Here's the headline: this unassuming hotel in a not-very-busy part of Ohio is way better than it has any right to be. Sure, it's conveniently located but that's just the start. It's staffed by friendly, capable people who seem to actually care about the quality of your stay. They have Costa Coffee machines that, at a moment's notice at any time day or night will grind fresh beans and brew you a cup of coffee right quick. The breakfast is plentiful and varied. We're talking little omelettes (regular and egg white), granola and several kinds of yogurt, sausage gravy and biscuits, a robot that kicks out two pancakes at a time on demand, and delicious cinnamon rolls. The rooms are clean and just the right size. The in-shower dispensers have Dove body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. One thing to note, they are indeed seriously pet friendly (everyone seemed happy to see our pups!) but there is a pet fee of $50 flat (no matter the length of the stay). We happily paid it though because I know having pets means extra cleaning is needed. The only thing I wished they had was an electric car charging station, which seems almost like a natural thing they could do with the car dealership right next door. Maybe someday. But seriously, this place is fantastic and we will be back!

It was dark when we arrived and there was NO LIGHTING in the parking lot. Manager said something about the timer was malfunctioning but they would come on by 8:15 which they did but by then we were already unloaded. I specifically asked for a receipt at check in and was assured I would get one when I checked out in the morning. Didn't happen. Desk girl was unable to figure out how to get a print out. Assured me she would email me one. It's been 14 hours and still nothing. Called and asked for manager. Not in. Left voicemail but still waiting for her call. Very disappointed in her attitude and willingness to solve the problem. I asked her to call someone to help and she said she didn't want to wake up the manager.

One shouldn’t need to check the sheets before sleeping in a bed. My daughter and I stayed in a room with 2 queen beds. She noticed in the morning after waking that there were short black hairs on the pillow case and bed sheets. Neither one of us have short black hair nor do we have pets. Obviously the hair was not from us. Went to the fitness room to run on the treadmill. There were no sweat towels, no paper towels and no cleaning supplies. The treadmill was very outdated and DIRTY! Also, since the fitness room is connected to the pool room, there was an overwhelming smell of chlorine and not ventilation making it impossible to breathe well enough to run. I am not picky and rarely leave a review. However, for the amount of money spent to stay two nights and would like to save other people from wasting their money.

Called to see if we could check in one hour early because we were traveling all over Ohio that weekend for hiking and a concert. The lady at the front desk said absolutely not because they were so busy. We went there anyway and she did let us get our room. When we walked into the room we were overwhelmed by a musty smell which I’m sure is mold. The room was so damp. The carpet and bed sheets literally felt wet when you touched them. I contacted an Expedia travel agent to get us a refund and out of that room because I was worried about breathing in the smell all night. The manager did accept the refund because my room was technically not refundable so I am thankful and appreciative for that. Overall I would not stay here ever again.

Liked that hotel was newer, clean, great breakfast, had nice snack options to purchase, couple miles from small downtown area of Vermillion and the beach and Lake Erie. Nothing else immediately close by except a car dealership. Room was very nice also, except that it was right next to the door that leads to the stairs and elevator to lobby and the door slammed everytime someone used it which was a ton of times especially early a.m and bedtime. Made it hard to sleep. Issue definitely needs addressed for a non slamming door. Also, supposed to be compensated for the noisy room experience. Everything thing else was great and would recommend.

Room was clean and quiet. The free breakfast in the morning was great. Only complaint is that there was no one to great us when we checked in and we had to wait around for five minutes or so. Not the end of the world but annoying when you’ve been driving for hours and just want to check in and go to sleep.

Trey at the front desk was great and Tammy in the breakfast dining was super great. I enjoyed seeing her every morning and look forward to seeing her again in November at my stay. She made sure everything was stocked if it was available. And was upset my last day because things were missing and not available for her to put out. That was not her fault and is a problem she should not have.

Desk clerk denied 2 credit cards and 1 debit card. I called Bank of America and all three cards had no issues. This was an error by the staff member as she ran my credit card again and it went through. I was on phone with BOA for 30 minutes before I got through. Also stressful as I did not have another card to use. I think the clerk realized her error but did not admit it. She also suggested my cards would be denied in Ohio even though I had used my credit card for gas. Very sketchy service.

I came into town for a wrestling tournament and it was a great nights stay, I especially liked the different pillow selection so I found a favorite which led to a great sleep! Right off the highway and a perfect layover or if you want to explore some of the cool little restaurants and wineries in the area. Lot's of tv channels for sports and a great hotel in every aspect

Our stay here was pleasant . The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful and the complimentary breakfast was tasty . The location was convenient and quiet. Drive time to cedar point was about 20 minutes and around 35 minutes to Cleveland.

It was in Vermilion, Ohio just minutes from the downtown area where the Wollybear festival was being held. The festival was the primary reason we booked a room at the Holiday Inn. It was very conveniently located right off the freeway exit. The check in staff gave us a map to the downtown Vermilion area and told us places to eat dinner in town and where to park for the festival. The hot breakfast was generous and we found our room to be very clean and welcoming.

Asked for help with TV & no one came, breakfast was terrible, boy who worked at breakfast couldn't even bring a wet rag to wash off used tables. He brought a dry paper towel. Coffee machines needed constant attention which didn't get done, pancake machine didn't work, the eggs were like rubber.

Property looks new and is in very good condition. Rooms were very clean. Staff was friendly with the exception of the young man that was doing the breakfast area the first day (8/19/25) of our three day stay Both coffee machines were labeled as not working, there was no gravy for the biscuits and gravy, the pancake machine was off and there were a couple of other items missing. The young man was just lazy. Fortunately, another lady came in and turned the coffee machines on. The other two days the breakfast area was excellent because someone that cared was taking care of things. Hopefully that young man was fired or found some place else to goof off.
