The lodge wasn't far off the main road, but was surrounded by trees and greenery and was very quiet and secluded. Unfortunately, the pool, which looked inviting, was closed while we were there. Also, there was a sign in the breakfast area saying that pastry was available on the weekend, but it never materialized. Otherwise, the room was spacious and clean. Would definitely recommend it to others.

Our stay at the Wilder Inn was relaxing and pleasant. The building itself was probably built mid-century so it doesn't have a lot of charm. However, there are chairs outside each room and tables and chairs in the courtyard if you want to just relax and the weather is nice. When we arrived the manager greeted us and was there to talk or give us recommendations on the area. The rooms were clean and well stocked. There were additional towels, toilet paper, etc. in the lobby as it was not staffed overnight (although there was a number to call for emergencies). Breakfast was very simple - oatmeal, yogurt, and pastries, as was advertised. There is a sitting area in the lobby you can take advantage of whenever you would like. I understand there are new owners and they may make some changes in the future, but we liked it just as it was!

The coffee was very good! The bed was comfortable. The sheets,floor, bathroom and the property were clean. The manager Trent was cordial and informative. Parking was ample and accessible to the rooms. I would stay here again 😊

Staff was very nice, lobby very neat and clean. The complimentary water, coffee and cold breakfast foods was a nice touch. The parking lot area by the swimming pool was pretty dark at night, no lights. Rooms were average, nothing special but nothing bad. Walls are very thin... Could hear actual conversations from the people next door. The deadbolt on the door to the actual room did not work. Overall, just average. Maybe just add some more charm to the rooms by way of decoration and add the lights.

Very Door County quaint. Nice woodsy surroundings. Its an older property just off of 42 but extremely well kept. Within a 5-minute walk from Wilsons ice cream in Ephriam. Convenient to things to do north or south. Two floors with stairs. No elevators. Nice lobby with 24/7 free coffee. Beverages are $2 on the honor system. Maid service for multi-night stays is not provided unless requested. Continental breakfast 7-9 AM daily. We recommend this resort.

Swimming Pool was closed, tub drain was clogged, bath towel rack fell off the wall and pillows were like baloons. I was given 2 room keys one was for the room next door and the other didn’t fit my room and I didn’t realize this until I returned that evening. After 5 minutes I was able to get the door unlocked. Almost had to call a locksmith.

We checked in and our room and had no electricy and a floor lamp with a severed cord. We alerted the front desk staff , who located the breaker and turned the power back on. He also removed but did not replace the broken floor lamp, and showed me how I could turn on the breaker if the power were to go out again. The room we were in smelled like a mildew basement, and several spiders were found over the course of our three day stay. The hotel has a pool, but it was half empty, full of leaves and other debris, and unkept. Weeds were growing all aroung the wooden pool fence which needs to be painted. The room was clean, but needs new carpeting and furniture. The tv was placed in a corner of the room, 15 feet from the bed, making it difficult to watch. The outside of our room door was covered in spider webs. The parking lot is not lighted, so you are in total darkness late at night, which can be creepy. Our room was directly over the Office, so in the morning we could hear the staff or other guests talking On the positive side, the hotel offers complimentary coffee and breakfast in the morning, and is in a good location with walking to nearby shops and restaurants..

This stay was to enjoy fall colors and to be quiet and restful. This lodge was just the right place. A small lodge with a little out of the way (1/2 block) from the main road and the shopping, restaurants and the water front. Easy walking distance to beach and restaurants. The lodge is dated but "Very" Clean and Quiet. We left refreshed!

First, we had a hard time finding the property as there was no signage for Wilder Inn. The room was nothing like the pictures showed, not even close. I was not expecting anything fancy, but I do expect something like what the pictures of a single room show. I chose a "water" room, thinking that meant that we would have a water view, but that was not the case. I'm not sure what "water" means when choosing a room here, as none of the rooms had a water view. The shower did not drain well, and we had someone else's hair in the water that pooled around our feet. The positives were that the bed was comfortable and the location was convenient.

Room was clean and super comfortable. Only negative was a few things missing in the kitchen. Lack of eating utensils and dish clothes and dish towels. Upstairs guests were very noisy from midnight until 1:00 am, but that’s not the hotel’s fault. Owner was SUPER accommodating when our room was misrepresented by Expedia posting the wrong pictures. Location was perfect, being right in the middle of Door County. Wouldn’t definitely stay here again.

The room was clean, but needed updating. We never saw any staff except someone stuck their head out of a room that they were cleaning. There was no one ever at the lobby desk. The breakfast consisted of yogurt cups, bananas, Cuties, and day old pastries. Coffee dispenser was from the day before and cold. Kurieg cups were not stocked for morning coffee. Last day the lobby was locked, no one could get in.

Enjoyed the roominess of the two bedroom, two bath with kitchen & living room apartment. I was very impressed that the bathrooms were exceptionally clean with no bacterial growth around the sink drains. The owner, manager Mike, was a delight being approachable, informative and knowledgeable about the area. The property is quiet, nestled up to a wooded area with flowers & seating areas in the front courtyard. We didn’t use the pool, but liked its private location. The bay and downtown were a very short walk around the corner from the driveway. A very good location to explore Peninsula State Park from, we will stay here again if in door county.

It’s an older facility so the place reflects that. The location is good with easy walking to nearby restaurants. They do offer free yogurt, instant oatmeal and fruit along with coffee in the morning. It would be nice to have in room coffee makers. The bed was comfortable.

The place was very clean, comfortable and the staff EXCELLENT! I had booked (last minute) for 2 nights and was very happy to find a place that had availability. This was my first time ever to Door County and very happy we came. On our first day here, an issue came up and I need to leave next day. The new owners were very understanding and worked with me to resolve. If you want clean, comfort, great location please check them out. They will be my first choice when I come back.

Our stay at the Wilder Inn was relaxing and pleasant. The building itself was probably built mid-century so it doesn't have a lot of charm. However, there are chairs outside each room and tables and chairs in the courtyard if you want to just relax and the weather is nice. When we arrived the manager greeted us and was there to talk or give us recommendations on the area. The rooms were clean and well stocked. There were additional towels, toilet paper, etc. in the lobby as it was not staffed overnight (although there was a number to call for emergencies). Breakfast was very simple - oatmeal, yogurt, and pastries, as was advertised. There is a sitting area in the lobby you can take advantage of whenever you would like. I understand there are new owners and they may make some changes in the future, but we liked it just as it was!

We loved the location!! Breakfast left a lot to be desired, on the info sheet at hotel it was called continental breakfast, and online it described it as grab and go. To me it wasn’t really either. We also had an issue getting clean towels, when we checked in the gal said place dirty towels in the provided bag, and set on chair outside door. No bag was provided, but they did pick up our dirty towels. Never replaced them, I checked in the Lobby area 2 different times to talk to someone, but the sign said will return shortly. Thank goodness the gal in the room next to us gave us some towels so we could shower.

Never saw an employee once. I understand it is now considered off season, but even when it was proper business hours, never saw anyone. Bit odd, the beds were terrible, the pillows were like cardboard. But the cleanliness and location were more than ideal. Overall, still a nice place, but bring your own pillow!

Be careful when booking your stay here. To our surprise we were charged 50.00 extra per night. We had a large two bedroom suite and the owner insisted it was policy to charge more to have two people in the extra bedroom. I have never heard of this. I have always just paid for the room or suite. He would not budge on HIS policy and was not even willing to negotiate. Poor customer service. The toilet wouldn’t flush and my husband had to take the lid off every time and do it manually. He advertises free breakfast but it’s just small generic oatmeal packets, yogurt and a bowl of fruit. We liked the location and would have gone back if we wouldn’t have been surprisingly charged an extra 200.00.

Great location just steps from restaurants and the shoreline. Quiet place to stay. The owner (Mike) was present at most times and was very friendly, accommodating and entertaining. It’s a clean, convenient, quiet place to stay and I would stay here again in the future.

Had a wonderful time at Wilder Inn. Some difficulty finding the property because there was no updated signage. The staff support throughout our stay was excellent! I especially appreciated the 24 hour access to necessities. The simple continental breakfast was great for a quick bite while on the go. Will definitely return to this property in the future!

First, we had a hard time finding the property as there was no signage for Wilder Inn. The room was nothing like the pictures showed, not even close. I was not expecting anything fancy, but I do expect something like what the pictures of a single room show. I chose a "water" room, thinking that meant that we would have a water view, but that was not the case. I'm not sure what "water" means when choosing a room here, as none of the rooms had a water view. The shower did not drain well, and we had someone else's hair in the water that pooled around our feet. The positives were that the bed was comfortable and the location was convenient.

Love this hotel. Staff is attentive and reacts with any needs promptly. Cozy rooms. Bonus site makes homemade pizza to order. After a full day of travel it was nice to go to the club house and order pizza and relax. Hotel was close to the bay and 30 minutes to Lake Michigan. We booked two rooms for our girls trip. Everyone was happy. We will return next year. Ownwer has a fantastic sense of humor.

Staff was very nice, lobby very neat and clean. The complimentary water, coffee and cold breakfast foods was a nice touch. The parking lot area by the swimming pool was pretty dark at night, no lights. Rooms were average, nothing special but nothing bad. Walls are very thin... Could hear actual conversations from the people next door. The deadbolt on the door to the actual room did not work. Overall, just average. Maybe just add some more charm to the rooms by way of decoration and add the lights.

It’s an older facility so the place reflects that. The location is good with easy walking to nearby restaurants. They do offer free yogurt, instant oatmeal and fruit along with coffee in the morning. It would be nice to have in room coffee makers. The bed was comfortable.

Very Door County quaint. Nice woodsy surroundings. Its an older property just off of 42 but extremely well kept. Within a 5-minute walk from Wilsons ice cream in Ephriam. Convenient to things to do north or south. Two floors with stairs. No elevators. Nice lobby with 24/7 free coffee. Beverages are $2 on the honor system. Maid service for multi-night stays is not provided unless requested. Continental breakfast 7-9 AM daily. We recommend this resort.

My wife found an Advil and debris under the bed as evidence it had not been vacuumed thoroughly. The carpeting was downright filthy. After just a couple hours walking barefooted in the room my feet were covered in a black grime. We also found opened bottles of drinks left in the refrigerator. I found some sort of bug crawling in my bed (actually have a video). We also discovered a lot of hair in the bathtub drain. Overall, I do not feel like this was a $200 a night (with taxes and fees) hotel room.
