Great stay for college tour. Right off the Interstate, so when we were at the pool, it was extremely noisy. Breakfast has to be paid for or you can get it free by leaving a Google review. Customer service was great, especially in the restaurant. Overall, it was a good stay for one night and conveniently located to a lot of restaurants and stores.

A group of us was tubing the river nearby and decided to stay a night rather than drive four hours home and we are glad we did! At least for our experience, everything was great! The hot tub and pool was nice. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The beds were comfy and the room we had fit four people comfortably. However, I think it is near a railroad because we would hear a train throughout the night but besides that, we slept fine. There is multiple food options near by as well.

There was very little parking except in the very back parking lot, which as a female traveling alone was very concerning. The back parking lot had very little light and at least three or four spaces closer to the building had construction materials blocking them. The rooms were very dated with the tubs had dirty drains and general damage. None of the outlets or lamps had any USB capabilities and one of the elevators was broken causing delays. My TV remote did not work and the replacement remote would not work for the power button. The front desk gentleman that checked me in was wonderful. The front desk person who checked me out was a young lady was less than personable.

The room is old and dirty and the furniture is falling apart. This is the second room we tried. The first one had visible mold and smelled like mold. The pool is super tiny even the it looks huge in the pictures. I would never stay here again.

I selected this location based on the availability of the hot tub. I asked for location and hours which were perfectly communicated, however nobody stated the hot tub was a cold tub. Very disappointed. I returned to my room to soak in the tub instead, but the tub had no plug. I ended up plugging it with a wash cloth, I was desperate. The landscaping around the corner to the left of the entrance is quite unmaintained. The room had broken a light fixture, an unstable toilet seat (just needed the bolts tightened), but was very clean. Staff were very friendly and I LOVED the breakfast buffet!

Rooms smelled like mildew. Thermastat did not work. They never came and looked at it when we complained. Shower head was broken. We had to hold it to shower. Housekeeping was rude. We came in one night and the front desk girl had her head down sleep. Breakfast was terrible. We asked to check out after day 2 because we couldnt take it anymore but they refused to refund us so we just left. I don’t recommend them.

Very clean rooms, hallways and elevator. Noticed that cleaning staff would take there time to clean rooms it was 2:00 p.m. and still getting rooms tidy for other guest. Loved it!! Hadn’t stayed in a clean hotel in a long time. For sure staying here again!!

Upon arrival, I inspected the beds and both were littered with hair(s) and crumbs. It was quite obvious the linens/bedding had not been changed prior to my arrival. I took numerous photos and videos of such and notified Christian, front office manager. He asked him to please come view the room with me but he refused and said I would have to contact Expedia, third party, in order to inquire about a refund. He stated he could've processed a full refund had the room been booked directly through Holiday Inn or if I had been a rewards member.

We checked in for parents weekend on October 11th, 20 minutes later found a couple of lovely bed bugs on the pillow and mattress , the staff came in took off the everything off the bed and brought the fogger or the spray machine , went down the from desk were very apologetic and promised we get our refund in 10 days, we left and went to Austin because all the hotels in San Marcos were sold out including the Holiday inn or Bugs Inn , 6 weeks later and the manager have not issue any refund. Holiday Inn should pull their name off this property.

I was put in room 303. The room was clean and in decent condition. It was the second room from very near by Interstate 35. Looking out the window you are looking at the highway. The road noise was constant all night. It was not like a sound machine. Sirens and big trucks woke me up multiple times. The toilet also ran all night. I tried to heat up water to make tea in the Keurig in the morning and the water turned out yellow and had quite a bit of particulate in the bottom of the cup. I was only planning to stay one night. On the bright side, the staff was friendly and courteous. It is a safe and decent hotel. They just have some details to work out. The noise was a deal breaker for me. I wouldn’t stay that close to the highway again.

When we arrived and went to check in, the lady that was working the front counter told us that our reservation had been cancelled. I was very confused and asked why and she said that we didn't answer the phone when they called to ask if we still wanted the reservation. This has never happened before when we reserve a hotel through Travelocity. The air in our room was nice and cold until we went to sleep and during the middle of the night the air cut off and it wouldn't come back on until later on after we got up to get our day started. The air did this both nights. The shower head was broken in the shower and barely trickled any water out and the tub itself was so slippery that it would be a danger to anyone who's balance wasn't excellent. When I told the people at the front desk about these issues they acted like they did not care and they said that they would let maintenance know. We will definitely not ever stay at this hotel again. We were very disappointed from the time we got there until we left.

I booked and paid a month in advance for 2 queen bed and they “updated” my room to a king I needed 2 beds for 4 ppl. They had a major event and gave my room away. I travelled 4 hours to get this. How am I to sleep four in one bed? I had to cancel and go elsewhere.

We had a small hiccup with the AC not working when we arrived in our room. The front desk was sincere and quick to remedy the problem and placed us immediately in a new room. Besides that, it was a beautiful hotel and very comfortable beds

Property is hidden behind trees of surrounding properties, and has little to no road visibility until you're at the entrance. Only 1 entrance so if you miss it you have to make the loop (4minute detour). Lobby is clean, well lit, no films or dust. Check in is quick and easy. Door handle on the room was coming off of the door. Toilet seat was unsecured and angled. Lamps and fixtures inside the room were dusty, indicating they were never sanitized. Hairdryer and under sink shelf had a brown film that would not come off. Gym is tiny and has uneven flooring with notable lip, approx 1/2 inch, in the center. Free weights limited up to 50 pound dumbells, 1 inclining bench. Treadmills and ellipticals were serviceable. Gym has no dedicated hand washing station. Pool is small but fine. The inside dining is pretty good. Service team was outstanding. Absolutely excellent, personable, courteous, and knowledgeable employees. Area is <10 minutes away from a large selection of activities, restaurants, and businesses.

The stay was ok convenient for where we had to be the refrigerator didn't work. They didn't have breakfast. We went to the restaurant area where we thought we was supposed to go but found out later that we was in the wrong area and we would have to paid for the breakfast which ok because the person working the room was extremely nice.

needed a place to crash on a road trip so my standards weren’t super high but I chose this place over others around because it looked nicer and there was a bar. Photos can be deceiving. It was dumpy, the bar closes at 10. Service was bad. The front desk person when I arrived was brand new and was really struggling with the system. I don’t blame her, she was trying…but management shouldn’t be leaving someone so inexperienced on duty alone. I was tired and wanted to get to my room and standing there for 30+ minutes while she tried to figure out the computer was not fun. Upon learning that the bar was already closed upon my arrival, I headed to my room hoping to find a comfortable respite. The beds were squeaky and felt old and rickety. Not comfortable. Room was small and basic. It wasn’t overly dirty but didn’t really feel “clean” either. There was a Can in the trash that hadn’t been taken out and some stains on the carpet. It didn’t have a relaxing feel. In the morning I ordered room service via the QR code on the wall. I waited a full hour and it never came. I called the restaurant and they told me they didn’t see the order when it came in. They also said it had been “very busy.” I was fully ready to go by then so I told them just to cancel it and refund me. I don’t expect to ever see my $21 back given the overall level of dysfunction at this property. I checked the restaurant on my way out and it was EMPTY. I lol’d that this = “busy.” Skip this.

My only "complaint" is that we had very limited choices on the dining menu. No grilled chicken available for any of the entrees. In fact, a few items were unavailable. We dined elsewhere. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. Dining room staff, while pleasant, didn't seem interested in serving us that evening.

Hotel was pretty standard. The breakfast that we had to pay for wasn’t worth it. Raw biscuits, cold food that should be hot, and very limited selection. Could have spent the same amount at a restaurant and gotten better food.
