Exeter Court Hotel

The bed was lovely and comfortable, the room smelt slightly as if someone had smoked in it and the security door into the block could do with some oil as it was very squeaky. The bar and restaurant were excellent, we had a delicious meal. The staff were lovely and very helpful and so I would definitely recommend staying here.

Very good location for Exeter and South Devon. The staff, room and food were all very good, and wr liked the unusual layout of the rooms - in small blocks and all on one floor. Ample car parking. Overall great value for money

Very clean, comfortable bed lovely shower, great staff, enjoyed our stay. The parking was excellent lots of space and EV chargers were able which was good.

Staff really friendly and helpful. Rooms clean with most facilities but quite compact. Corridors and carpets In need of updating and areas outside in need of repairs and maintenance. Dining area good and food excellent and great value. Bar was well stocked and well priced.

This was a return stay as I'd been impressed before and it was just as i remembered it. Lovely room with comfy bed and nice shower. Amenities included my own iron and ironing board, fan and a green bin for recycling. The staff in the restaurant were lovely, very quick service, the food was delicious. Plenty of car parking space including charging points for electric vehicles. There's a petrol station as soon as you come out of the hotel site as well. Straight off the motorway. If I'm staying near Exeter, this is the hotel I'll stay at everytime.

Such a convenient location for our needs with free parking at a fantastic price. Tbh there was more available which we didn’t use/need but worth knowing, bar, restaurant, car charging points.

This is a nice hotel/motel ideal if you are sailing from Plymouth or arriving back on the ferry. The room was spacious enough for 2 and very clean. The bed linen and towels snowy white. It has a nice bar and we were made very welcome, we had our evening meal and breakfast in the restaurant both were well presented and very tasty. I would definitely recommend.

The room was very clean and the location very quiet. We were travelling for an event and had to get up very early so missed out on the breakfast. The room was perfect for what we needed, the bed comfortable and we slept well. It was great value for money and we would stay here again.

Fabulous hotel. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, staff are friendly and helpful. Lots of free parking, easy access from the A38. Rooms are quite small but perfectly adequate. Beds and pillows are comfortable.

Room was clean , however , we found an empty durex wrapper by the side of the bed ! Appreciate the room is uesd by other people but its not pleasant to find evidence that it has been !

The room was dirty, the sink was blocked, towels smelled. Beds very uncomfortable and pillows had seen better days. I would say, just somewhere to rest our heads but considering the pillows and bed…….not ideal and won’t be visiting again.

The block I was in and my room #47 smelt musty. The bathroom was very clean but the room didn’t look as though it had been hoovered. And looked a little tired. As you entered the block there were plies of laundry bags stacked up. I don’t know if this is where the musty smell originated.

Booked it with a hotels.com credit. So only paid £50. Wouldnt have said it should have been more than this to start with. The rooms are away from the main building, a bit like a motel. The room was very small with a small double bed. A shower room, no bath. It was clean enough, but very dated. Room was hot so opened the window to sleep but then you have to listen and smell all the smokers just outside. The total price for a small double room with shower, no breckfast should have been £140.00. The price is double on a sat night to in the week. The curtains are thick and would block out light if they were on a track instead of poles. Due to this the room was very light at around 5.30am. It did its job but too expensive on a weekend night.

We had a standard double this time (room 5) seemed very small. There were no plastic cups in bathroom where we always pop our toothbrushes etc and the draws did not fit smoothly also no extra chair to sit in

Exeter court hotel has recently undergone a renovation of its bedrooms. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although near a major road there is very little noise from the road. I would recommend a stay here. It’s very easy to reach many parts of Devon by car.

We have stayed here 3 times now. It is a great value for a short stay near Exeter. It may look basic but the rooms are clean and tidy and a good breakfast too. Easy access to M5 and 10 mins drive into Exeter. Free parking.

I was expecting the to stay at an hotel. This was a motel. It rained on our first day and to get to breakfast we had to cross the car parking in the rain. The rooms were adequate size but not spacious. The decor and floor carpeting in the rooms and hallways need updating. It all looks a little tired and I was not comfortable walking on the carpet in the room barefoot. Maybe hard flooring would be better, or a new carpet with a tighter weave. Having said this the beds were comfortable and clean and I had a good nights sleep. The ensuite was perfectly adequate but the shower was not very powerful and the ensuite was very clean. The staff were all very helpful and cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. In conclusion I would stay here again if on a short visit.

The room was small but suitable for a one night stay. Pillows were lumpy though. Bathroom was nicely refurbished. Breakfast was was very nice with good service.

Small but very comfy and clean rooms Great shower with lots of pressure! No plugs by the bed is a bit of a pain. The hotel is really nice but let down by noisy guests. It seems to be used my loads of tradesmen during the week, the car park is full of vans. So about 6:30 it's non stop door slamming and van doors being shut. A nice hotel but maybe not for light sleepers or those wanting a lie in

Good location rooms very small but ok

Quiet and a comfortable bed, with a modern well designed bathroom. What more could I need; well maybe the tv to have worked, but I had a very restful night.

I was upgraded to a bigger room, because I couldn’t enter my assigned room. The staff was really polite and helpful. Couldn’t do more for me.

Great position just of the main road, yet easy to drive into the city. All the staff couldn't do enough for you.

Reception staff including one excellent trainee helped us upgrade to accommodate our 16 year old grandson who was now travelling with us. We were very grateful as it was graduation week and all rooms were taken.

I had 2 rooms booked with Expedia. Cancelled one room with Expedia but the hotel cancelled both rooms. So when we tried to check in we had no room as it was full. They did however manage to find us a room in Exeter and they paid for it. But I still had to pay £16 to park the car.

The room was cramped. The mattress was very creaky just turning over, possibly needs replacing. Restaurant staff were excellent. Reception needs improving - sometimes no one on the desk. I found the woman quite brusque, not really welcoming. Possibly the exterior will need painting soon.

Quite away from traffic, only 15 min ride into town centre.

This hotel is located in a great location just off the main routes and there is little to no noise at all in and around the grounds. All the staff were very friendly and attentive at all times and the food options were very reasonable. The rooms are a little bit on the small side but as you only sleep and wash in them this is not an issue at all, and they're kept very clean

Nice hotel A little bit out of town but ok

The property was a good distance for visiting Exeter and the surrounding area. The room was comfortable and quiet and the bed gave me a lovely night’s sleep. The breakfast was fresh and tasty and plentiful. The bar area was cosy and had a welcoming fireplace. There was ample parking and you can park close to your room. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Easy motorway access. All staff friend and accommodating. Evening meal good quality and breakfast always bang on.

Clean and tidy, a couple of places need some attention but overall good. Mattress a bit soft, slept ok though nice and quiet. Breakfast options very good, cereal toast juices and full English with hot drinks. Unfortunately the full English came out Luke warm but the beans were cold and had to send back. Even though it was sent back the beans were hot but everything else was Luke warm. Didn't use the internet, location is easy to get to being just off the A38.

My family stayed at the hotel as a last minute emergency , whilst having our house repaired. The room we had was great and clean. Plenty of towels provided. On the first evening our family ate in the restaurant, each having a different meal. For the adults this was our first meal of the day. I became unwell around 2 hours after eating at the hotel with suspected food poisoning, that continued throughout the night and next day. We avoided the restaurant until the last day where we gave our children some packaged items (cereals). Whilst they ate I spoke to the hotel manager (Beverley), who suggested that the meal I ate could not have made me unwell as others did not have a problem. I was not asked how I felt, and instead was asked if I had stayed previously (I’m still unsure of the relevance of this, but the answer was yes). It’s a real shame, as the staff in the restaurant are fantastic and the rooms themselves do the job. My advice though, avoid the lasagne. And don’t expect any interest in your health from the hotel manager if you do encounter an issue, even if it was likely inflicted by the hotel. It’s frustrating that I cannot score the management separately to the staff here, as the service staff are very friendly and were great with our children. The management approach and attitude is poor, and ultimately a situation that could have been dealt with through a little compassion and an apology for potential harm caused was instead met with defensiveness.

Stayed for business as a stopover. The room itself was clean and nicely laid out, the bed was comfy and I got a good night's sleep. The bar and restaurant felt more like a cafeteria than a bar and restaurant. No cozy sofas or chairs, just tables and chairs. Had a steak but was overcooked and just okay.

Extremely good value for money, clean, comfortable, warm & good location for visiting Exeter, Torquay & surrounding areas. Dinner at the hotel was very disappointing & we would eat elsewhere if we stayed again, but on this occasion we were too tired and hungry to dine out after a very long drive & the menu looked good. We can recommend Calamari as a starter, my partners ‘Pie of the moment’ was passable, but the accompanying veg was rather minuscule for an adult sized portion (a blessing in disguise though as it was very undercooked.) I splashed out & treated myself to a steak, sadly a real ‘mistake!’ Overcooked, dry, tasteless, the same can be said about the dreadful reformed chips - I left over 2 thirds of my meal & my complaint was completely ignored when flagged up…outrageous! I want to conclude on a positive note though - breakfast was absolutely delicious & could not have been more plentiful, a just reward after going to bed hungry & too tired to argue. Please pass my grateful thanks to the breakfast team:-)
