Motel full of train memorabilia. If you like trains, this is a place for you to check out. Pool is not heated very well; but a 6 yr old will swim anywhere! Exercise equipment doesn't work, which was disappointing. But, they have a pool table, if you like to shoot pool. Breakfast foods, the usual fare & good; there was ample parking - however, if you take your fur baby; you cannot stay in a suite. I was so looking forward to relaxing in the hot tub after a 9 hour drive - only to find out that pets are not allowed in the suites when I checked in. The sacrifices we make for our fur babies!

We were on the way home from a 10 day trip and decided to stop for the night. What a treasure we found! I can see people who live within hours coming for a few days just to enjoy the ambiance. The staff was great, the rooms just lovely and comfortable, the pool nice, and it had a great Mexican restaurant very close. I wish we had had more time to ride the bikes and play pool. I would have liked more comfy pillows, but it was a top 10 stay!

We chose this location over a couple others because it had a pool and hot tub (we late found out, the hot tub is only in the suites). The inn is very unique with it's 'railroad museum' hallway. Lots of artifacts. This inn is conveniently right off of hwy 63. There is a very nice Mexican restaurant within an easy walking distance and the area was nice, quiet and secure. We were offered an upgrade to our room (regular room to a suite), we were then given our choice of a four poster or a sleigh bed. We were so glad we took the upgrade! Hot tub, sleigh bed, one of the BEST rooms we've ever had the pleasure of being in. I was so taken with the place, I wanted to extend our stay through the weekend (we stayed Thursday night, left Friday) but our schedule, unfortunately could not be adjusted. The pool was nice, there were a couple pieces of exercise equipment (adult use only)poolside and pool toys she floaties for young children to use. There is a small playground on the backside of the hotel as well. Continental breakfast was outstanding, make your own waffles, yogurt, boiled eggs, bagels, instant oatmeal, milk, orange juice, coffee, tea, plus so the fixings to go along. Overall, this was one of the most enjoyable inns we've had the pleasure of staying with.

From the moment we walked in to the moment we checked out, we felt like this hotel was very special. We stayed in the luxury suite and it didn't disappoint. The room and amenities were perfect. The front desk attendants were very informative and made sure you had everything you needed. They even have a golf cart that you can use to view the train overlook near the train tracks. The facility is very clean, the rooms smell fresh, there's ample parking, there's a pool, laundry, and of course the service is fantastic. We'll be staying again.

The employees go out of their way to give great customer service. They have extras like bicycles they loan out for free, a nice playground, really warm indoor pool, train memorbilia all around, 3 tvs in lobby with 2 showing current trains. The basic room with 2 beds had a huge comfortable recliner. This is an incredibly nice moderately priced place.

Rooms were very clean. The decor was very nice. I would recommend the owner remove carpet and put LVT flooring in. The Motel was better than most places I've stayed, and I travel frequency for work. The staff is awesome, this is a gem you find once in a while. I will remember tis Motel. Staff, keep up the good work.

I found a bug on the shower floor and the toliet seat was too thin. 1 of the beds was still quite hard to sleep on. I didnt get a very good of a sleep, but there were my guests and they enjoyed their bed because it was thicker than their old bed. I will probably be back down in the future so I can watch more trains that comes through where I work in a day that runs our rails in 5 days.

We have stayed here several times, and it is always great. This is the first time we noticed that there was an unpleasant smell in our room when we entered it. There was a room deodorized or something plugged in that was running but it really didn't help much. Other than that, everything was wonderful just as it always is.

Didn’t realize the amount of train traffic that would be going right by the hotel throughout the night. Charming hotel with great train decor but we were told by a train company employee we shared breakfast with that there are about 60 trains a day that go through LaPlata. My bad for not doing my research. Next time I would bring earplugs.

The hotel is very nice. Classy decor and an interesting railroad collection on display. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. This was not my first stay here and it won't be my last.

First time staying since before COVID. Booked a suite, was given the Pullman next to the pool. Was pleasantly surpised that once we closed the door, we didnt hear the guests in the pool. Check in was quick and easy. Liked that we had "retired" towels in suite to use in case we spilled something.

Warm welcome from front desk, clerk Brain , was superb. Had some trouble getting into room with the key. He assisted me and I am very grateful for that. Great customer service. And he was very knowledgeable on the train information. Much appreciative.the pillows could be a little softer though. Everything else was great!

The check in was great. Called front desk and ask for a couple more pillows on 1st night and was told they would try to find some, came back 20 minutes later and said they could only find 1. Next day we left for entire day and they did not replinish towels or other make bed or soap or tidy up room. Had to go to front desk and ask for towels.

Well they have removed the common courtesy of an early check in. This property now charges for an early check in. The breakfast is poor at best and the pool was cold. I reported the ice machine leaking back in November when I was over charged fir room during hunting season and whee we n I stated this time in was still leaking. The newest have left the property go a little.

I have stayed at the Depot Inn and Suites many times. It’s a unique facility especially in a small town. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. The breakfast could offer more choices, but other than that—no complaints.

Very fun train themed hotel. Needed a place close to Kirksville. Will be coming back and bringing our younger kids. Enjoyed a golf cart drive to the train lookout and playing Ticket to Ride in the lobby area.

What a delightful motel! Everything was clean and the beds were comfortable. The walk to a train overlook park was pretty. There was a pleasant pool and a vineyard adjoining the property. I would definitely stay here again! The staff is very helpful and kind.

We chose this location over a couple others because it had a pool and hot tub (we late found out, the hot tub is only in the suites). The inn is very unique with it's 'railroad museum' hallway. Lots of artifacts. This inn is conveniently right off of hwy 63. There is a very nice Mexican restaurant within an easy walking distance and the area was nice, quiet and secure. We were offered an upgrade to our room (regular room to a suite), we were then given our choice of a four poster or a sleigh bed. We were so glad we took the upgrade! Hot tub, sleigh bed, one of the BEST rooms we've ever had the pleasure of being in. I was so taken with the place, I wanted to extend our stay through the weekend (we stayed Thursday night, left Friday) but our schedule, unfortunately could not be adjusted. The pool was nice, there were a couple pieces of exercise equipment (adult use only)poolside and pool toys she floaties for young children to use. There is a small playground on the backside of the hotel as well. Continental breakfast was outstanding, make your own waffles, yogurt, boiled eggs, bagels, instant oatmeal, milk, orange juice, coffee, tea, plus so the fixings to go along. Overall, this was one of the most enjoyable inns we've had the pleasure of staying with.

From the moment we walked in to the moment we checked out, we felt like this hotel was very special. We stayed in the luxury suite and it didn't disappoint. The room and amenities were perfect. The front desk attendants were very informative and made sure you had everything you needed. They even have a golf cart that you can use to view the train overlook near the train tracks. The facility is very clean, the rooms smell fresh, there's ample parking, there's a pool, laundry, and of course the service is fantastic. We'll be staying again.

Nicer decor than chain hotels. Unique train memorabilia to look at in halls. Can walk to nice Mexican restaurant. Clean room. The pool looked nice, but we didn’t have time to use it. Some bicycles available for use around small town. Limited breakfast choices. Would stay here again if passing through the area.

I was nervous to stay in a smaller place; I'm used to big hotel chains. This place was worth the switch. Very clean and comfortable. The staff were all so kind and helpful, both the check in and morning staff at check out. It was very quiet and I was able to get amazing sleep. The breakfast was small and not worth eating, so make sure to bring something with for the morning.

We have stayed at the Depot Inn several times and it is always a good experience. The rooms are clean and comfortable and well stocked. The only problem we had this time is that there were so many people eating breakfast there was no place left to sit. I guess that is a sign of how well liked it is!

The rooms were very clean, and the beds were comfortable. I loved that the closet door had mirrors. My daughter and I rode the bikes that were available. Breakfast was simple; we had a waffles, boiled eggs, and yogurt.

Was dissatisfied with the high humidity inside the hotel. My room was hot and humid along with the pool area and the lobby and hallways. Bed was very uncomfortable. Paid for my small dog to stay in this pet friendly hotel, but when I took him into the lobby, I was told that he couldn’t be in there. Had to put my dog in the room at all times, and then the staff complained because he barked because he was alone in the room.
