Super 8 by Wyndham Bellingham Airport/Ferndale

So the first room 220 looked really nice,untill i found a spider on the pillow under the covers,i went down to the front desk with a picture of said spider on the pillow and asked the front desk person if they recently had problems with bed bugs and his very words were not too recently.he looked the picture and said thats a spider we can give you a different room,i said ok so onto room 115 not as nicely done but no bugs.but in the bathroom there was black mildew/black mold in the corners of the ceiling to walls and there was a plastic/rubberish strip at the bottom of the tub on outside to the floor thatcwas very nasty looking.1 of the 2 fluorescent tubes were not working and the pool was not usable as it was empty.

The breakfast was horrible. Bread, waffles, cereal and yogurt. The customer service is horrible The pool and hot tub has been out of service for the last 8 months. They don’t have a ET on back in service for it. When booking there was no verbiage saying pool is out of service

This hotel stay was a total disappointment. I specifically booked this hotel as it clearly stated it had a functional and working pool (which my kiddo was so excited about) only to show up to find that it was bone dry and under construction. Upon booking, this should have been communicated that construction was occurring and that some amenities were not available. Had I known, I would have booked somewhere else. The room itself was also mediocre. A broken light fixture to the left of the bed, no TV remote to properly watch (you could get up and change channels on the side of the TV), a ridiculously loud fan in the washroom that automatically turns on with the light, and extremely dated furniture and related linens. It would be appreciated if the hotel would work with Expedia to not only update/modify their listing but also remedy this situation with a discount (or similar) rectify the misrepresentation of the stay.

It’s an older building but they’re keeping it clean and useable as a place to stay. Kids were sad the pool was undergoing repairs. Places to eat close by. Customer service was very good all hours of the day

There were so many problems at this hotel so let's just start at the beginning. The room was completely dirty. It looks fine at first glance, but then you notice the bedspread has marker on it, then bathroom counter has nail polish stuck to it, bathtub was missing a stopper and an overflow cap. Not to mention the fact that the tub needs recaulked. Everything in the room in general is worn and in need of repair. Fridge would not get cold enough to freeze even after several days. Property overall in and out is very badly in need of repair, maintenance, and upkeep. Breakfast area was very poorly kept. One day was all right, but when we went down 3 days later they were completely out of milk, pancake mix, butter, and plates only an hour after they open the dining area. And there was not an attendant around at all to even ask about it. There is a pool advertised, but apparently according to the desk clerk it's been empty for months and nobody's done anything about it, nor did they warn us about it. The only elevator was out of service for a full day after the fire department came by to do something with it. Not the hotel's fault, but there was a domestic violence situation at the hotel. Make sure your car stays locked because the area is super sketchy. Would have found any other open hotel in a different price range if possible. The best part was the staff when you were able to get a hold of them. They were very courteous and helpful. Laundry room was also a bonus.

Slowest check-in ever. Rooms smell bad. Room floors scratched up. Ceiling stained. Pool empty.

The pool was closed, looks loke indefinitely. There was garbage pilled by the elevator and outside, yet there's a sign thay says no food in rooms...The room had a very strong insecticide smell, and we figured out why later they had the window cracked open.

Property smelled of smoke. Pool wasn't working. We didn't stay.

It is getting quite rundown. Pool out of service. Carpets are soooo dirty and stained. Bed super comfortable. Breakfast ok. Waffles, two cereals, yogurt oikos.

Easy parking ,room seemed clean but in need of repair,got double charged for room but attendent did fix it after i questioned it,took bout 5 days to get back on card,breakfast area was messy everyday only thing that was ok was the waffles, juices were nasty,coffee was filled with grounds,no pool no spa no notice of them being closed for months.

AC worked fine. Bottom sheet didnt fit bed. Bedding had cigarette burns, remote was broken in 1/2 and taped back together. The carpet throughout the hotel was filthy! It was a very unpleasant stsy.

Pool that was advertised on website was out of order. First room had a broken TV and fridge. 2nd room TV went in and out and was dirty. Found socks(not ours) in the room it was not cleaned, moldy thermos and bathtub. Entire place smelled horrible.

Bathroom had pubic hairs all over the shower and floor. Room was dirty.

The room was really dirty, and the unsafe is that the lamp that is in between the two beds were having the electrical cords expose, that is very very unsafe for kids and for everybody in the room. The hotel in general in terrible dirty and smelly.

I’ve stayed at plenty Super 8’s but this took the prize of being dirty and unsanitary. Poop on toilet seat hair in tub and on sink just plain gross. I’m definitely gonna be reading reviews from now on. If anyone wants pictures I have plenty of them. I’m willing to share I walked in my room and then checked my pissed off butt out and found a place that’s cleaner a and accepted my dogs. Front desk was no help and I want to know how this place is even in business. There was so much wrong that I have no words on how to discribe this place. That picture of the place is photoshopped big time along with pictures of the rooms.

The carpet in the elevator was filthy. All the trash cans in the area that you eat were full with stuff spilled on them and not cleaned. I would not eat in that place. I’m not sure I would want my name on this motel.

Toilet was clean. Urine and paper in toilet. Hair on towels. 2 open water bottles on dresser. Garbage under both beds

The room was dirty, the garbage hadn't been taken out and the sheets were stained. The guy at the front desk was rude and hid in the back for 15 mintes while us and several other guests were waiting to be checked in.

Quite pleasant. Somewhat quirky. Some minor issues related to WIFi Login. Although located next to a Pilot Gas station, it was quite quiet.

Carpet is old throughout the property and needs to be changed. The mattress needs to be changed.

For the price, the room was perfectly acceptable. Basically, it's a truck stop motel. The bed was comfortable and there was a fridge and microwave. The carpet was old and dirty and the shower had lots of damage. But it was a nice hot shower with good pressure. The room was quiet except for a hum from trucks outside. Fine for a road trip with two dogs.

The East side of this motel property is located next to a truckers Pilot travel center rest stop/parking lot. Even with my window and the black out drapes closed, I still could hear the trucks running their engines all night long! Very frustrating! Also, the shower curtain (made out of material) was way to long, because the bar was stationed to low, therefore it was resting on the bottom of the bathtub, and I kept stepping on it! The curtain either needs to be shorter or the rod needs to be raised up. The property does NOT have a ironing board, yet they have a iron guests can use. It may not be the Hilton, but how difficult would it be, to provide a ironing board for their guests?!! I mean, I could have brought my own personal iron, but NOT an ironing board!

Our bed sheets had a stain with a cat treat literally tucked under the fitted sheet. We were able to turn on tv but could switch channels or turn it off. Literally had to unplug it. The toilet ran constantly. But it was a safe spot to sleep and very quiet.

Window left open to cool room. Noisy and kinda smoky smell from outside? Nothing special. But> bed comfortable& we needed that!

The walls are not sound proof and we could hear the people in the next room talking until 1 am in the morning. I know they weren't trying to be loud. Not sure we will book here again.

Things weren’t communicated well like when the breakfast would be available, and the wifi was very spotty. Other than that, it was a nice place to stay. It was clean, quiet and a good location with easy access on and off the freeway.

I would not recommend this property. Walkability is poor, it sits next a truck stop so it is very noisy. Our room was very dated and we both had backaches from the beds.

Our water pressure completely cut out in the middle of the shower and the air conditioner heater was very dirty.

Waited a long time before someone came to the desk to check us in. And then was quite rude while checking us in. Took very long time even though the reservation was pre-paid. The breakfast was not available, not sure if that’s how it always is now or just when we were there.

Convenient to Ferndale Event Center and Pet Friendly. They do not disclose to you on Hotels.com they charge a $100 deposit on all rooms. I was treated rudely by desk clerk when she refused to allow me to speak with the manager after she called him. She did not disclose to him everything I asked when she first called him. I asked her to call him back and disclose to him exactly what my concern was and she refused stating she didn't want to bother him...made me feel like I, as a customer, was a bother. It was not late, maybe 5pm on a Saturday. This was very offputting as we find fewer hotels with excellent customer service and transparency. Sheesh...most likely will not return.

Super SLOW checkin and terrible terrible value. Very overpriced for a completely unremarkable stay

Carlos offered me assistance with luggage cart and directions to Pharmacy. He went out of his way to accommodate me! Excellent service minded employee!

Name & address spelled wrong on reservation, desk clerk couldn’t speak passable English.The room was filthy, dust everywhere,old used soap in shower, but the best was the old diarrhea all over & down the side of the toilet, TV didn’t work. Requested another room, was moved next door, some improvement.Clerk stood by and watched me struggle with my stuff while changing rooms while the EXTREMELY heavy doors kept slamming shut, then she left and I was left locked out of original room,she wanted me to come down to get another key, but I only had a nightgown on, she came up about 20 minutes later with a key to first room & continued to watch me struggle with the heavy doors. The whole place wreaked of cooking bacon, posted signs said no food in rooms. If I could have left I would have, but AND I will never stay there again. If you are going to keep this property it needs a huge amount of improvement and employees who can spell, use a computer adequately and speak English well enough to be understood. A little compassion for elderly and helpfulness would be a plus.

We were unable to check in. Stopped by at noon when we arrived in town and person at front desk said room would be available at 2 p.m. Lobby had uncovered outlets with wires sticking out. Pool was empty and under major renovation. Our family returned at 5 p.m. to check in and no one was there. A sign at the front desk told us to dial zero on the lobby phone. The man who answered told us his system was down and we could not get into our room. He said someone would arrive possibly in 20 minutes and at that time we could see if the system was working. He asked us just to wait in the parking lot. I asked about a refund so we could go somewhere else and he said no refunds. Our family had an event to attend and did not have time to wait to see if we could possibly get into our room later. We found another room at another location.

The "breakfast included" was 2 energy bars and bottle of orange juice. No muffins, bread, or fruit. Its adjacent to a truck stop where the engines run 24hrs. Noisy

Rooms were clean but public areas not so. Next to truck stop. The price reflects what you get but not for us.

Ask for a room on the street side, as behind the hotel there is a truck parking lot, where the trucks run all night.

Motel is located next to Pilot (truck) stop. There were several homeless vehicles and people standing outside of the back entrance doors. The landscaping around the hotel had died(grass not taken care of) and there were several cars (that would not run or move if needed). Staff was very pleasant and understood our concerns. Room was clean and towels and bedding were all cleaned, Room did not have enough lighting in the main bedroom area and the lights in the bath could have been brighter. Trucks came and went all night long so was some noise. Would definitely NOT stay at this hotel again!!

Have never stayed at a super 8 before. We just needed a place to stay for the evening. Staff was accommodating. The location was close to some restaurants and a gas station.

Nothing to write home about, just a place to crash for a night. This motel is next to a truckstop.

Value for money. Conveniently located across from Ferndale Events Ctr.

Excellent choice for a quick stay right by the highway. Easy on and off from a major highway. Good place for sleep. Light breakfast available. If you are just looking for a good night sleep, this will do the job.

The hotel was listed as having breakfast and none was available. Water damage in the hallway with ladder and buckets in the hallway. The hall smelled of marijuana every day. This was a no smoking hotel.

Breakfast was very bad, dry bread, hardly no food, can not be called continental breakfast. Bedlinen worn out, room & bathroom dirty. The hotel needs a complete renovation.

The room was very clean and close to the event we were staying. I was very disappointed that the pool and hot tub were not functioning. My granddaughters were looking forward to it. I wish they would have notified via website that they were not open. Breakfast options were very limited and the floor in the diing room was super sticky.

The beds were comfortable and the window opened, both a plus. This hotel was advertised as having a breakfast. Their breakfast was a "Grab & Go" only, consisting of a bottle of juice, 1 yogurt and 2 snack bars, none of which I could eat. This was not indicated in their website or by the check in attendant when we arrived, only the hours that breakfast was "served". They do have an eating area that was closed off. The coffee pot was empty and we had to wait 10 minutes for that to be filled. This is the reason I gave it 3 stars. We mentioned all this to the manager.

The website said breakfast included-that was a joke—I had to ask at front desk ??breakfast as breakfast room was in darkness.Front desk said breakfast meant a granola bar & orange juice.I also asked for milk to put in coffee-apparently they ran out of milk.

If you need a place to stay for less money and you don’t care about property condition this might do it. It was pretty clean although I did notice a few things on walls doors, but the beds and bathroom which are the most important were clean. The lobby smelled so sour when we entered, big turn off. We got up to our room, it was after 9 pm, unpacked and used the toilet and found out it didn’t work. No one was available to do anything about it so we were able to switch rooms and pack up and go to a different room that “worked” but you had to hold down the handle for about 4 seconds.The property isold, Minor damage here and there & weeds out front, but again if you need a less expensive place to stay -it worked. The waffle batter tasted weird(old?) and so my husband didn’t eat it and left to go next-door to McDonald’s. We often choose Super 8 because we have had so many positive experiences w/ this chain. We definitely won’t stay at this one again, glad to save the money but yeah - you prepare yourself for “less”.
