Holiday Inn Express at Monterey Bay by IHG

Room was neatly cleaned breakfast was good

Long check in with only one clerk. Didn’t tell us ice machines were not available and that ice was in store freezer. Asked for our room to be cleaned twice (in one day) and it was never done. Breakfast has lots of options plus water and cookies provided at check in was nice. Coffee machine in lobby was broken one morning and none are available in room so it was a long coffee wait. Rooms were not great, a bit tight even for family of 3. Bathroom light outside door and bright on early mornings. Our toilet also didn’t flush and we had to get it serviced at one point.

Currently has renovations ongoing. The pool was not inviting--the water was cloudy and the rope dividing the shallow from the deeper part was broken and floating in the water. My room was very clean and everything worked EXCEPT the shower. The water pressure was so low, it took a lot of time and frustration to wash and rinse hair and body. It would be better to have two side chairs in the room instead of just one. The lighting in the room was great.

Great service

There was hair in the shower. That was the only thing that I was unhappy with. We had to call maintenance about the tv but that wasn’t a big deal.
