Had a lovely stay however, the size of the swimming area in the pool for non swimmers is just ridiculous especially as it was busy with families which made it quite unpleasant to have fun with my family. The 3 older ladies who took up the swimming lane which was more than 3/4’d of the pool were really grumpy especially when kids playing crossed the rope barrier. This was a damper on our stay!! The aircon in our room 327 was rubbish too which made it really warm even though was set to 17.

The room felt dated and could do with modernisation. When we checked in we found our shower was running and would not turn off. Front desk were unable to move us as similar sized rooms were all taken. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool and the food was okay.

Stayed 2 nights

I came up from Kent to go to a conference at Magna and chose this as a less expensive option hotel for my stay. Staff were friendly and courteous without exception. The room was basic but well maintained and clean. There was tea and coffee but no water and no mini fridge to keep anything cool. I prefer a fridge as I have injections I have to keep chilled. Luckily, my stay wasn’t longer or this would have been an issue. I managed to lock myself out of the bathroom due to a faulty catch, but staff had someone up in a few minutes. The food was pub grub and a little expensive for what it was. I watched the England match in the bar area, sound on both tv’s was faulty. Each tv having a different fault. Otherwise a pleasant stay.

Stayed 4 nights

We stay at holiday inn Rotherham a couple of times a year but the property is getting very run down now. I tried to shut the window as the main road is very noisy and pulled the handle off! I reported it to maintenance but it never got fixed. The weather was particularly hot this weekend and the aircon was not working very well so I ask for someone to pop and have a look at it and cloe on reception was very rude she basically told be it was not her problem and maintenance had gone home eventually someone did come and managed to lower temperature a little but still not great. I don’t believe a customer service desk is a great option this particular member of staff. The breakfast was really nice and breakfast staff very friendly and helpful. We used the pool all 4 days and it was lovely. Young lifeguard on the Saturday night was lovely and had to deal with big clean up in the hot tub but did it with a smile on his face. Overall it wasn’t worth the nearly £900 we spent on the 4 nights.
