We left the train station in Lucca, put in the address of La Luna and had a wonderful short walk, less than a mile into the town of Lucca and to the Hotel La Luna. We were greeted by hotel staff who quickly got us into our rooms, two couples-two rooms. The rooms were nice and would be considered average. The highlight of the hotel is the morning breakfast (included in the fee), an attached bar and lounge and directly across the street, about 60 feet, a very nice restaurant. Please note that if you have difficulty with stairs, it seems all the rooms were above the main floor and carrying suit cases or walkers could be a problem. The hotel is in the center of town and is very accessible to everything Lucca has to offer. We did find our room was overlooking the restaurant and trying to get to sleep before the restaurant was closed created some difficulty. If we stay there again, we would ask for a room away from the street.

Insonorizzazione delle camere con quelle confinanti da migliorare, qualche particolare che andrebbe sistemato e aggiornato in camera: lo stipite della porta del bagno era letteralmente mangiato dalle termiti, il bagno carino ma molto datato, prevedere almeno una tenda per la doccia per non allagare tutto. Colazione con una discreta scelta e assortimento, consiglio di dotarsi di una macchina a capsule per le richieste di caffè particolari come ad esempio il ginseng che non era disponibile.

Amazing location and big comfortable rooms. The only thing that let it down was the plumbing in the Annex which is very noisy and woke me up several times when neighbours use the bathroom or showers.

The people were all friendly and attentive. The bed (just like all beds we have been on in Italy was hard). The location was great as it was in the middle of town. We ate at the restaurant and it was good. The breakfast had good options and even several gluten free items! We would stay again

Great location. Unfortunately, the air conditioning did not work well. Even overnight, it only cooled the room to 25.5 degrees (78 degrees Fahrenheit). The women at the front desk came to our room and insisted it was working as it should. Be prepared for a very hot room even though it technically has air conditioning.

Don’t stay here on a weekend if you don’t like to party. The rooms overlook a busy square where they have extremely loud amplified performances until midnight (particularly unfortunate on the night when I had an early morning train). And then the street cleaners come at 6am. The windows don’t close very well and all the sound in the square reverberates into the room. So it would be fine if you are someone carousing out there until midnight.

A good lodging experience, but a few points of criticism: 1) I am a big detractor of the hotel bathroom experience where the shower sprays onto the floor with a drain, and no partition to keep the floor throughout the bathroom from getting wet. My room had this feature, but it was ameliorated slightly because the shower was quite far from the sink. 2) No wall plug for charging in the bedroom that I could find; I used the one in the bathroom. 3) The hotel charges for small items from the minibar; other hotels offer this complimentary.

Had a 4 night stay here with friends as we attended a concert in town. The hotel and staff were wonderful. Every need was taken care of, and even bought more JD when we managed to empty stock. Really look forward to returning soon.
