We chose this hotel because it had decent reviews, so we weren’t expecting anything fancy. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. The room was technically “clean” in the sense that we didn’t encounter bed bugs or anything like that, but the entire property felt dingy, damp, grimy, and poorly maintained. It honestly felt like it used to be a nice hotel, but it has been allowed to deteriorate. There was also visible mold/mildew in the room. Our bathroom had multiple basic maintenance issues: the shower curtain was stained, the shower curtain rod was broken, the sink caulking was cracked and peeling away, and the tub had chipped paint. The sink stopper didn’t work, so we had to pull it up with our fingers — absolutely disgusting. There were issues throughout the property as well. The wallpaper in the main hallway was torn up, the gardens were overgrown and full of dead plants, the parking lot was in poor condition, and the plants in the dining area were dead with dead bugs around them. It gave the impression that nobody was paying attention to the property. When we arrived, there was even a sticky sauce-like substance on the underside of the desk that clearly hadn’t been cleaned. The beds were awful. All of us left with sore backs, and the pillows provided were essentially four tiny, throw-pillow-sized pillows. When we asked for additional pillows, we were told they didn’t have any because apparently everyone needed extras. The television was basically

Room and bed were fine. TV control turned on TV only--then wouldn't work or turn off. I had to unplug the TV (no easy chore). Wifi did not work in my room; I had to go to lobby to get wifi. Breakfast was a new low, with only tepid water/coffee from the coffee machine and bagels without any butter or jam. They had a waffle machine.

I was taught that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything. But as a solo female traveler, I feel I need to speak up here. The positives: My room was clean, and the bed was fairly comfortable. It was also the closest hotel with availability to the event I was attending. The negatives: - They've made efforts to update the room (112), but the vinyl flooring has huge chips in it that, when I first walked in, looked like feces on the floor - None of the settings on the business chair worked anymore, so when you sat, it drops you to knee height and you fall backwards out of the chair - There's a large swath of visible, dirtying spray foam filling a space between the shower and sink - Hotel on a busy intersection and rooms are NOT soundproofed - MOST IMPORTANTLY: THE DOOR (112) NEEDS TO BE SERVICED. It requires full body weight to open or close, which it probably good since you can't deadbolt it. The entire deadbolt assembly was coming apart. Despite the difficulty in closing the door, when it is closed, there is a visible gap to the outside between the door and the frame. Must be cold in winter. I did not feel safe with this scenario, but getting in at 11PM, I was too tired to address it. - Staff was dismissive and unavailable. I called to arrange late check-out, and they said, "ask when you check in" and hung up. I planned to address the above door concerns at check out, but no one was at the desk or within calling distance. Summary: Do not recommend.

The property is updated over an old structure that is substandard. The rooms smell of damp and verging on mold. Wall paper shows signs of wet behind it. The bathroom has mold around the caulking. The beds are lumpy and old. The windows open but have no screens. The level of customer is sketchy and they stayed outside of the rooms into the early am. So it's OK in a pinch but nothing I would go near again. It is indicative of the properties that have live in owners that have overpowering cooking smells in the lobby and no pride in place.
