Great hotel, location and style. Room very big and modern. Only niggle was spa lockers iffy and few broken. Spa was great also.

This is a gorgeous building with scenic gardens and surroundings. It has a nice indoor pool and well equipped gym area although the air conditioning in the gym was poor and the lack of any sort of music made it a little awkward at times. The breakfast was one of the best I've experienced and well worth the extra cost. Parking was plentiful at the property and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. We had a superior room which was very nice and comfortable. However, it had ripped wallpaper and windows were not double glazed. It had a small radiator but no air conditioning which I imagine would be a problem in the warmer months. The shower was over the bath and my partner actually hurt her leg whilst climbing in - a power shower would have been better. The hotel bar was quite pricey at over £5.50 per beer, and the nearest pubs are a good 20 minute walk away - there are no actual pavements so we diced with death on a pitch black road. Dominos Pizza actually deliver here too, we had one on one night. Overall a lovely few days, but realistically, expect to travel out of the hotel if you don't want to be bored after a day or two.

I had a problem with openong my door but the manager helped me get in. Could do with upgrading the locking systems but other than that the overall stay was great. The room was big and clean. The free use of gym, pool steam room and sauna was a great way of unwinding after a long day at work.

Crabwall Manor looks stunning as you arrive. We visited during the Christmas period and it was decorated beautifully with lights and trees. Checkin was easy and staff helpful with ordering a tax so we could visit the Christmas market. The room was spacious and clean. Bed was really comfortable too. The blinds on the skylights were broken so, had to use a coat hanger to reach to close them. We also had a leak on the extractor fan in the bathroom. This was following a tremendous amount of rain. Reported to reception. Breakfast was really lovely. Great choice and even better quality. Dining area was decorated for Christmas. Nice environment to eat. The spa is betting ready for an overall. The changing rooms look tired with a few locker doors in desperate need of repair. The pool and pool area was clean with a small sauna and larger steam room. The steam room wasn’t working so, was simply a room unfortunately. There wasn’t any hot water for showers either due to a maintenance issue. Overall, we enjoyed the stay and the value for money was good. A little love and care in some areas and the hotel and spa will be even better!

Room 3 has several issues: 1. There’s a massive gap under the door which is so big you can see the carpet in the hallway through it. The gap also means all the light and noise from the hall can be seen/heard from inside the room. The door is a push/ pull but on the inside there’s not a pull bar handle installed which means the lever handle is coming lose and the fixings are exposed. 2. The floorboards squeak so loudly! In part of the room the floorboards are sinking so you feel like you could go through the carpet at any moment. 3. The window has privacy filmed installed to hide the ugly view, the window also has a tatty roller blind installed which is pointless as is does not block out any daylight. 4. The desk is lent against the wall to keep it upright so as soon as you lean on it, it tips – dangerous as this is where the kettle is. 5. One of the bedside lights wasn’t working. The en-suite also has problems. 1. The grouting is missing between the floor tiles. 2. The sealant is thick and messy. 3. The lock on the door doesn’t work. 4. The shower is just a rainfall head, no handheld attachment. 5. Theres a sign which states at peak times it can take up to 15 minutes for hot water to come through, I showered at 06:00am and the water was boiling hot or scolding, so the temperature control needs fixing. 6. There should be a light over the mirror. Overall cleanliness was a problem too.

The staff were fine. However the property was in great need of attention. Furniture in room was ripped, water tepid, property generally in need of a thorough cleaning. Property has great potential but needs attention for it to realise that potential.

We have previously stayed in this property, this is why we again choose to stay here. However, we shall not be doing so again. The staff were lovely and the grounds are well kept, but the room was a different story. When we arrive all seemed ok, but as we looked more closely around the room the more we were disappointed. There was cello-tape left on the walls, the curtain nets were ripped to pieces, the sink had a huge crack in it, the was black mould around the shower glass, mark on the glass table tops, the bath was unsafe as it was so slippery and finally the pillows had no protection so were covered in yellow stains. Overall we were very unimpressed and disappointed that the basic standards weren’t there. It’s fair to say we shall not be staying here again.

Friendly staff.. Although there is a warning in the rooms, only able to get a Luke warm bath and 2 cold showers. Unfortunately the Steam room was out of order and apparently had been for over a month. Cleanliness of the sauna and the pool leave a lot to be desired as there was rubbish left on poolside from the evening before and in the sauna.

Wifi in our room was hit and miss which was a bit of disappointment for the kids. Beds were comfy and we all slept well. Breakfast room was very dated and our table was wobbly, tables and chairs need renewing in my opinion. Overall though non of my niggles impacted our stay.

This hotel needs serious refurbishment. Hallway and breakfast room carpets stained and grubby. Mouldy sealant in shower cubicle. Paint on curtains. Loose door handles. Rubbish bin had coffee stains on outside. Holes in furniture fabric. Bed was comfortable and hotel relatively quiet

We enjoyed our stay, the hotel is lovely and the staff on breakfast service were very accommodating. However, my husband had to go to reception on the first night because we spotted a dark patch through the duvet cover, on pulling the cover back there was a patch of blood bigger than my hand. The lady who came in to remove the duvet didn't apologise, she just looked embarrassed. I was uncomfortable after this and went and bought my own cover to sleep under. I know this can be seen as an over-reaction, but that's how I felt. I do have a photo, but I dont think it's family friendly. It is ashame because this is the first time in 10 years since we've been away for my birthday.

Faulty Towers springs to mind. Poor service, very unclean, stains on bed linen, damp on walls, feisty smell. Tried to book into the empty restaurant, only to be told that there was a 2 x hour wait. I had to drive into Chester to get food. Breakfast is as like a game of hide and seek to find the cooked food option. When complained I was given a better room but once again the furniture looked like it was out of a second hand shop and had no padding and the chair in the room was filthy. An absolute disgrace, please avoid at all costs!

Let me start by saying i have stayed here more than a few times in the past with no issues. After arriving in my room and reporting a toilet seat covered in dry urine and pubic hair, I went to the gym. bathroom cleaned while I was in the gym, however found that when I went to have a shower the temp controller was broken, so it was cold. Reported it, then reminded them again before I left the next morning. Returned in the evening and the shower was not fixed. However when I reported it again someone from reception came to my room, with no tools and stood with their hand in the shower for 5 minutes, in case I didn't know how to use it. Had two meals at the hotel, food was still good.

Clean but worn out mattress (both sides of double bed). Radiator didn’t work so slightly cold in the evening making it uncomfortable.

I stayed in room 52 this week and there was a horrible smell on arrival. I had to keep the window open to try and get some fresh air in which didn’t help. This made the room cold and, when the window was closed, the heating/ radiator wouldn’t work. Last week the bed was worn out. While staying away with work I would like a comfortable room. I have unfortunately been disappointed the last two weeks.

Not the best unfortunately. First room we had the bed had a big sink hole,.unsure how tnay could go unnoticed when the bed was being made. Staff were great in getting us a replacement room. This did mean we had to wait around a little whilst they made it into a twin room. I am the type of person that likes my twin bed to be moved away from the other bed, I.like.space. I.dont think under the bed had ever been cleaned. However all the ither areas of the room weree spotless. Bedding was lovey & fresh. We went out for the evening upon return I felt the room.was a little cold but was unable to.turn the heating on. Decided to watch tv for an hour before bed but the TV had no signal. I did give feedback to the staff in the morning and was told they knew about the TV issues. She unfortunately didn’t seem bothered by anything just the genric sorry about that. For the price I paid I dont think it was value for money. Positives - rooms spacious and.the spa was good.

The property was fine however room 54 is so noisy its like sleeping in a boiler plant room. Everything else was ok.

Visited this hotel numerous times and always enjoy the stay. Unfortunately this time it was a let down. Firstly, no upgrade. As a gold member we usually receive an upgraded room. Although rooms weee available we did not receive. The hotel is starting to look tired and in need of investment. Our room was spacious however signs of damage caused by damp, with flaking paint. The decor was poor, no bedside table and the painting looked like it had been done by a child, with missed patches and their were lots of old cob webs. Last stay here for us I think.

It was a nice stay, just the bed let it down, we really ended up in the middle of the bed as the matress dipped in the middle. I did book a twin, but didnt say anything, it didnt really matter it was a double, execpt it wasnt the best mattress

Office staff called in. Tables were not cleared. Hot breakfast ran out. No tea or coffee. Ended up getting some milk and making a drink in the room. If they can’t get staff, they should just offer a good continental style breakfast. According to other guest, breakfast was just as bad the previous morning. All guests were very unhappy.

Nice hotel with spacious room. The spa and gym need updating. Unfortunately the service was generally poor. The staff are not very well trained and don’t offer to look into anything if they don’t know the answer. More specific training and general customer service training would help to improve the service.

Rooms and spa excellent. Food very good Service in restaurant a little disappointing. Young Indian girl was reluctant to seat 4 of us together. Then we were missing a table setting and then she filled our water glasses with a degree of impatience, spilling water on the table .

Fantastic and friendly staff they couldn’t do more to help.

The restaurant and bar staff didn't seem to know what they were doing when I paid the bill for the evening meal They even asked when checking out the next morning could I pay my restaurant bill. ( Which I had to prove ) I will be getting in touch with Expedia to check if I booked breakfast which I had to pay for at check in. Regards Mr Davies

Excellent hotel wouldn't hesitate to return. Friendly staff,good food excellent service and a fantastic room great value.

The room was clean, staff very friendly and helpful. I had room 7, not much of a view from window though, it looked straight out at the air vent for the kitchen so occasionally had cooking smells wafting into the room, other than that a pleasant stay.

The hotel looked really nice from the outside but was abit outdated inside. Was a great location for the price to get a uber into Chester for the Xmas markets. Was decorated for Xmas which we liked. Staff were not very friendly on check in , didn’t even tell us that there was a spa or gym to use or where to go for breakfast. Room was nice and clean , bed comfy. Would recommend for price and location and parking.

Lovely hotel. Beautiful setting and grounds. Nice large room nicely decorated. Well situated to get to Chester or the Wirral. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed at Crabwall on many occasions, this hotel is a benefit for myself & will be for others. Chester city centre is five minutes drive away the zoo is around the same & Cheshire oaks retail park.

Beautiful grounds and the pool was divine! About a £10 or less taxi in and out of Chester

Lovely stay, very welcoming and was delighted to discover we had been provided with an upgrade to a junior suite. This is our second visit and sure we will return. We like Chester and this hotel is well located for the centre and shopping etc.

Stayed at the hotel for a wedding, good location and convenient for Chester.

I stayed here a few nights ago, no issues at all, my room was clean and tidy, breakfast was great. Every interaction with staff members was pleasant. My only tiny issue is and it may be my fault just as much - but the signage to the property isn’t fantastic and even though I know the area very well with living there for 8 years and I missed the turn off in thick fog granted, but it can be misleading. Apart from that issue I cannot fault the place

It is a lovely looking property on the outskirts of Chester, 15 mins from Chester, Cheshire Oaks/Ellesmere Port. Plenty of free parking on site. Room and bathroom were large and staff were really friendly and helpful. Has spa with good size pool, jacuzzi, steam room and small sauna, extra treatments and gym. Towels are free but guests have to pay for bathrobes. Room not ready on arrival (after check in time), wedding at the hotel overnight which closed the main bar to other residents, leaving the ‘small bar’ to serve the residents (approx 20 ft by 20ft with one table and a few chairs). No availability in restaurant between 18:20 and 20:45. Spa was very busy on Friday afternoon with parents and children, and water in jacuzzi was a bit cloudy. Once issues raised with hotel mgmt, we secured a place in the restaurant at 19:00 and a free drink. Other staff were really friendly. Room was big but only one easy chair and desk chair. Would be nice to have more furniture. Did not have the feel of a quality hotel.

A nice pleasant stay eith my two daughters to celebrate my birthday. Very nice welcome from Reception staff. Room was large and very comfortable. We ate in the bar area, which was nice , a little expensive but was tasty. Lovely poor area, the temperature of the pool was perfect. Lovely location not too far from Cheshire Oaks. I would return.

Hotel was great all I will say is the breakfast not so good, no plates, tea cups, fresh orange. Not all the breakfast was available either when we went down no hash browns, eggs, toast and the same with some of the continental.

Hotel lovely venue with lovely size rooms and lovely spa .. Limited menu as hotel kitchen being refurbished which was fine food was lovely service was great Bedroom was lovely clean , Toney issue was the bath tub plug was very booked so was pleasant as water fill bath as showered and took so long to go we report this to reception which they would sort I would go back as lovely setting and easy access to Cheshire oaks and Chester I feel as residence you should also not pay for towelling robe should part of your stay

Bedroom looked a little shabby, wallpaper peeling off the walls, plug sockets not easily accessible. Food was good, bar prices expensive, service a little slow but staff friendly. Didn’t have breakfast

Great room , lovely bathroom . Great reception staff. The one thing letting it down was food arrived at 7pm tired and were told all dining slots taken up by package guests . The bar menu was available..standard fare. Unfortunatley a very very lomg wait for a margeurita pizza and fish finger butty .

The rooms are nice but basic e.g. basic coffee and tea which for a nice hotel seems off. Food is terribly overpriced. Wetherspoons quality for hotel prices. Breakfast is the same, and nothing for you if you are gluten or lactose intolerant really.

Excellent greeting upon arrival. A lovely welcome and our room was lovely. A large room with excellent bathroom and a nice view This is a beautiful hotel. The food was excellent, great service at the bar too. In the lounge var area, ample cosy seating, beautiful views all around the hotel grounds. Nice music in the back ground. We would certainly book again.

Would stay again but the bar was out of stock of ALOT of items. Would have spent more money there if these were available
