Hotel Indigo Rochester - Mayo Clinic Area by IHG

Stayed at Hotel Indigo for a Mayo visit. I appreciated that the property offered both a Shuttle to Mayo as well had access to the Skyway.

I think the Hotel Indigo is probably the nicest and most recently renovated hotel connected to the Mayo Clinic Skyway. The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. It was very easy for me to work out of. The gym was just what I needed, and the restaurant (Crave) is excellent! I'd highly recommend the Hotel Indigo for anyone visiting downtown Rochester.

We just stayed one night for a show at the Civic Center. It was nice that we could walk to restaurants and to the center. The parking was a hassle, due to construction in the parking facility. When we went to leave, the machine will not take our card. I push the help button and somebody came to help me, but by then my weight of parking had gone up two more dollars just because the machine wouldn’t work. The hotel was very nice parking not so much.

Clean, convenient, room was updated and in excellent condition. Property is connected to the downtown skywalk and parking. Plus, they offer shuttle service to Mayo buildings downtown. Our driver, Bill, was super. Crave restaurant downstairs is also great. Arrived too late for dinner, but had a perfect breakfast there. There are many convenient, walkable options for food nearby, too. Would absolutely stay again.

Hotel was lovely and restaurant was convenient and enjoyable. There is construction in the parking and my vehicle was extremely dirty after parking. However, management worked with me to make this right.

We loved this property- it was perfect! Parking was so easy, even with their ramp being under construction we could still park in a ramp connecting to the hotel via skyway. Coincidentally, we were across the street from all of the dining and restaurants we wanted to explore making everything so walkable and convenient! We loved our stay in Rochester and this hotel was the perfect place! Very clean, quiet, safe, water available for purchase at the hotel desk which was great!

Needs hot tub. Very convenient if you’re having anything at the mayo. Direct entry from hospital to hotel. Great restaurants within walking distance of all kinds. Ubers are 1-3min waits. Nice clean facilities great rooms.

I thought it was in a perfect location. I was there to go to the Mayo Clinic. The restaurant was very good. A decent size gym, no pool or other amenities. The throw carpet in my room was not very clean, but the rest of the room was fine.

Staff not welcome and in 4 days no cleansing the room

When checking in, the lady did not scan my cards properly, so I could not get into my room or out of the parking ramp. I had to back up, ruining the rim on my tire and making another truck backup. I had to run back in and have them fix the card to get out. Also, we stayed 2 nights and our room was never cleaned, cups replaced, garbage emptied after 1 night. Very disappointed with all of the inconveniences.

My room was not serviced at all on the 2nd day of my stay and given that we were there for medical treatment at Mayo it was uncomfortable to return to a disorganized, "dirty" room with no clean towels after literally 16 hours of medical treatment. It was also too late to receive housekeeping and all the front desk was able to do was provide us towels and coffee pods/cups

Area rug was dirty and never vacuumed during 3 night stay.

Hotel rooms are very clean. Great job. Please keep it up!!!!

Nice rooms and clean newer rooms

This is my second stay at Hotel Indigo Rochester. The location is great, and the skyway will get you to Mayo Clinic without having to walk outside (extremely nice when the weather turns cold). Check-in was a breeze, and Crave restaurant is conveniently located in the hotel. Rooms are spacious and fairly comfortable. My only complaint was that the linens on the bed clearly were not changed. The pillow cases were covered with long black hair and what I assume were eyelashes and makeup (as a bald guy, I know it didn't come from me). The sheets were also obviously slept on and a large stain was visible on the top sheet. I don't expect the room to be sterile, but not changing the bedding is just plain lazy and completely disgusting.

They do not clean rooms unless you request it. We requested it and they still did not clean the room or empty the trash or. do the things we have asked them to do. We reserved the room for3 days but moved out after 2 to another place.

Most of our stay was okay. We only had 2 problems. The replace battery light was flashing in the thermostat and the room was either freezing when set to 68 or hot when set to 70. The maintenance crew didn’t show up until the day we checked out. The other problem which should have been caught was when the cleaning crew replaced the towels the top wash cloth was dirty. There were other ones there, but the dirty one was right on top.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Water pressure in shower could definitely use some improvement but overall the stay was a good one.

Hotel is close to the Mayo Clinic. Close to several restaurants. Room was nice but very very small, too small for 2 purple. Parking was om, but there was lots of construction around the hotel.

Quiet and very modern clean rooms

This is a pleasant place to stay if you’re being seen at the Mayo Clinic. It’s a 5 minute walk to the subway level, via the skyway. There are numerous restaurants nearby. The restaurant in the hotel, Crave, is convenient and very good. Disappointed that the hotel did not provide bottled water in the room and no microwave .

There was an ongoing noise similar to water running, and also a very loud noise that took place a few times like if something heavy was dropped on the floor. We could sleep at all. My pillow has yellow stains that you could see through the thin pillow cases, and it was gross.

Good location. I took an art workshop in town so this was a convenient location for my class. Room was small but well appointed. Some classmates also stayed at this hotel and they were on a noisy lower floor. Walls are thin so depending on the location of your room, it might be noisy.

Bathroom doors could be different, there barn style doors. Not very much privacy. No breakfast offered.

No window to the outside in the room - no natural sunlight. Window in front of space towards lobby- insufficient curtains so light from lobby shined through all night. Refrigerator made invasive noises all night. Poor water pressure. Pillows were too high and lumpy. Staff was sos o. Food at Crave was not extraordinary for the price… potatoes were soggy. Never staying there again- depressing space.

The room was pleasant and clean, and the lobby space is attractive. The front desk staff, however - on both check-in and departure - was unresponsive, unfriendly, and impolite almost to the point of passive aggressiveness. No "Hello, welcome to the Hotel Indigo" No explantion of anything (including pointing us to the elevators). Check-out was no better. No "Good morning. How was your stay?" No "Hope to see you again". etc. Makes us not want to ever return. Also, the bed sheets were tissue paper thin.

The hotel is in a great location and the rooms are very nice! There is a The front desk staff do not seem to be available much if the time, and when they are available they are not friendly.

I left an item in my hotel room. Here were the 3 failed attempts I made to retrieve it: 1. I called the front desk the next day. They asked me to leave a voicemail for housekeeping with the details. No return call. 2. A few days later, I called the front desk again and explained the situation. Ashley committed to follow up. No return call. 3. A few days later, I called the front desk and asked to speak to the General Manager. He was not available and I left my name/number. No return call. In addition, the parking lot is undergoing repair and there is only one handicapped parking space available on the level that connects to the lobby. Other spots could have easily been temporarily blocked off. This is critical for a hotel in the middle of a major medical destination. Finally, upon arrival and departure, the front desk people acted as if we were bothering them while they were busy scrolling their phones.

Poorly trained, defensive reception staff. I’ve stayed several times at the Indigo, mostly because it’s super convenient, clean, updated, and an IHG property. The only downside I’ve ever experienced was the slightly less than enthused reception staff, which I usually shrug off. Meh. I’m ever only there briefly. This particular April stay though, was THE trigger for me. The young lady at the desk pointedly refused to provide a receipt as I booked through Expedia. She was condescending about it as I patiently explained that since I was paying at the hotel and not through Expedia, it is policy for the hotel to be able to provide a receipt. She had an attitude and doubled down on her stance without bothering to confirm if she was mistaken (ofc turns out she was and the property later issued a receipt via email after I had to take the time and inconvenience to chase up upon returning home). I wish I could have recorded the interaction, it was so shocking as a customer and IHG member. Plus, they ran my bill (which they would not let me see) through TWO credit cards, another item to chase up on. I see that the Indigo has had several complaints about the reception staff. Please, you are in the hospitality biz, train your peeps to be more amenable to resolving a problem instead of being so hard nosed and defensive? Coming back next week for another Rochester visit, but have Indigo Rochester PTSD.

Convenient location, great local restaurants and friendly staff!

I was very disappointed in the treatment I received from a desk person. He was disrespectful, arrogant and unappologetic for his behavior. Just about everythig else about the place was pretty good, the parking garage condition was not favorable but was getting worked on. I would have expected better treatment/behavior from the "help" and is enough to keep me from wanting to stay there again!

The only issue with the property is Amy who works at check-in. She was shockingly rude to every single person. Each question was met with rudeness, even though they were standard questions (i.e. where do we park, how much is it?) While checking in, she told me she had to stay late to wash towels because there are so many of "you people" staying here. I was there for an Indian wedding. Every person who I spoke with had a story about how incredibly rude Amy was, without being provoked. Many had stories of her yelling at them. The night of the reception, she burst in at 11:01pm and yelled at the DJ, the guests, and the parents of the wedding couple because the party was to end at 11pm. She could have tactfully ended the party (as every hotel does) but she was counting down the minutes to pounce and yell. It was a shocking end to a incredibly fun party. A note the the GM ... you need to do better. She is a reflection of your hotel and not one who makes anyone want to recommend or return. On a positive note, the staff at Crave and the person who works the front desk in the mornings were all super helpful and friendly.

Hotel was convenient for our trip. Close to many great restaurants. Appreciated the easy access to the skyway.

This is a very nice hotel. Great location, rooms and staff. Convenient tasty dining options in building. Parking is also very convenient. Easy access to downtown and Mayo Clinic.

Very convenient location. The service overall was just ok—front desk and restaurant. The rooms are very clean, and the towels are soft.

Fantastic restaurant with room service.

Enjoyed my stay. Room very nice and comfortable. The only on site dining was CRAVE restaurant, rather pricey.

Crave restaurant on the hotel property got me in without a reservation, great service and food, room was wonderful. Will not hesitate to book another stay.

Parking wasn't real convinient, great resturaunts around the hotel- I am a fan of Crave but this one had a limited menu, extremely pricy and the service later in the evening was questionable as some of the staff were ready to close, some stay open.

The bed was okay. The front desk staff were okay. Room service was only available for dinner.
