LIV Hotel Bronx GRAND OPENING

Area does not feel safe. There's one microwave for the entire building. There is no tea or coffee. Anyone can wander in off the street and go to the rooms. They ask you $100 cash to check in early (seems like a bribe?). Parking is first come first served, and you'll probably get blocked in because there are about twice as many cars as there are spaces. One car had been broken into. The parking ramp is so steep it damaged my car. There's no phone number to reach them. The room was dirty. The heat didn't work and there was only one very thin blanket on the bed - very cold overnight. No hangars. Sink and shower leaked (flooded the bathroom floor completely). Shower water wasn't very hot. Not enough towels provided. The bulletproof glass around the check-in desk is so thick you can't hear anything they are saying. Fire alarm going off multiple times at night.

The property itself was amazing. The room was amazing. The front desk staff was amazing. Super clean room. Comfortable bed. Quite. Now the bad part. There was one thing that I experienced that truly made my decision never to stay there again. It was parking. This hotel has maybe 8 floors with maybe 8-10 rooms on each floor, but only has parking on site for maybe 12-15 cars. I do believe that a few of those cars I believe belong to the staff and never move ( unfair). There is absolutely no street parking nearby. One night during my stay, I arrived at the hotel around 1:15am. I literally drove around until 2:25am before finally finding a place to park. Even then, it was like a 20 minute walk to the hotel and it was pouring down raining. The neighborhood leading to the hotel at that hour in the morning was not safe at all. Just vagrants, homeless people, crank heads, etc were out. It was also raining the next morning so I called a ride share to take me to my vehicle. Definitely don’t take away from the beauty of the actual hotel, but for sure takes away from the experience. My thoughts would be to figure out a solution for the parking to better insure the safety of your guest. Not to sound sexist but I can’t imagine a woman having to do what I did ( especially if she has luggage). Maybe purchase a van and use it to shuttle guest to and from the hotel from wherever they have to park 24 hours. Even if a fee is involved, this would be a great option.

I booked because of the reviews were good. But the reviews in my opinion were not true. Parking they do have but it’s very small maybe 12 spaces so it’s street parking. I didn’t leave my hotel because the parking space on the street would have been gone. Quite not at all. I walked down the hallway from elevator and could here what every room was watching or listening too. Smoking I had to ask if I had a smoking room because it smelt like smoke weed and cigarette. I was told I had a non smoking room. In the morning I was woke up by the smell of my neighbors first smoke of the day. So bad. Very small room. It was modern decor had to ask for an iron none in the room. Had to iron on the bed cause they didn’t bring an ironing board with it.

There’s no vending machine, food, snack, snacks, or drinks. Which sucks when you’re in an area that you are unfamiliar. Stock up before you check in.

It advertised free parking however that is only first come first serve. Although we did find a street parking, I would have preferred to park at the hotel. The hotel was extremely loud and echoey and all the noise was coming from inside not outside banging doors, squeaky elevator, thin walls, etc..

The property is new and in very nice shape. A BIG thing to be advised of, however, is their offering of free parking. While the parking is free, this eight story hotel only has literally about 8 legitimate spaces in which to park. More people than that actually wedge their cars into unmarked spaces. So if you do find a place to park, good luck getting your car out (seriously). Street parking in the area is really, really problematic. So if you are staying with a car, beware.

There were no amenities. Just a lobby with an ice machine. The building displays free parking with hundreds of rooms but only 7 or 8 parking spots. I gave it a 4 because it was extremely clean

You could tell that parts of our room hadn’t been cleaned in a while. There was a stain on the pillow and the phone was covered in crust and dust. The picture of the rooms online look much nicer than what the room looked like in real life.

Biggest negative was no coffee maker in room or lobby. Room appeared clean but lots of stray hairs on bathroom floor and shower

The hotel is new and in a busy area of the Bronx, that locals felt was pretty safe. It is conveniently located near a subway stop (10 minutes walking) and as a Baltimore native the area felt reasonably safe to us. The parking lot is small but serviceable and convenient given parking in NYC. Overall cleanly and reasonable but our sheet had a small drop of blood on it. The desk person promptly took care of the issue when it was raised.

Room was dirty, visible hairs on sheets, weed smell through the whole building. Never coming back

This property served the purpose for our one night in the Bronx. That said, the hotel being new was a plus. The elevators were fast and the rooms were minimalistic which I liked. The showers had no place other than the floor to place the soap, which was very poor quality, even for complimentary hotel products (bring your own soap/shampoo). The towels had stains on them and the toilet, sink and shower did not look to be sufficiently cleaned. There was hair in several places in the bathroom.

Dirty sheets they need to do better walls, all dirty

I am not sure if we just got a bad room or what. Upon arrival to our room, it smelled like someone had been chain smoking in there for days. Overall it was clean but there were no hangers in the closet and not even one hook to hang towels in the bathroom. A desk but no chair. It did have a mini fridge which was nice. When I asked for hangers, they brought 3. The hotel staff was very friendly and location was good, convenient to the train. Free parking if you get there in time, otherwise it's the street or a garage. I was really hoping this would become the go-to spot for visiting my son at Fordham but I will keep looking.

The property was very clean, the room was very modern. The bathroom had lots of hot water. The towels were clean and soft. The king bed was clean and comfortable. Parking was free and on site. The property is located in an inner city area so there are lots of places to eat. Cons:The upramp to the parking is low and can damage under your car. No sweet spot to the room temperature. It is adjustable but it was either too hot or too cold. The train runs right outside the hotel so it can be a bit noisy. It was still a nice stay and I would stay here again.

The property was very clean and the decor was nice however I didn’t like that there wasn’t an iron & ironing board in my room. I did not like the area that the hotel is located at in.

Very clean. Parking was a bit difficult as the lot was very small with limited spots. The nightstand had outlets but didn’t work because the nightstand itself wasn’t plug in, with no outlet near to even plug it in ourselves. The shower was nice but had zero shelves so your stuff was on the floor. Also wish there was a safe, and hangers for the closet (the rail was there to hang stuff but hangers weren’t provided). It was a bit noisy, you could hear people in rooms all the way down the hall.

Extremely noisy hotel, every night I was woken up by banging cleaning ect. The hallway lights of the 8th floor were never turned on, all three days of my stay the hall was dark. My wifi did not work for the entirety of my third day.

Small but very clean room. Kind and attentive staff, and very quick check-in and check-out process. Relatively close to D line to Manhattan, and one block away from the train to Grand central. There is zero soundproofing on the building. You can hear loud and clear the people in the other rooms, the noise on the street, the train passing by. One thing that was really weird, the staff was cleaning and sweeping the hallway every night at 3-4am. I traveled for work, and, overall, I barely managed to get some decent sleep.

The hotel is new. Conveniently located. The service needs improving. I send emails prior to arrival no response , i called via telephone no answer until the naight i arrived at the airport and was on my way to the hotel. The reception was smooth and easy. The room was clean , the ambieane nice. However, the room was not cleaned for five might i spent there. After the thrid request for clean towels, the receptionest personally deliverd the towels. When travelling for a short stay and your out for long hours , you just wantt get back to a clean room , to enjoy the few hours rest that you can get. Reason for rating 3. I hope the service improves . I hv recommended the venue to a colleague for a one night stay . Ii will properly check it out again. Will check reviews to see if service improve.

I was initially unsure about the parking lot due to the limited number of marked spaces, but Ben came out and reassured me that my vehicle was fine where it was parked. The property is conveniently located near my clinical site and within walking distance of a local supermarket, as well as several eateries, variety stores, and places offering diverse ethnic foods. The 8th floor would be perfect if the hallway lighting were brighter — had my room been around a dark corner, I would have requested a different one. The housekeeping staff was also very accommodating, promptly providing extra towels and blankets when requested.

New hotel, clean and looks OK. The receptionist was unhelpful, claiming he couldn't see the reservation and that I should handle it myself with Expedia because it wasn't his responsibility. Only after I instructed him to double-check the confirmation number did he manage to find the reservation. The hotel was OK, but the service was poor.

The front desk lady was very cooperative and understanding of a situation and was willing to help and facilitated my stay. because of their good customer service, I will be staying in that hotel, every time I’m in the area .

The front desk agent was super rude and the room wasn’t clean to standard

This was my worst experience booking a hotel. The are was super unsafe and dirty. About 12 minutes walk to closest train and about 1.5 hours far from downtown new york. There is a train passing right below the window so even in the room it’s very noisy. Not any microwave and water fountain in the whole building. The water in the restroom was orange one day. But the worst part was that one day when we got back home, the door of our room was open while we closed it when leaving. And when we told this to front desk staff he was not responsive at all. Fortunately nothing was stolen but I am sure even it was, no one was taking the responsibility.

The 2 train to NYC was a very close, a short walk around the corner. McDonald's and a nice local deli nearby for morning coffee and breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. Clean, modern room and amenities.

Location was very convenient for Montefiore hospital. I highly recommend they give complimentary ear plugs with how loud sounds travels. Everything happening in the hallways sounds like it’s in your room all throughout the night and early morning, and everything that happened in the room next to us we heard especially in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, but there was no fitted sheet. The smoke detectors are covered which makes sense because it smells like weed in the building, and the peep hole was plugged which we found weird. The tv didn’t connect to the wifi but we brought a Roku so we were fine. The staff was kind, and the room and lobby were clean and the parking was ideal for our situation with the hospital. If you need an affordable clean room this place will work, just definitely bring ear plugs if you want to rest at night.

Not the greatest area but the hotel was nice and very clean.

Overall it’s a great hotel with great qualities for its price range especially in NYC. However it does have its flaws parking is limited. It’s not located in the most cleanly of areas but where the hotel itself resides is clean. The microwave and coffee are in the lobby which makes warming up food or getting a cup of coffee awkward. There are ample food spots within walking distance and even laundromats for extended stays.

Our stay was very safe, very clean hotel. Very comfortable. Just a few tips for hotel management. Shower needs a soap dish or liquid soap shelf, no where to put soap while you’re showering. This makes it difficult for older people to have to bend down to grab soap or shampoo from the shower floor. Also, towel racks, none in bathroom to hang towel. Rooms should all have microwaves, not very convenient to have to go to lobby to use the only microwave in the whole hotel. Absolutely no kind of amenities… maybe like a lil area in lobby where one can purchase a bottle of water, soft drink, snacks, etc etc. Other than that, very nice stay! Good Stay for the area and Convenient! Just a heads up no vending machine on sight other than that all Good in my book would recommend for a stay
