The room was clean but motel not in the most convenient location of town. Very difficult to let to the parking entrance. TV difficult to use, some of the outlets didn't work and not in the most appealing location of town. Also, no where close to the beach.

Very low quality, rooms are dated, bedding has holes in it microwave is very old and lots of stains in it, table and chairs are very old, chair covers are ripped, table is very scratches. Non-smoking room smells of terrible smoke. Wires hanging out of location where light fixtures previously hung. No ADA available rooms although they claim they have it. Walls are paper think. Area seems unsafe, no amenities outside of a bed and a shower. Front desk staff indicated that if you leave you might not find parking when you return as parking gets filled quickly and then you will have to park on the street. No big booking company should be working with these people. It’s below what you would expect Expedia to contract with!

The manager was very nice; however, there was some object under the carpet in the room that i kept tripping on. The air conditioner was very loud, which ended up being a blessing to semi-drown out the loud traffic, cars blasting their music and the jackhammer breaking up the curb right on the border of the property. I walked to the nearby Safeway and in the very short walk was approached by a homeless person.

I was in town for a wedding. Just needed a place to sleep and shower. My room was very clean, but there aren’t any frills here. Only issue I encountered was parking, when I returned to the motel and there was no parking space available. Management allowed me to park in the lot, in an area that wasn’t designated as a parking space.

Worst motel I’ve stayed in. Pictures online looked way better. At first they checked us into a ground floor room and the bathroom was flooded because there was a leak coming from the top floor. We had to ask to switch and they made us pay $$ to switch to the top floor. The room didn’t seem like it had been deep cleaned in years, there was dust everywhere and my feet were black after 1 minute of walking around barefoot. The bed mattress was so hard and uncomfortable. The sheets were paper thin and felt dirty. Would not stay here again.

The a/c was so noisy that you couldn’t even have it on. The toilet seat was so wobbly it felt as if you were going to fall off it. It smells so awful around the property. Homeless population likes to linger around the property. Definitely could use a good cleaning as well. Dusty and moldy should describe it properly. The bed was lumpy and there were someone else’s hair in the sheets so obviously the sheets were not changed. Luckily I always travel with a pillow and a blanket. Would not recommend and will not stay here again.

Window covering did not keep out strong outside lights at night ,water pressure was too high, and faucets were extremely loud as was shower. Not good ceiling sound barrier . Upstairs guests very loud.

The room at the Pacific Best Inn is spacious & comfortable. Good AC, great wide screen TV & great shower head. Carpet tacks pierced the bottom of my foot entering the bathroom & that needs to be fixed. Also a door fell off the clothes cabinet & that needs repair. But all in all a very nice room!

The building is aged a bit and does show signs of wear and tear in the bathing area, but has a beautifully remodeled sink area and the dining/bed room is proper. You can tell the room is clean despite some rust, so if you can get past aesthetics, you can really enjoy the value of this room because the location was great for a beach lover like me! I also appreciated the sturdy, stable mattress that was the perfect hardness for me to relax in. It wasn’t difficult for me to fall asleep at all which I appreciated. The ladies at the front were more pleasant to interact with than the gentlemen, but overall the staff was respectful and well mannered and I would definitely book again. I was in the ADA room and there were families with small children around me, so if that bothers you I would advise you with this because there may be families trying to enjoy the great value this place has to offer! I rebooked off Expedia for an extra night for the same rate in order to enjoy being walking distance from the beach an extra night and it was so worth it if it’s your first time seeing the beaches in the area like it was for me.

Service not the friendliest. If you’re going for an 80s bed sit vibe then go for it. The shower rail curtain was too low and the shower head was spewing water outwards rather than down. Consequently, it was flooding the floor and into downstairs. When we tried to point this out the manager just said, keep the shower curtain inside the bath as though we were at fault. This wouldn’t have made any difference. Thin walls- family in adjacent room, banging and shouting and screa at 1.30 in the morning. I didn’t wake up refreshed. Breakfast Club across the road is fantastic though! Plenty of places to eat and only a 20 minute walk to the beach.

My stay at Pacific Best Inn was extremely disappointing. The property is incredibly outdated and appears to have had no maintenance for decades—it honestly looked like it was stuck in the 90s. Several basic amenities didn’t work: the microwave was broken, the fridge wasn’t functioning, and even the AC didn’t work, which made the stay very uncomfortable. On top of that, one of the cabinet doors was hanging off, showing how poorly maintained the room was overall. The place is in very bad shape and definitely not worth the price. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. We stayed for one night.

The beds were only box springs. No actual mattresses. Very hard an uncomfortable. No curtains. Only shudders. Let’s a lot of light in. Could be a nice place.

This was unfortunately one of the worst experiences I have ever had staying at a hotel. Firstly, when I arrived to check in there was no one at reception and the place reeked with an overwhelming smell of curry. I walked around the property for a while and eventually found the manager. It took almost 30 mins for him to check me in because I paid through Hotels.com and had a different credit card with me. Not sure why this was an issue because I had already paid, but I figured, ok no big deal. He said he would refund my original booking and then I made a new booking on the card I had with me. The first night there was incredibly loud. The plumbing system makes a blaring sound whenever someone in another room uses the water. I could also hear someone in another room talking loudly at 5am. The second day the wifi went out and I had work to do on my laptop. I asked to check out early and the management were unbelievably rude. I left without a refund for the second night and checked into a new hotel. Money down the drain. I have never been treated so badly by hotel staff.

We got there a couple of hours before check in time . We rang the belll for service several times in a lapse of about 5 minutes, but nobody came to help us despite they being in the next room because we could heard them talking. Finally a call by phone while I was in the office and a lady rudely told us to come back in 30 minutos . She was very rude amad unprofessional. When we came back they charged us 10 dollars for checking in an hour early. The room was old and the furniture very old and outdated. The mattress and pillows were horrible . Very uncomfortable. I will never come back to this hostal again.

Usually I'm happy with 2 star motels, and I would have been with Pacific Best Inn also, except that the manager barely speaks English and failed to tell us during our 3 day stay that the parking lot was being paved on our last day, and that we'd need to move our car. We had already entered the aquarium when he called. When confronted he tells me it was my fault for leaving my car in the parking lot, where I expect to be able to leave my car. I had to leave my family and I wasted parking garage fees to help him out, and wasn't offered any sort of apology or recompense. Additionally we received no housekeeping except for the first day, but no coffee refills (which was awful anyway), no clean towels, no beds made, no cleaning or vacuuming, very poor. I certainly didn't leave the housekeeper a tip, she did nothing to warrant it. I don't expect much for lower rent motels but some service and at least communication would be nice. Overall the rooms were fine, somewhat recently upgraded, no complaint there. But the service and attitude of the manager was not acceptable. I certainly won't be staying here again.

The furniture is in very poor condition, and the hair dryer doesn’t work. The entire place is dusty. The owner, who also works at the front desk, does not seem welcoming to customers. If the owner can’t provide proper customer service, it’s hard to imagine how the staff would. I would not recommend this hotel—if you have other options, choose another place.

We liked everything about our stay here. It was one of the most reasonably priced places in the area for a single room that could accommodate a family of four. But it was still a well-maintained property in a safe area, close to Safeway, Walgreens, fast food and a nice walking trail around some wetlands. We were also able to walk to the beach. Costco, Point Lobos and Asilomar/Pacific Grove were a short drive away. Do visit the last two if you like nature. The room was quite large and had a mini-fridge and microwave. The beds were comfortable. There is an ice machine that is free for guests with the room key. The other guests were very quiet and considerate. The housekeeper was a very pleasant and hard-working person and the owner was on the premises clearly taking a very active role in the upkeep of the property.

We booked this hotel for an overnight stay while visiting Monterey. The room is spacious and clean. Looks like it has been updated. We liked that the room has a fridge and microwave, very convenient for leftovers. We recommend staying here if you are looking for an affordable stay.

Really bare bones motel. Staff member I interacted with was friendly. Lots of food options around and good location. Little bit away from downtown monterey/carmel and all that glamour, but that's what I wanted. Manage expectations and everything will be okay
