Hotel was nice and clean. Staff were super friendly. Room was good, clean. Single glazing meant there was some noise from the street as it was Friday night, but it was to be expected from a busy main street. Breakfast was good and included great vegetarian and vegan options. Car parking was simple and on street.

Lovely room, quality furnishings and fittings, nice bar and carvery restaurant. My bicycle was locked in a function room for safe keeping which I really appreciated. Location is on the Main Street and convenient for everything.

We thought the hotel was really nice, clean, well presented and really nicely decorated. The reception guy was super helpful and advised the intracises of pay2park. To be fair this was the only real negative in the whole experience as having to pay every day and even though the cost was reduced a further £8.20 per day when the hotel was already and understandably costly . Also having to walk from behind the Grand in the pouring rain was a bit of a bind.

Place was beautiful and well Located. Didn’t say on the website about all the stairs up to the rooms and we were on the top floor with an adult with impaired mobility and a toddler. Staff never spoke to us about breakfast, emergency procedures and there was a fire test! No help from anyone, staff just watched you lug baggage for a family up and down, no trolleys to use to carpark. No lift.

Room was to a really nice standard and bed very comfortable . Staff really helpful and food excellent . Hotel advertised pool and gym this is not on site and is public saltwater swimming pool and gym a good 15 minutes walk. We stayed on 3rd floor there is no lift so wouldn’t want to be lugging large cases.No air conditioning in room just a large fan so going to be really hot mid summer . That said we had a pleasant stay.

We were on the 2nd floor, so beware 40 steps & no lift. We were initially given a room at the front overlooking the road, but the window was not double glazed so was draughty and very noisy. Our replacement room unfortunately had it's issues, whenever the water was run there was a loud vibration in the room, so loud I had to check the corridor to see what it was! So now our room was at the back, the window was double glazed but now facing all the fans/air conditioning units on the adjacent roof. So I suggest you take earplugs. On a plus point the hotel and bar was excellently located, however I expect in the summer patrons may well be noisy too. We did eat an evening meal in the bar, which was delicious. The hotel generally was very nicely styled, beds were comfy. Staff were friendly and helpful

Great rooms, well decorated and brand new refurbishment, enjoyed ourselves However no housekeeping cleaned any of our rooms, 4 out of 4. The whole day to get it done but not cleaned So unfortunately spoiled what was otherwise a good stay.

At first glance everything appeared to be quite nice. The welcome and helpfulness at Check in was generally very good. The rooms weren't so great. Nice size, and the bed was ok, but on close inspection it was all a bit grotty. The blinds over the window were filthy, a sure sign that cleaning wasn't great throughout. The TV did not work You could hear the words, but no picture. The pressure in the shower was awful. There was loud music blaring through the floor from the bar downstairs until 1am. I was literally only at the hotel to sleep. Arrived to my room around 11pm and left at 8pm. Did not feel any of the stay warranted what i paid for the rooms I had booked. Disappointing.

I usually stay here on business and I like it that much we spent our anniversary weekend here. It was a 5 hour drive but so worth it. The room was spotless and comfortable. The staff steal the show though. They are absolutely 5 star (Especially Reception). We can’t thank you all enough.

Overall excellent. We booked a room for 2 adults and one child, we added our child on at a later date, we spoke over the phone and were assured we only needed to pay for his breakfast and the sleeping arrangements had been sorted. When we checked in that wasn’t the case but the lovely man on reception quickly sorted an extra bed for us, he was very friendly and helpful, he’s a credit to the hotel. The only negative about the room is the heat, we did have a fan which made it bearable. The room was lovely, very comfortable, clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was lovely, friendly staff and excellent service. We ate in the restaurant the night before, again very nice food with excellent service. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

First time I have stayed here and it’s really a beautiful hotel. The rooms are fantastic and with a rainfall shower was also nice. The staff 5 Stars. The breakfast 5 stars. I would highly recommend a stay. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely pub/hotel and in a great location, but unfortunately there’s no soundproofing in the room so you can hear the road outside and the bar next door (which doesn’t close til 1am) as well as people walking past. Which is a shame as everything else was great, including staff at check-in, but we wouldn’t stay again due to not getting much sleep as it was so noisy and you literally hear everything going on outside.

We stayed at The Bold Hotel, Southport for our wedding anniversary and it was absolutely perfect. The hotel is beautiful, the atmosphere welcoming, and the service exceptional. A special thank you to Claudette, who was outstanding – she made our stay extra special with her kindness and attention to detail. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely be back!

Howard at reception was remarkable. Courteous and helpful - over and above the norm. He is the main reason for our top ratings. He plus the comfort of the bed. The carvery meal was fine - room clean. It is a hotel that appears to be working diligently to make a positive experience for its guests

First impressions, really lovely hotel with polite and friendly staff. Actually trying to sleep at this hotel was hit and miss. We must have been located above the bar/ restaurant toilets because all we could hear was the hand dryers until the early hours and just as we had settled into a good sleep we were awoken at 7.15am by someone in an adjoining room playing music at an unacceptable level. We got up to complain to the front desk and was basically told there was nothing they could do

The staff were particularly helpful and friendly. Every one of them that we encountered was approachable and looked happy in their work. I was really grateful for the recommendation of a nearby Italian restaurant which was just a stones throw from the hotel and just what I needed to satisfy two tired, grumpy toddlers. I had been dreading wandering the streets with them looking for a suitable place to eat, but it was all taken care of by the nice man on the reception desk (sorry I didn't get his name). He even phoned them to check there was a table available and they moved things around to accommodate us, despite being busy. Thanks so much, would definitely stay again.

The room was pretty good, but what made the stay great was the friendliness of the staff. It really makes a difference when staff are friendly and talk rather than just go through the motions. These were probably the most polite, professional and friendly staff I've had.

This is a great place to stay. The breakfasts are superb, the room was too. It’s not too great walking along the Main Street outside the hotel at night, but the walk to the water takes only a few minutes, and is well worth doing in the evening, as well as during the day.

Really enjoyed staying in one of the suites. Staff were very friendly could not do enough for us. The breakfast were the best we have had. Would definitely go back .
