Best Western Plus Ticonderoga

Room was great. A/C provided both cooling and heat in the AM AND controlled the humidity. Great water pressure and a shower head that actually worked along with plenty of hot water. Some bad points. Ice machines were not working but the staff filled them manually from the kitchen. Elevator was also down for a day. Our room was moved to the 1st floor to avoid problems. Restaurant however was a bust. A nice restaurant if it was properly staffed. Our order was lost and we waited 45 minutes before our meals came, and they were mixed up. Had to send them back and waited another 15 minutes to get an above average meal. But the staff was very nice, and I would go back again.

I opted for this hotel because it had a pool/hot tub. Both did not have enough water to filer and were dirty (see pictures). The doors to enter the pool did not work (you needed to walk to the front desk, and they had too manually open it). The security doors did not lock, you could walk in and out of the building at all times without using a key. My door key could only be used once (I had to keep going to the front desk asking for a new key x4). Yes, I kept it in the packet so it would not get demagnetized. There were no lights in the back of the building. The restaurant was excellent! We ate there 2 nights in a row. I would go there again just for the meal. I would not stay at this motel again.

Everything was great except the restaurant service was not good. The hot tub sand filtration system was blowing sand in the tub and the pool was cold.

Fitness center equipment is broken and old. Winter prices are decent but wouldn’t recommend for my summer wedding for the prices. Needs to be updated for current summer rates.

The room is clean, indoor pool and hot tub are great, overall, we had great time, the only issue is the Fitness center is not smelling good

You needed supervision to use the pool and jacuzzi

It is a very nice hotel. However, the water heater was not working; thus there was no hot water. This, however, was unusual. Good breakfast, and generally very comfortable and convenient.

Everything in our room was very clean but our bed was super uncomfortable. The pool/hottub area was nice but could have been cleaner. For what we got I don’t think it was worth the money.

The stay was good, juccizi needed sand removed from water and might adjust a little warmer. The staff was great

It seems like you have the wrong address, it is in a residential area, but its very pretty and quiet. When booking I missed that there is a restaurant here, by the way it was excellent- food and ambiance! We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Everything is nice and clean.

Breakfast was really terrible - out of yogurt, out of bacon, limited selection, old pre-wrapped low-end commercial baked goods, very salty pre-made and re-heated eggs - manager said they were waiting for deliveries - C'mon. Don't bother if you can't get it even adequate. First room they assigned us wreaked of cigarette smoke - they were nice about moving us, and said that the housekeeping staff should have flagged the room... but it was gross.

Very clean in convient area.

Room smelled like smoke, room carpet was dirty. The toilet was in the same room as the shower however, it was a tight squeeze, sitting on the toilet there was not much room in the bathroom. The outside grounds were very unkept as well as the building which was filthy and needed to be pressure washed and kept up. I would not recommend this hotel.

I was very unhappy with the room. It had a very bad odor. The rugs were old and stinky. I took a shower and the tub backed up. Awful. The lady at the front desk was a sweetheart, she gave us another room. The place need a lot of work. Pool area and hot tub is a mess.

Upon entry, i was greeted with toenail clippings all over the .ain entry room (the living room). Clippings were in tbe tub, on the couch, under the sofa table and all througjout the room in general. Then to find food and other substances unfer tbe furniture cushions and under the furniture. Then only to be found out that their hozsekeeping staff had insinuated that i left drug paraphernalia there. I have to ask, how would tbey know who left what there with their so obvious lack of actually following a cleaning regime? It didn't look like a vacuum had been run in the room for some time. But i later found out that i may no longer stay at their property. All because their housekeeper (a known drug addict) chose to slander me for no reason other than she felt it made her seem important. Perhaps the items she says she found in my room after i left, were things that she herself used in there when she was supposed to have been doing her job. BECAUSE WHAT THEY SAID THEY FOUND WAS NOT MINE. And i take great offense to their accusation. But regardless of that. The room was disgusting from tbe time i entered it.

Hotel was clean. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was surprisingly good with multiple options. We had dinner at the restaurant right on site. This hotel is on a quiet street and is close to Ticonderoga attractions. We would stay there again.

Clean rooms and friendly staff

The room itself was clean and as advertised. Unfortunately there were a lot of issues. 1. We booked this hotel partially because there was a restaurant on site. We arrived at 7 pm and the restaurant was closing due to snow, no advance warning, no additional options for dinner recommended. 2. Cable had been out in the entire building for several days and would not be fixed until the following Monday. Again, no heads up, not mentioned at check-in, no alternative entertainment options offered. 3. The pool was open- a small win! We were told at check-in just come to the front desk when you want to be let in. So we went down in our bathing suits and then were told no towels left for the pool, we’d have to use the bath towels from our room, so had to walk back to the room, key card didn’t work, walk back to the front desk, back to the room, back to the pool. We were not offered fresh towels for showers after, just had to retain and then reuse our pool towels. 4. The black out curtains were not wide enough to close and left a 3 foot wide gap, so that anyone walking by our first floor window could look right inside at us changing. We used a chip clip we had brought along to close them- so it was possible, just not engineered in a way to let guests easily get full privacy.

The smoke detector made a noise all night. We were told the hotel knew about that but still put us in the room.

Our room (117) is outdated and not clean. The carpet had a big stain on it and the furniture from another century. Just needs a makeover.

There was an excellent restaurant on site. TV only got 2 stations. Not a big deal.

These comments are based on a room cost of $992.00 for 2 nights. The furniture in the living room was quite uncomfortable with sagging and stained cushions. The fireplace was giving off heat amid 90+F temps. The elevator stopped working after we arrived. The air conditioner was a window unit located in the bedroom. We had to keep the curtains drawn open all day to benefit from the cold air because closing the curtains meant covering the air conditioner unit. Since there was no air conditioner in the living room, that area remained somewhat warm.

Staff including front desk and housekeeping were great. Restaurant was only average overall. Nice property but definitely aging.

Check in was easy. Room & bed were comfortable. We did put out the tag to have the room cleaned so we could get more towels (Handicapped shower leaked water out of the stall because the curtain (not water proof - only water resistant) was not low enough to keep the water in the shower pan which did not have a good slope to funnel the water down the drain

Inexpensive. No microwave in room. No hot water when we arrived in afternoon. There was hot water the next moring. Room AC smells like stinky feet when only fan on.

Fort Ticonderoga was only 10 minutes away. Downtown was only 2 minutes away. The room was sort of dated with worn carpet and very poor lighting. We had 2 beds in our room. One was lumpy and one was not. No premium channels on the tv. The restaurant was very good,but had a limited menu. The waitress kept using the phrase "guys" to address us. It was somewhat disrespectful. We thought the breakfast was delicious and hot. Wonderful friendly staff.

The accommodations were comfortable and clean. Only stayed for one night and had someone above my room that was heavy footed and loud late at night and early in the morning.

No room - overbooked

The hotel is nice, smells good and the restaurant is a nice option for dinner. The front desk isn’t attended without ringing a bell, which would be fine except when the front desk person did show up they continued their personal conversation with another staff member while we stood there waiting to check in. The only other annoyance was we left our “do not disturb” card in the door slot because we DIDN’T want our room serviced while we were out. The cleaning service took the card out of the slot and cleaned anyway. I would have preferred they honor the card in the door, even if they thought it was left by mistake. A simple voice message on the phone could have told us they didn’t clean because of the do not disturb card being in place.

The poor waitresses had to deal with surly customers that wanted food and beer. They had to close the restaurant and turn away many disappointed customers. Have a plan B.

I didn’t like the accommodations. We were given a handicapped room. Shower flooded the bathroom; had to get additional towels and mop it up ourselves. Very in-accommodating service.

The area is so empty and quiet. Just amazing. People are very friendly here, including the hotel stuff of course. The hotel was perfectly located for us!

Close to Fort Ticonderoga, but in a residential area. Only restaurant was the hotel one and all of the town comes there to eat. Great bar service.

Too far from the Fort and lake

Great customer service at front desk. Quiet location. Room & property was very clean.

Breakfast was pretty good. The meal at the restaurant in the evening was decidedly average. Staff were attentive. The TV is useless -- about 8 channels and all featured second or third rate programming. Bring a computer to entertain yourself.

It advertises restaurant on property, but it isn't open Sunday or Monday. Those are the days all the other restaurants in town except for the pizza place are closed. Didn't want to drive 10 miles after a long day's drive.

Kind of a well worn place that looks nothing like photos. Hall areas have a musty odor. Good location for our purposes. Dinner selections and food quality were poor. Breakfast was reasonable

It may seem a bit remote compared with other properties, but it suits its neighborhood. Good wifi and very clean overall. Attached restaurant was above the standard for dinner offerings and breakfast buffet.

Body Soap dispenser was out when we entered the room. Eating dinner only had 1 waitress and it was slow. Food was way too salty fries and fish. Table next to us sent fries back. I should have but it took too long to get food.

This day was good but very average except for the breakfast. Breakfast was supposed to be till 9 o’clock. We went down at 8 AM and by that time everything was already gone. They did make a sandwiches but no orange juice or many of the other items.and there were a lot of customers that came after us that also had to go through this. Also, it was very hot so the asphalt in the parking lot was actually sticking to our shoes.
