Hartwood Hall by Greene King Inns

The property is located beside a nice and cozy Pub - this is also where breakfast is served. The entire stay was welcoming even though my room wasn't available when I got there (I was early) it was still available to me prior to check in. The staff are hospitable and genuinely took interest in my travels and made me feel welcome. I would recommend this place for people who are not planning to spend much time in their room, and will be going out to see the sights or for work.

Great value and very comfortable forcan overnight stay. Excellent breakfast too.

Short stay to attend a family wedding. Friendly welcome from staff quick booking in especially considering it was the first day of the massive world wide IT issues. Room clean and well stocked, thank you for ensuring fans in each room as it was needed. All staff friendly especially our waitress, Lisa, she had her work cut out with our group of 11 for the evening. Small but good selection of breakfast options both cooked and continental.

Handy for the centre of Chorley, good pub and breakfast. Bed was quite hard but the room was clean and functional, free parking

Great 1 night stay. Convenient parking. TIP! Put the hotel name in WAZE, not the actual post code. Post Code takes you on a wild goose chase. Nice “hotel breakfast” - £10.00 for hot & cold. Struggled with toaster, didn’t work well.

Foood and drink excellent quality, with 'made to order' breakfast, rather than buffet style layout. Staff very helpful and general value for money was excellent also.

Stayed overnight. Arrived at 2 pm and straight into the room. Furnishings were good...tea and coffee making facilities. Water in the shower room was wonderfully hot. Nice big bath towels. We had a nice meal in the restaurant/bar which was a pleasant area to sit in. The bed was comfortable and duvet and pillows good. Only fault with the room for me was light coming from the sides of the curtains which I was unable to eliminate. Some noise from other guests closing doors but that's not the hotels fault. We would stay here again.

The rooms are set away from the bar in a separate building and are very quiet! looks like an old building but inside is modern. Our room had its own modern bathroom and was very comfortable. Car parking was plentiful and never struggled with parking. We were meeting friends in Chorley so never got to try the bar meals but rooms I can recommend 100%. Next visit we will be booking the same rooms.

Small but adequate room. Very clean, nice bathroom. However the hotel is attached to a pub with great restaurant. Food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Worth staying just for that.

Breakfast was great. I stayed in a double room myself, due to the temple accommodation full. The staff were friendly. The bedroom was very nice and clean.

I booked three rooms on the 9th March 2024 at the Hartwood Hall Hotel. The staff were fantastic - friendly, helpful, and always there when we needed them. The food at the restaurant was also delicious. However, there were a few things that brought our stay down a notch. First, it was frustrating that a lot of the non-alcoholic drink options weren't actually available. They also didn't have decaf coffee, which wasn't ideal. For people who don't take dairy, they couldn't offer any plant-based milk alternatives and for that reason we didn't stay for breakfast. But the biggest issue by far was the housekeeping. Our bathroom bin was overflowing with used sanitary towels. We even mentioned this to the hotel directly, but they never got back to us. Overall, while the service and food were great, the lack of drink choices, the missing decaf coffee and plant-based milk, and especially the unclean room put a damper on our experience. Considering they completely ignored our complaint about the housekeeping, we wouldn't recommend staying here until they address these issues.

Entrance outside the accommodation, bin over flowing with rubbish, loads of butt end cigarettes on the floor. This was from Thursday to my leaving on Saturday. Shower in room 9 full of mold, showered else where. The breakfast staff are fantastic and also the quality of the food, my only suggestion is, give a good quality egg. This was the only let down on your fantastic breakfast.

The public house was nice although the toilets need attention. The hotel is tired! We had one hand towel and bath towel between us, the bed was very uncomfortable and the window frame was covered in black mould. Probably would not stay here again.

Never stayed here before, room was quite small an dark as you looked out window all could see was over grown tree & ivy, lots of bugs in room was a ants nest in one corner so was all up the wall was scared to sleep. Don’t think I’d return.

I had both the continental and cooked breakfast during my stay. Both were good, cooked breakfast was fresh and well cooked. Had dinner there one night, options were good and served promptly. I have used the restaurant before but this was my first stay. Room was clean, comfortable bed. Very warm in the room, a fan was available but not very effective. Shower was good. Overall I was comfortable, had a pleasant stay. The accommodation could use some updating.

The upside was the staff who were very attentive and service was splendid. Food was adequate for our stay. The room was clean and spacious. Disappointed with the bed which was too firm which meant we didn’t get a good night’s sleep. The water pressure was poor in the bathroom and the toilet seat was extremely loose so uncomfortable. We chose this hotel because it was nearby our family for visiting for a funeral . Due to the bed being too hard which is personal choice, we wouldn’t seek to return.

The hotel was ideal for one night, parking was free and the breakfast was superb. Staff in the bar area and breakfast were friendly and professional the only negative was that we found the mattress and pillows very hard so didn't have a great sleep

Without AC or being able to open a window, my room was very warm although an electric fan was provided. The room was shabby and needs a refresh tbh. The shower water pressure was terrible, almost unusable. Car parking is good and plentiful

Very small, dark, basic room, bed comfortable enough, bathroom was clean but the toilet is so small that the lid pokes into the back, there was NO access to the internet despite the claim for FREE internet in the description, rather poor in the 21st century

A quick stop over stay so arrived about 10.30pm. Pub was empty. Took a while to check in as lady behind bar was on the phone to someone trying to sort till. Room was in a building across road from pub. Room was so small. Hit me head twice in the way to bathroom as tv on wall at foot of bed and about 30cm to squeeze through. Bed was comfortable and room was clean.

Everything was great, especially the service from staff, who were very friendly. It’s nice as a solo traveller on business to have someone engage with you and for it to feel sincere. The food was good, so I’ll definitely be back.

A great stay, was greeted warmly, excellent evening meal. Only two downsides the room was extremely hot. Breakfast was ok, service was rather slow (fine if we'd been on holiday) not quite the ambience we expected.

Delayed due to traffic accident so arrived after check in closed. However I called and left a voice mail in advance advising I would be late. All locked up when I arrived 24 minutes after check in closed. No response to further calls or knocking on the door. Ended up staying in the near by Premier Inn. Subsequently messaged the hotel about this and still no response.

Check in was done by a very abrupt young lady who was neither friendly n welcoming. The restaurant was almost empty and you had to find staff to help out. Room was reasonably nice and decor was nice too.

Booked a room at 1045pm, arrived at 1145pm to be told check in closed at 1030, and that theyd try to get a refund to me. Left me in the car park to arrange alternative accommodation.

Im a infrequent but regular visitor to Chorley and the Hartwood has become my 'go to' hotel. It is convenient, inexpensive, reliable, but above all friendly and welcoming, so I will continue to use it whenever i am revisiting Chorley. The last time I stayed I was especially impressed with the extra efforts Tara went to - I had left something of personal value in my room and she was most helpful in making sure I got it safely returned to me.

Comfortable & Convenient.... Bed Comfortable, Slept very well. Convenient location for my business needs. Great value for money. Food, on a par with other Green King's I've visited.

It was very easy to walk across the road to Chorley Hospital where I was having an operation the morning after we stayed here.. Friendly staff.

Room was small, but comfortable and warm, water was hot with a bath and shower. Tea/coffee was limited, and the room was a little noisy with the radiators clanking and the position close to a busy road. Attached to a Greene King pub, food was standard.

Comfortable stay. Noisy but to be expected as you’re on the main road. Room was well-appointed but on the small side; no issues with comfort etc.

Staff were polite, food was good. Room looked nice on the service however some parts looked very work, paint missing in bathroom etc.

I was pleasantly surprised that dinner was still being served until 8.45 pm on a Sunday evening which is unusual. I’d had a long day & a long drive so this was a real bonus. Very friendly staff. Continental breakfast - good quality food.

£50 per night room at the most, room was tired, when we arrived we were told the kitchen was closed due to having one cheff, the bar was closing at 9pm as one bar staff and then told two managers live on site, where were they then, had a meal there food was dumped on the table, had to go in search of cuttlery, hidden in a draw by the door in the end, food was overcooked and hard, there own beer hazy day was off " run out " nobody came back to the table to see if we were ok, despite the bar being virtualy empty, not realy surprising with the attitude of some of the staff we encounterd, not a great experiance overall, probbably wouldnt stay again next time we go to Chorley.
