Hotel should say where car park is located, not easy to find. Also, while trying to enter the hotel, my wife was set upon by three women who tried to steal from her. A very traumatic experience which didn't seem to surprise the hotel staff. Location was great and staff were very efficient, however, our stay was disappointing.

There was a water leak outside our room (the water actually came into our room) which had happened in the past (see the mold on the baseboard). This seemed liked no big deal to them as they would not move us. The parking lot was a fair distance to the front desk. Every time you want to get your car in or out, you have to double park the car, walk inside and tell them to open the gate. They should have a text system. The rooms were fine (except the mold). There is a Michelin restaurant at the hotel which was quite good.

By far the most unique “family room” we’ve stayed in but it was great. We were a family of 4 with 2 little children and each had their own bed in this 5th floor (room 580) open space room. The elevator is tiny, the stairs are plenty but the room was great. It gave us appropriate space for our family and a huge bathroom for bath for the girls and showers for us! The hotel staff was very accommodating. The pizzeria on the 2nd floor was delightful abd the hotel recommendation for great dining was on poin (Osteria 051) We would define stay here again The only downfall was we walked to the Piazza everyday and it’s a good 12 minute walk

Good clean hotel with friendly staff. Nice room although very generic - doesn't reflect charm of Medieval Bologna. Gorgeous rooftop bar. Hairdryer didn't work and toilet ran sometimes.

The hotel is located outside of the ZTL zone but just around the border so one might accidentally enter the ZTL zone, like us, when driving to the hotel. Best is to set route to avoid ZTL zone on Waze and don’t get lost. The hotel staff is super friendly and helpful. The car park is located literally next to the hotel and is gated and exclusively for hotel guest so a plus. Excellent breakfast buffet spread. The hotel has excellent dining options including a Michelin starred restaurant. The only thing we didn’t like was the uncarpeted floor in the room and relatively small shower stall. The hotel is in the city center so very convenient to walk around for sight seeing and shopping.

The a/c in the room struggled. Our tv did not work on the first day and we had to figure out how to fix it on our own. They had several large events which were loud and prevented us from enjoying the lounge as a group.

Well located close to the heart of Bologna, staff was nice but not over accomodating. Room was old, bathroom needs update and sheets of the bed were not comfortable. Elevators are small. I wouldnt stay there again.

Just okay/serviceable. Room was modern, but dusty surfaces and dust bunnies on the ground. Shower lever was broken, but my husband was handy and fixed it. Front desk was just okay too when we asked for advice to get around. Also Expedia drink credit could only be used on alcohol, which was really stated and hotel wasn’t willing to accommodate with another beverage.

En revanche la chambre est vieillotte, odeur d’égout masquée par un désodorisant, des moutons partout sous les meubles, salle de bain avec une seule ampoule et une porte qui touche chaque élément… les plats du petit déjeuner sont médiocres, et j’ai peine à croire que le restaurant (actuellement fermé) ait pu décrocher une etoile Michelin. The general experience was extremely positive, from the arrival at their parking, the check in and the room. Everything was very good, staff is kind and helpful, room is very clean and spotless, amenities at your disposal, comfortable bed. Breakfast is rich with quality products, I found organic jams and honey which I use to buy for myself and the environment of breakfast room is delightful (Eden theatre). Also, hotel is situated in the heart of the city, making it an ideal location for your stay in Bologna. This all makes it a wonderful experience, you leave with a smile on your face.

The hotel was very close to the train station and to walk to shops. This location is very convenient. The room/bathroom was not very clean. The lighting in the room was very dark- even in the bathroom, which is not good for applying makeup. I would not choose to stay here again.

Non è assolutamente un hotel da 4 stelle luxury massimo un 3 stelle. Prenotazione per un weekend. Entrati nell'hotel notiamo subito capelli dappertutto in bagno, mancanza di sapone mani e doccia, e asciugamani bidet. Fatto notare subito alle ragazza della pulizia ma purtroppo nemmeno parlava una parola in italiano, poi è venuta la responsabile che a mala pena se la cavava con l'italiano... Polvere a non finire, i vestiti nella valigia a fine week-end erano completamente impolverati e di conseguenza anche noi. Ascensore molto datata e traballante molto datata che funge anche da ascensore di servizio per il personale delle camere. Parcheggio a pagamento nell'hotel a 25€ ma è accessibile anche da parco qui di fianco tramite due scalinate quindi non proprio sicuro. Colazione decente. Le camere sono collegate con i ristoranti con libero accesso dall'esterno quindi sicurezza zero.

Purtroppo una federa aveva delle macchie di muffa/sporco/qualcosa dí non identificato che ho scoperto solo al mattino. La colazione, sebbene servita in una location molto bella (la stessa del ristorante stellato) è stata pessima: mortadella acida che puzzava (a Bologna è sacrilegio), salame dal color marroncino e speck passato per culatello. I Portici is a swanky modern hotel in Bologna, near both the city center and the train station. The building is freshly renovated and everything feels new and functional. Nice decor, good heating, good soundproofing. Rooms are comfortable and very spacious. The bathroom large and warm. WiFi is fast and free, and there are enough power plugs near the bed. The only criticism I have is about the pillows, too thin and soft, which is a pity as the beds are otherwise very comfortable. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again.

Das Hotel liegt zentral zwischen Hauptbahnhof und Altstadt, alles zu Fuß gut erreichbar. Schönes Zimmer, großes Bad aber wenig Ablagefläche im Bad. Sehr hellhörig von der Strasse, dadurch konnten wir das Fenster nicht öffnen und auch von den anderen Zimmern hört man allles! Für uns war es für eine Nacht voll okay!

Very small window (very high located and very small, cannot really open this so you can’t call it a window). I wish there was a warning when booking the room because the general pictures of the hotel is that it’s bright and open, etc. But that is the opposite of our room. It was tiny and no window basically. There’s construction outside so it was weird not knowing whether where we can park and if we can get parking. I texted their number but did not get a reply. Bed is comfortable but aircon is centralized (noisy and cannot adjust the temperature) so it was hard for me to sleep I feel very hot in the room. Overall okay, but I will maybe use other hotels if I’m back in Bologna.

When I arrived, there was a big queue at the check-in. They gave me then the wrong room with a single bed than a queen bed (as booked). When I checked out, I had again to wait 10 minutes. Staff is rather slow and not experienced. Room was okay, but nothing special. But for the rate I paid, more or less okay. Also Bologna appears to suffer from overtourism. Servive personnel are often as in this hotel foreigners with bad training.

Lovely hotel in an ideal location for us as we arrived by train. Lovely spacious room. We arrived before check in but were able to leave our bags and when we came back they had already been taken to our room which was very helpful! Breakfast was an amazing buffet. Staff were most helpful at check in and again on leaving, particularly Gary.

Property is in an excellent location if you’re planning to walk around Bologna. It’s clean and decorated nicely, room is a little tight. Staff could be a tad friendlier. We arrived early b/c we were driving from Venice, we weren’t expecting our room to be ready. We just wanted to park at the hotel and leave our luggage. They looked shocked and borderline insulted that we arrived early. The receptionist practically barked, “the room isn’t ready yet, you’re too early!” We reassured her we weren’t expecting it to be ready, only wanted to leave our things and explore the city. Overall place was nice, it fulfilled its purpose as a quick stop on our Italian road trip.

He was a little bit unfriendly ..even though the restaurant sold out for the evening …it was odd we wanted to just looking at the menu for the Next time we are available to book the next time we’re in the city It was an uncomfortable interruption that we were having with a server was fine enough to give us a menu as requested. We did not ask for a reservation that night. Thank you

The location of the hotel is great, but there are several issues to note. The rooms are quite small, and the staff is generally inattentive. We arrived at the hotel bar for a last drink at 11:40 PM, only to be told that we wouldn’t be served because they had closed the till, despite the bar being supposed to stay open until midnight. The following evening, my husband tried to book a table for dinner at the bar, only to be told by the same young waiter that the restaurant was fully booked. Oddly enough, there was only one table occupied at that time. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that the hotel provides coffee and tea in the room only on the first night, which seems inadequate for a 4-star hotel.

This is a very good choice. First, the location: about 500 meters from Bologna Centrale and about 1.5 KM to Piazza Maggiore. Thus, quite walkable for a fit individual. The room was well appointed: fridge, coffee maker. There are three dining options on site (including a Michelin-starred restauarant). While I did not take advantage of these because I was out and about, it was good to know they are there.

Terrific location, especially if you are coming to Bologna via train (about a seven minute walk). Very close to the historic district without being in the middle of a lot of touristy things. The hotel has a great coffee bar if you don’t want the full breakfast, and it has a nice restaurant plus a superb fancy one. Really a great place to stay. The room was not huge but it was very comfortable and quiet.

The I Portici Hotel far exceeded our expectations. This was our first visit to Bologna and the location was the greatest benefit for us. It was within walking distance to plenty of shopping, dining, tourist attractions, and most importantly the train station. The Pizzeria Portici on the 2nd floor in the hotel was outstanding. The cafe downstairs had a kiosk where you could order in Italian or English which made things much easier. The service and the food were superb! The employees at the front desk were extremely helpful and they recommended an amazing Restaurante Osteria dell 'Orsa, which I highly recommend. When visiting Bologna in the future we will definitely stay here again!

Spacious room, very comfortable bed and linen. 3 great restaurants, the degustation was nearly 4 hours of deliciousnes. Absolutely wonderful. The building of a tramline section in front of the hotel is complete so no noise or dust. Easy access in a taxi.

We stayed at the I Portici Hotel in August 2024 and had a wonderful experience. We stayed in a superior room (116) and the room was lovely and had all the amenities required including a large bed. The staff are excellent and helpful with the restaurant and bar team being absolutely amazing, very accommodating and friendly. The food is excellent and all cooked fresh, (Michelin Rosette 2024) but is similar in price to many other restaurants in the location. The hotel is around 5 mins from the main train station and 8/9 minute walk to the centre of town. We have had four very relaxing nights here and we would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to friends and family who were thinking of visiting Bologna.
