The hotel was amazing with exceptional service and clean with an excellent view from our room and idealy situated, the only very big downside is the amojnt of dogs that were in the hotel and alowed in the dining room, a big no no for me although I love pets, on one occasion my wife was walking into the restaurant and nearly stepped in dogs mess that was on the floor in the dinning room were we were eating our breakfast you need to address this problem for health reasons, unfortunately for this problem I will not be returning to this hotel any time soon. Unfortunately.

Was staying in Newquay for the weekend to do some sightseeing. Hotel was clean and staff were friendly. Only let down is the hotel needs some updating. A lick of paint, maybe some new doors and windows. Other than this it was great and wouldn’t mind stopping again. The pub downstairs was great, only has breakfast there that was nice. Went down for a drink every night, they had live music on Friday and a quiz on Sunday which we thought was great! You’re in a certain location where you can walking to just about everywhere in Newquay.

Hotel offered incredible value for money. Its proximity to the beach and restaurants was so convenient. What truly stood out was the mesmerizing sea view from the restaurant – it added an extra layer of charm to my dining experience.

The hotel was perfect for a few nights ...room fine...shower good with decent force... Pub part was good for breakfast and evening meal...also had entertainment on the friday night...great views from outdoor seating area...all staff lovely... No issues with the hotel it was just the area outside had alot of tired looking buildings...closed shops... Did have a morrisons opposite which handy as forgot a few things ....burger king...domino's and a few chinese We hadnt pre booked parking which was limited spaces but we parked over the road which was £12 per 24 hours in the station car park...you could pay it all.in one go...display the ticket and not have to go back each day to put on a new ticket... It suited everything we needed for a weekend

Location is great but hotel is run down and park only available if pre-booked . which i found out when i arrived. It cost me an extra £36 to park for 3 days

After travelling in a very elderly lift and negotiating a labyrinth of out-dated and somewhat scruffy corridors, our light bright and spacious room was something of a surprise. Although it was essentially a white box with a view of the bins, some attractive furniture and soft furnishings in sea-side colours gave it a lot of charm. The bathroom was also spacious, light and bright. It was all spotlessly clean and well-equipped with all the basics including good-quality tea, coffee and biscuits. With its convenient location near to the station and lots of restaurants and its cliff-top position, the Great Western is a great and good value base in Newquay

The hotel was dirty. The bathroom smely of urine. The bed sheets were not cnanged every day. It took 10 mins waiting time for the toilet's cistern to fill before it could be flushed again. The hotel has not been modernised since it was built in the 1800s. The was a damp patch on the ceiling of the disabled room that my friend and I stayed in. It only has freeview TV. I would never stay there again and nor would I recommend it.

Awful hotel. Rooms are filthy and the entire building is run down. None of the rooms look anything like how they were advertised, bathrooms have mould growing and none of the items in the room eg. the tissue box have been cleaned let alone restocked.

Hotel very dated but lovely and clean. Well done house keeping. All staff very friendly and its in a great position in Newquay for walking to the beaches. There is a Bus stop right outside the hotel to the airport which cost £3 each.

Nice hotel. Beautiful views in the bar/ dining area. Staff were helpful. Room was ok. Needed an update. We were horrified to discover bloody stained sheets on our bed and lots of body hairs. We are convinced the bed had not been changed. Staff changed the bed. I made a complaint but no response from the manager. Parking outside the front door was perfect. Although we were over charged for this. The entertainment on Saturday night was great. Good was nice.

Room was clean and spacious decour need addressing skirting boards looked liked they had been rubbed down but not painted so were a multi coloured and areas on wall 1 different shades on same wall bed was comfy but had what sounded like a motor keep kicking in at night so disturbed sleep

Staff, every single one of them polite, couldnt do enough to help. All room clean, a bit dated but that was the only negative. Except window in room was broke but tild reception and they were in it. Food great, breakfast included every breakfast you could imagine frim full English, salmon, pancakes whatever you wanted just ask. Really really enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back. Booked parking prior to stay and our name was on the wall ready and waiting for our arrival.

Hotel is fine for one night away. Parking is an issue, but down the road, if you dont mind a 2 minute walk, is a small 24hour car park, cheaper than the £10 per night the hotel charges. Floorboards in room 223 were extremely creaky. I feel sorry if anyone stays below. Walls were stained. In need of a repaint. Wobbly taps, broken shower (needs a new washer fitted to stop the leaking - not “ecofriendly”). Room unbearably hot during the night. Bed was comfy. Sheets were clean. Great location in the centre of town. Easy to walk to beaches and restaurants, but don’t stay more than one night.

Bedroom Right above to the dustbins and kitchen vents and boiler chimney so very noisy especially on 5 am bin collection. They couldn’t offer an alternative room as coming up to bank holiday weekend. Also very creeky floor boards.

Everything was nicely laid out ,the room was lovely,the staff were helpful and friendly and there was a working lift which helped a lot as we were on the second floor.All in all a very enjoyable weekend break.

I stay here whenever I am in Newquay, the price represents great value, but for me, its the staff that make the difference. From the super efficient lady on check in, to the friendly restaurant and bar staff, they are all amazing and look to clearly enjoy working there.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Had an issue with my riom and I was helped straight away with no issues at all. The room was nice and cleaned everyday. The food was good and tasty and very good value for money. Would highly recommend a stay there and hopefully i can go again

Right in centre of Newquay, close to Beaches, Main Street and Railway Station. Outside of building does look a bit weather worn but that is probably only to be expected given the location The Bar and Dining area is relatively spacious & the included breakfast was pretty good! Room was smallish, relatively comfortable bed and a clean toilet and shower. Hotel staff were all extremely pleasant!

It's an older building which comes with its drawbacks like noise insulation not being 1st grade. The facilities are decent and comfortable enough. Breakfast is good. Location is excellent, right next to the sea and beach. Train station less than a 5 min walk. Restaurants close by. 30 min walk to Fistral beach.

Great Western is a fab option for Newquay. Reasonably priced and value for money. Comfy bed. Good shower and fantastic breakfast and choice. Great location by the beach, eateries and bars.

This is an older hotel, but shows that it has been maintained. We had a nice ocean view, the room was decently sized, had an updated bathroom. We ate at the restaurant a couple of times and had nice meals there. I especially appreciated their laundry service, since we packed light on our tour of the UK.
