thin, able to hear neighbors. Luckily the a/c blocked out most of the noise. $35 daily destination fee seemed steep for what we got plus the place for the amenities was a solid 20min walk from the hotel.

Everything you need are only a walking distance. Lots of things to try out, biggest zonk was parking. $60 a night

Construction is going on in the hotel.

Pool was closed down, and we were not told in advance. Rooms are really small, and noise level from outside was bad and I had to change rooms.

Major construction happening, pool and Hot tub also under renovation. From 8am to 4p sounded like jack hammers in upper floors. Not able to rest. Rooms are super small, shower stall is like a small closet.

traveling on business to Honolulu, be alert that many hotels charge "resort fees" that will never be used, i.e. beach chairs, sun lotion, etc...this is an unfortunate tax that needs to be an option not a requirement hotel advertises fitness center but it is "under construction"...option is a 15 minute walk to another hotel..and desk clerk stating "it will be a good warmup"

We weren’t happy with our overall stay here. The onsite pool is under construction! I wish they would have notified us or at least mentioned this on their website as this was the main amenity my family was interested in. We didn’t find out about this until we checked in. It felt a little deceiving, if we had known about this, we wouldn’t have stayed here.

Hotel only has valet parking which is $61 a night. That is not listed in the extra fees for check in or anywhere that would expect to find added fees upon arrival. The hotel pointed out that it is listed under the amenities as an added bonus. Not quite a bonus when there’s no other parking option provided.

My rating is more to the building and cleanliness; not the staff, the staff was amazing! But if you’re looking for a nice, clean hotel this is not it unfortunately. The shower floors were dirty with hairs and the wooden bathroom door was rotting away so disgusting. The walls were dirty in the room too. Even hallways to the room was not well kept. I think they’re updating, but I booked the Marriot because usually their hotels are so nice and this one was not. So if you’re looking for clean don’t book here; but if you’re looking for close to bars and cleanliness doesn’t matter to you then this place would be great for you!

I’m disappointed in the location. I would have believed a Marriott world better amenities and welcoming. If it wasn’t for the fact it was Hawaii, this is the worst. TV didn’t work on my last day of my stay. The shower was not big enough for a 6’4 individual along with the small bathroom together: I felt claustrophobic. Hair on the floor and the door looks like it could be pried open with little or no resistance. Not what I was expecting or used to. Disappointed.

Location is good; close to everything. Shower room is very tiny and room service always forgot to supply something. Staff is not friendly.

Expedia didn’t note that the property was doing remodeling. So when you get there after checking in they hit you with, we're doing dome work on the 11th floor and up. So you hear drilling, hammering, talking and tool dropping from 9 am to 4 pm. Then the carpet smelled old and mildew. The basic room is like a closest. You can barely move in there. The pictures on the website are very deceiving. The staf was nice and friendly. The most fun is in the BAR! The bartender is the BEST!!

This was the dirtiest, run down hotel I've ever stayed in. All of the rooms (we switched 3 times!) smelled like mold. The carpet and couches were disgusting. We ended up asking for extra blankets and sheets and I draped the couch with the sheet. Unless you have the room that has a tub, the bathroom is laughably small with a shower stall that's, not an exaggeration, maybe 3ft by 3ft. This hotel feels like it hasn't had a single update or modification since 1960 when it was probably built. For the price and location, I was expecting a much better experience. The only saving grace was the staff, which were all absolutely amazing.

When we arrived we were given a room directly in front of the elevators so we asked for a different room. The different room bolt lock was not working and the safe was almost completely ripped out of the wall. So we get to a 3rd room and the refrigerator wasn’t working! We settled with this room and an engineer swapped a working fridge. Room was ok could be cleaner. Rooms definitely need upgrade and cleaning could be better. I noticed that the bathrooms in the premises in lobby and swimming pool hasnt been clean all day. Saw my Coffe cup I threw in the garbage in the morning still in the same garbage in the evening. That goes to tell me they don’t clean or wipe down common areas. Every night was a band playing next to property until 1-2 am. Plus side great property. Easy access to in and out of Waikiki. Close to everything. Location great. Will I come back to this hotel? Maybe.

The property was relatively convenient to walk to shops, food, beach, etc. the staff were kind and very helpful. Was not happy that our room was in a second tower we needed to walk across the parking lot to get to. When we arrived, no shower curtain in bathroom. Tub was peeling, and couch was covered with stains. The main tower was clean, however swim area seating and cushions were also stained and appeared icky. The floors in tower 2 lobby were rarely mopped. Old food and dirt layed on common walkways 5 days of our visit.

The hotel was dirty Everything is so Old. I don’t mind old but soooo dirty . Garage everywhere,ice machine Brocken Asked stuff for help getting ice but they didn’t know where to get it . The guy from the reception desk was very rude with my husband I’m a member of Marriot and I stay in many hotels in Mexico but this one was HORRIBLE

Cleanliness needs attention

We couldn’t open the bathroom door at 4 am and we had to wait until 6 am for someone from the engineering department to fix the lock. Housekeeping is every other day, but it was very superficial. They didn’t vacuum or clean the sinks. One of those days we didn’t have towels. The information in Expedia for this hotel is kind of deceiving. The amenities are not what Expedia shows.

The tower behind the main check/in area is outdated and uncomfortable. VERY noisy to street traffic and neighboring rooms. It sounds like there is a bird sanctuary inside of the room so be prepared to wake up nice and early to their beautiful singing. Great time to go to the beach though! Comfort wise, the bed is subpar and comfortable for about ten minutes at a time. Super great location BUT it’s not at the beach! A few blocks away and a short walk will get you there. BUT the word beach in the name is misleading as it’s not close enough to qualify as a beach hotel imo. Lastly, I tried to call the desk multiple times to no avail. No call backs, just kept ringing one time and a busy signal the other time. I am sure the main tower is in better shape as it looks newer but the other one not so much.

Close to so many shops and restaurants and the beach. Peekaboo view of water. Great view for Friday night fireworks. Rooms are small but adequate. A lot of "city street noise" but worth it to be so close to action. Only 1.5 blocks from pick up spot for many excursion tours.

Good. It’s just that I booked for Queen size bed and they gave 2 full size beds and the shower area was a little bit smaller.

Air conditioning didn't work well, the rooms are small and need updating and the shower was sooo small.

The room was tiny, dated, and the lock to our door was hard to open (safety hazzard!). The lobby, elevator and cafe look great -but the hallway to the room and the room itself did not match it at all.

Pool was lovely. Shower was nice. However, some things worth mentioning. Rooms were super small, could barely get into it with bags. Doors were wooden and rotting apart. Hard to open. Our toilet wasn’t clean. Coffee maker didn’t work initially. They were doing construction the entire time we were there, so while trying to sleep, you constantly heard rattling and power tools. For over $240 a night it didn’t seem worth it to me. Probably would go somewhere else next time.

Room has a split AC unit that makes more noise than a wall unit. Room is on the smaller size and the shower is so small, I thought I was in a cheap Japan room.

Just not a great well maintained property. Felt the room was very dated. Bed was horrible. Vanity for the suite bathroom was tiny. Room was not to expectation.

There were not enough towels in the bathroom, so I asked a front desk to have housekeeping stuff to bring more towels. It took more than 3 hours for them to bring the towels. They said that they did not have enough towels....??? We asked a front desk to have a bellman to bring our luggage to the room since my wife and I had bad back. We waited more than 2 hours and finally we gave it up and brought all lauggage by ourselves.

Definitely centrally located. Beds were really comfortable and the room was clean. Staff was friendly. Great place to stay.

My room wasn’t ready until two hours after check-in. There was a line 20 deep. I have never experienced this before. I guess it’s because no one wants to work anymore and they didn’t have enough people to clean rooms. It was sad.

There was an issue with my card and instead of sending an email or a call or text, they locked my friend out of the room. I had just talked to someone at the desk the day before and nothing was said. All they needed was for me to ok for them to charge more to my card. And instead of telling me that on the phone, I had to come all the way back to the hotel to just tell them it was ok.

This was our second time staying here. The first time was phenomenal, which is what prompted us to stay again. Unfortunately, we won’t return. The staff were professional and friendly, but communication was lacking. The pool was shut down the morning after we arrived for renovations. While there was a much smaller and less desirable pool available on site, it definitely dampened our vacation mood. If there had been any communication regarding the main pool not being available during our stay, I would have booked elsewhere. After long days of hiking and exploring the island, my wife and children wanted to relax at the pool. This wasn’t really possible as the only available pool was small and continuously occupied by teenagers who were constantly being inappropriate with their language and touching each other. We were almost at the end of our 8 day trip when we learned from another guest, rather than hotel staff, that we could use our hotel key to access another hotel’s pool about 10 minutes away walking. The lack of communication was frustrating. On top of that, for the first four or five days, I had to call for housekeeping at the end of each day when we’d return to our room. I honestly thought we’d return to fresh linens or at least clean towels so we could shower, something that’s typically taken care of by housekeeping in the middle of the day, but no. This was just not a good experience. I may one day give them another try, but it will not be on our next trip.

The front desk people were very impatient and rude.

Was in a prime location in Waikiki. Very convenient and comfortable place to stay. I will return again.

We chose the hotel because of the proximity to the beach, restaurants, etc, and we weren't disappointed in that regard. It's very centrally located and within easy walking distance of many things in Waikiki. The drawback with that is the rooms were very loud at night, especially rooms facing the street. You could hear every muscle car, loud conversation, drunken celebration, outside. The location and ambient noise isn't the hotel's fault, but if you're looking for a good night's rest, this probably isn't the hotel for you. The reason we would never come back here was the cleanliness/smell/overall condition. We booked two hotel rooms on the same floor. The kids room had a pretty funky smell, but was passable. Our room was so foul smelling, I literally gagged. I'm talking cesspool/rotten garbage disposal bad. They were able to move us to a room on a different floor (not convenient having family on a different floor, but o well)... it also smelled funky, but at least I could bear being in there. The rooms were pretty dilapidated too... you expect a minimum standard of cleanliness and upkeep in a Marriott, and this was pretty beat up. Overall, pretty disappointing... even with the good location we will definitely stay elsewhere on our next trip to Oahu.

Nice location and very safe and close to everything and buses are very accessible anywhere you want to go. Close to Waikiki Beach and International Market Place and close to restaurants and shopping.

loud and outdated. the paint in the bathroom was chipping off the walls, i could hear every sound from outside even with the balcony door shut, the balcony locks were janky but passable, and the shower was all around unpleasant. the bathroom was tiny and the shower was just about big enough to stand in. the soap dispensers were poorly secured. both the body wash and shampoo containers had fallen off the wall, and the body wash was completely empty. I asked for it to be refilled, but was instead given a tiny container of soap enough for a single shower. there is no complimentary breakfast or coffee in the morning. staff are appropriately kind and exactly what i expect from a Courtyard Marriott property. there are plenty of tourist shops nearby and multiple bus stops. the main door is locked after 9 pm. the hotel is fine, but not worth the price

They advertised breakfast and was a reason I reserved for my daughter and they did not have it to provide.

Hotel is a bit old. Views meh. Pool jammed between parking lots with little sun. Nice staff. Good coffee place.

Read the fine print, you cannot park anywhere near the property as they require valet at a steep 58 plus tips per day. That adds a considerable amount to your stay. Restaurants are not great. Would not recommend.
