Booked through a third party and it wasn’t clear to me that you need to pay £5 per person per day for use of gym and pool and £5 per 24 hours of parking, in addition to breakfast being £10pp. I’d rather these costs were just included at the outset, rather than add ons. Bed wasn’t great and the pillows were so uncomfortable. Noticed mould in the showers of the women’s changing room.

We stayed here mainly for the swimming pool for our 2 year old son. Our disappointment when it was closed tarnished our stay. Also the fire alarm going off at 5.45 on Monday morning did not help

Room was serviceable, although missing a stool. The bathroom was not very clean, sink blocked with hair and shower head blocked with scum or something, clearly not checked when cleaned. Breakfast is very average. I asked for runny poached eggs and got solid hard boiled. Limited selection. Pool and gym are quite good.

The room was very expensive for what it was. The parking charge on top was unexpected and I feel wrong considering we paid £150 already for a room with no breakfast. Felt a bit ripped off.

Paid extra for a Club Room, which turned out to be dirty and in very poor condition. Marks all over the walls. Large dent in the wall with plaster falling off, which looked like someone had punched the wall and it had just been left. Dubious stains on the bathroom floor and doorframe. Dust and grime suggests it has not been deep cleaned in a very long time. We arrived late and didn’t want to switch rooms but wish we had when at 4am the shower started by itself and woke us. Seemed to be an issue with water pressure as the rainfall shower was also terribly weak when we came to use it. This was my third visit to a village hotel this year and it will be my last. Used to be a go to choice but they are simply not spending the money to refresh the tired rooms and the condition and cleanliness is abysmal.

Booked a club room package with breakfast and facilities use. On arrival I thought everything looked reasonable. Reception has a self check-in that had a member of staff available. Seemed very impersonal and peculiar given there was a staff member there. Bedroom was decorated to a decent standard but the cleanliness was way below expectations. Carpets scruffy and dirty. Bathroom floor and fixings were dirty, dusty and full of previous guests hairs! Cobwebs everywhere. Bar area was ok. Pizzas were good. Used the virtual darts board which was fun, but charging £10 per person for 1 hour was expensive (each extra would be the same but same time) Had to return to reception to ask about breakfast, was told 8-10:30. Breakfast was what you’d expect from a buffet. Came down for breakfast at 09:05 on the Monday morning and watched everything being taken away! Ask receptionist what was going and to be told breakfast finishes at 9 on a weekday, and there was nothing she could do! She asked if we had been informed at check in. No attempt to help rectify, was just informed it’s on the “news paper” left in our room! She then pointed to the in-house Starbucks which obviously defeated the purpose and was not a reasonable solution in my eyes given I’d already paid for breakfast. Other family members staying had the same issue, along with another guest whom overheard us in the lift. I will avoid for any future accommodation needs.

Good communal spaces and perfectly situated for the the centre. The room itself needed some TLC ie flaking paint on external wall and bathroom door, stains on the fabric bedstead and bathpanel (which didn't look as if it had been cleaned) was held on by a couple of screws

Village hotel Warrington is a nice hotel and it's short walk to city centre with good choice of restaurants, pubs and cafes. It's own restaurant is alright but the food choice is limited and maybe a bit expensive. Rooms are clean and comfortable, there's gym and swimming pool worth visiting and a café inside the hotel, good breakfast, free parking, overall a good choice of hotel in the area, certainly recommended.

This hotel is a good example of how, with the right marketing budget, you can create an image that doesn’t reflect the reality. Normally, we’re not fans of posting negative reviews, but since we, as a family, stayed for a week in a family room, we would like to share our experiences in the hope that others can benefit from them. The facilities seemed promising, after all, it was a 4-star rated hotel. However, nothing could be further from the truth. The focus seemed to be mainly on secondary activities like a gym and a pool that was open to everyone, rather than on the hotel’s primary offerings. The gym and pool were fine, generally clean apart from some minor maintenance issues. The hotel room itself was not clean, with common issues like a lot of hair in the shower and bath drains, the room hadn’t been vacuumed, the beds weren’t made, and the number of towels varied daily. The fact that the heating didn’t work on the first day (hence the extra space heater) and that there was no hot water one afternoon due to a malfunction, we accepted as isolated incidents. However, other reviews suggest that these issues occur regularly. We really got a motel feeling from this place, definitely not a 4-star experience. At best, it felt like a 3-star hotel, barely. After sharing this feedback with the staff (who were generally friendly and helpful), the situation regarding housekeeping unfortunately did not improve. Stayed two nights for work, having arrived and being exhausted I ate and went up and got into bed, only on waking in the morning did I find my sheets were stained from what looked like fake tan of which i don’t use. The level of dust around that had been overlooked and a sink that didn’t drain. Staff did sort me a new room for the second night which was fine and with a complimentary coffee

Our stay was terrible. We were given a room directly above the function room where a loud party was going on until 1:00am. When we requested a move to a quieter location we were told that the hotel was fully booked. Why the consider it acceptable to place anyone in room 152 during a function is beyond me. Also, despite complaining we've received zero communication from the hotel management. Terrible customer service

This is our third time staying at the village when we go back to Warrington with my mom to visit her hometown. The Village is a perfect location and the staff is amazing. Our only complaint is the lighting in the rooms is aweful when trying to get ready. And plug access is also limited to areas where you need them when trying to get ready. But with that being said, the rooms are nice, not a lot of extra ammentities, but it's fine for sleeping and being close to the town center, Stockton Heath and Bank Quay train station.

Two nights on the trot, there were events happening - a disco and then a wedding. We complained to staff about the loud music on the 2nd night - Sat 19th July, about 11:30pm. I was smirked at by one of the staff on duty at the desk that night and the comment "well there's a wedding going on". We were on the 2nd floor of the hotel of the hotel and could have joined in with the dancing, because it was so loud. This carried on beyond 1am. I did say to the staff member that I am a guest of the hotel and NOT the wedding and that surely the music level should be turned down at a reasonable hour. WON'T STAY THERE AGAIN

I have stayed at several Village hotels and this was one of the better ones. The room was spacious and clean although right above the gym so there were gym classes with music to contend with. The “let down” was the breakfast which was honestly terrible. Lukewarm reconstituted egg and measly selection. I would only return for work.

Staff are very friendly. Food and drink is expensive. Rooms are clean, tidy and modern but no sound proofing has been used in the construction. You can hear everyone's door closing in corridor, next doors TV and conversions, toilets flushing and I even had a room over the squash court before I asked to be moved.

The room was very comfortable, but slight signs of aging. Paint flaking on the walls, and a stain in the headboard. But these are minor to the comfortable bed and quality of the room. The staff were excellent. I watched a young lad in the restaurant, who was looking after a lady with mobility issues. He did everything for her he could to help her and she never had to lift a finger. He came over to my table and was so pleasant, he and the other breakfast staff were a credit to the the hotel. Thanks for making my stay so pleasant.

Our engineer arrived on site to be told there was no room in the name given. I booked the room for one of my engineers so he gave them my name, then we sent him the reservation under his name and was told that there was no record anywhere they were full up and to take it up with Expedia. The receptionist was extremely rude and did not want to provide any help

Two nights on the trot, there were events happening - a disco and then a wedding. We complained to staff about the loud music on the 2nd night - Sat 19th July, about 11:30pm. I was smirked at by one of the staff on duty at the desk that night and the comment "well there's a wedding going on". We were on the 2nd floor of the hotel of the hotel and could have joined in with the dancing, because it was so loud. This carried on beyond 1am. I did say to the staff member that I am a guest of the hotel and NOT the wedding and that surely the music level should be turned down at a reasonable hour. WON'T STAY THERE AGAIN

Great from start to finish, for the 2nd time. Easy to find, plenty of parking, quick check in and decent size rooms. We're not gym folk but it looks good and a decent size pool. Breakfast is plentiful, great selection, tadty and hot, also a relaxing atmosphere. The staff are friendly, and James on the front desk was very helpful, thanks.

We were staying at the hotel for a wedding; due to creamfields being on in the area we paid well over the usual price, which was fine and convenient for us. On arrival we decided it would be a good idea to extend our room for a late check out, I paid the extra cost and the person on reception confirmed this was added to the booking. We had a wonderful time at the wedding and were looking forwards to a late lie in bed only to be knocked up at 10.55 and the room entered by the cleaner, I told her I had a late check out and she apologised and advised there is nothing on the booking, I told her I had paid the extra and it was all confirmed and I won’t be leaving until that time, she said again she had not been informed and apologised, by this time my partner was now awake we are both in bed and I’m trying to explain this whilst clutching the covers to protect my modesty. Housekeeping then thankfully closed the door. On checking out around 12.30 we advised the receptionist, she apologised and said this was clearly stated on the booking, we were offered coffee on leaving but we were going for breakfast so didn’t want one but were advised someone would call us, unfortunately this never happened.

This is our third time staying at the village when we go back to Warrington with my mom to visit her hometown. The Village is a perfect location and the staff is amazing. Our only complaint is the lighting in the rooms is aweful when trying to get ready. And plug access is also limited to areas where you need them when trying to get ready. But with that being said, the rooms are nice, not a lot of extra ammentities, but it's fine for sleeping and being close to the town center, Stockton Heath and Bank Quay train station.

Village hotel Warrington is a nice hotel and it's short walk to city centre with good choice of restaurants, pubs and cafes. It's own restaurant is alright but the food choice is limited and maybe a bit expensive. Rooms are clean and comfortable, there's gym and swimming pool worth visiting and a café inside the hotel, good breakfast, free parking, overall a good choice of hotel in the area, certainly recommended.

Stayed overnight. Lovely, clean room with comfortable breakfast. Breakfast was good with good selection, hot and tasty. Everything meal not fantastic. Asked for medium steak and it was overcooked and tough. Didn’t complain as was shattered and just needed to eat but at £30 they need to cook it as requested. However, would definitely stay again.

Excellent hotel, loved using the gym and the Starbucks. This would have been a 5 star review but the restaurant bar let the experience down a bit. Village hotels are a gym centric chain and as such I'd expect them to promote wellness and healthy living but the bar menu is all meat and BBQ fries stuff. A couple of veggie option not clearly labelled as vegan or vegetarian and this was disappointing. Everything else was excellent and I will use village hotels wherever possible now but I'll look for an alternative place to eat.

You can't go wrong with village hotels tbf, good rooms, good bar and good leisure facilities. My issue with this stay was when I ate in the bar. The bar was fairly busy and as I had my pc with me, I decided to use the app to order from my table. After waiting 30 minutes with not even the drink being brought over, I went to the bar where the girl poured my pint. She then asked a guy to check on my food, following which that was brought out a couple of minutes later. I can only imagine that my order was forgotten, given that nothing had happened until I queried it. Apart from that, no issues with the stay.

Great 2 night stay - breakfast was lovely, added on once we arrived with the QR code in the room for £10pp. 5 min walk into Warrington town, with shops and restaurants. Had lunch at the hotel Saturday and was lovely. Showed live sports and staff were happy to change screens to the team you wanted. Will stay again

I have stayed at several Village hotels and this was one of the better ones. The room was spacious and clean although right above the gym so there were gym classes with music to contend with. The “let down” was the breakfast which was honestly terrible. Lukewarm reconstituted egg and measly selection. I would only return for work.

Room was serviceable, although missing a stool. The bathroom was not very clean, sink blocked with hair and shower head blocked with scum or something, clearly not checked when cleaned. Breakfast is very average. I asked for runny poached eggs and got solid hard boiled. Limited selection. Pool and gym are quite good.

In my thirty years of staying in hotels for work probably my worse experience and I have never complained in my life before. 2star at best, dinner was no better than a Witherspoons and breakfast was a disaster. I had to ask along with three other guests to refill the buffet and when eventually they did my hash brown was still frozen inside along with cold beans. I request some form of compensation for this appalling experience after paying £213 for one night stay. Outrageous

Great hotel. Large comfortable room, to be honest it was a little too large! Lots of empty space which was a little wasted. Bathroom was also quite large. But the bed was comfortable. I always find Village hotel rooms a little uninspiring, the room decor is plain and functional with no frills. Facilities are always pretty good though, even though I don't often get the chance to use them unfortunately. Food is generally quite good and the choice is varied. Breakfast is more traditional but what you'd expect. I have a beef with any hotel that doesn't have fresh orange juice though, I hate watered down squash and a lot of hotels have ditched fresh juice I guess to save costs, seems very stingy to me. Not just Village hotels, lots of then in the mid-price range do this. Staff were excellent, and always are.
