Our first room had an over all chemical smell that smelt like it was covering up a cigarette smell. First room had no smoke detector. They did accommodate and move us. However we went to the 2nd floor and this would normally not be a problem but this hotel has NO elevator. So check in and check out was a nightmare. Also the towels are thin and useless with NO wash rags.

1. Property has no elevator and no first floor rooms available. 2. A personal item was accidentally left behind, and we reached out to the hotel immediately on the same date of our check out. Was told that the item was found and held in their office, and I could pick up at my convenience within 30 days. We live out of town, hence the hotel stay. I asked for the item to be returned via shipping at my expense. Multiple phone calls and messages were left with the front desk staff for management; no return call.

Granted this is budget accommodation, however would describe this as tired and shabby. Bathroom tile floor was in pieces , black mould around fittings, blackout on curtains holy, breakfast very poor, coffee only in lobby in pump pot, styrofoam cups, plates and plastic cutlery. Laundry not available, broken. No elevator. Highlight good parking and easy to find. Could be so much more.

When we first walked into the room it had an overpowering smell of strong Fabulosa or some type of cleaning product. Even the kids thought it was too much. The room had roaches in the bathroom and along the walls in the room. We saw at least 10 during the one night stay. We made sure to shake out all our items and left our bags in the garage when we got home so we didn’t bring them in our house. It was overpriced and not any better than a cheap motel.

Lets see, well there was a car on fire in the parking lot when I arrived which i assisted in putting out with pool water, the check-in clerk was literally coughing up a lung the entire time, the room was decent for the price but the in the wall AC unit sounded like a plane taking off all night and there were 4 very large roaches - dead - on the floor in the morning that were not there when I went to bed. Other than that it was a lovely stay.

Choose this hotel for price. Graduation weekend Texas State Uni. All hotels basically double normal rates. Hotel doesn’t have an elevator. Had second story room. Had heavy luggage and a dog. Common areas very worn. Room was clean. Struggled every time to close room door when leaving. Lock needed to be repaired. Saw staff on the floor and asked for help with door but they didn’t speak English. Room was on the front side of hotel and close to the freeway. Road noise was bad. Bathroom floor was tiled but had a lot of grout missing between tiles. Front desk employees were friendly enough. Parking was adequate. If ever back in San Marcos, TX would try to stay elsewhere.

Pictures looked great, first thing i noticed was the flooring was coming up. Secondly thw shower rod was lose and almost falling down. The ac was not the greatest. Then i had a crack head approach me outside asking if i was from therebintold him to keep walking.

Ive not woke up in so much pain, the bed and "pillows" were so hard I couldnt even move to get out of the bed. Had to take 2 extra strength Tylenol before I could move. The breakfast was sad. This isnt worth more the $50 a night even as a pass through 1 nighter. It definitely looked questionable pulling in to, the pictures make it look better than reality. There were 2 lights out and the shower curtain rod was bent and you couldn't close the shower curtain as it just slid back to the middle. All around not a great experience other than the staff.

The property manager and front desk employee were fantastic! So kind, helpful and genuinely interested in making our stay a good one. The room was very clean. Fresh beds and linens. The bathroom needs a serious overhaul. Rusty fixtures, holes in the walls- small, but there, just dingy. The towels though clean, were thin and rough. However, we needed a room for a night that was affordable. This was perfect for our needs. I would stay there again.

They advertised breakfast, but if there was, it was cleaned up before the 9:00 ending time. We saw a waffle maker, but no signs of waffles or any other food. The curtains in our room needed to be fixed to hang correctly. The bathrooms are always in need of some repair. This one had a few rust spots I. The shower/tub area. The shower curtain was torn at the top. I’m not saying it was bad, just not 5*

The room was good, shower area does not contain the run off from the shower. There was a surprise fro a small roach that popped out of the sink as I was brushing my teeth. The breakfast was less than desired, with hot cakes and coffee...no juices.

The staff was friendly at check in. I had called the day before to see if the pool would be open. I was told no, but it was open when we got there. One of our sheets didn’t look clean but the rest of the room and linens were okay. Don’t rely on their breakfast. There was only toast, a few muffins, and cereal (but the milk was empty). We ended up going to McDonalds. We won’t stay here again.

Hotel reaked of Pot. Was hot and muggy in the lobby and hall ways. Handicap room was the furthest room from the entrance making for the furthest walk to carry in items. Bedding had period stains on it, and the bathroom/shower area was not very clean. Finger prints left on all the bed/night stands. TV didnt work, phone was not working in the room. The back/side entrance was a narrow alleyway that was behind a dumpster making it where you could even see the parking lot. Not a safe exit to use at night which was dumb because that's where they decided to put the handicapped rooms also. Just felt and smelled dirty and like a Marijuana party at this hotel. Would never stay here again. We didn't even stay the 2nd night, we left the next day even tho we had paid for two nights. 0 out of 10 stars. Would NOT recommend. Location was great, everything else about it was NOT good.
