Hot tub is finally about to be recommissioned - unclear why it’s been down for so long. Bike rental arrangement worked well; though the bike wasn’t great it helped give me a workout (the main goal). Plenty of bike lanes to use. South Beach can be grubby but the hotel offers an island of civility

It was very nice and people were generally kind and helpful. Unfortunately we had a few issues. We went in the hot tub one evening and felt our skin burning and we jumped out and went to our room to shower. It lasted for about an hour. Our bathing suits and jewelry were ruined. The next evening I asked the front desk about it and they said there was a problem with it and it was overloaded with chlorine. They gave us a $250 credit and offered a cream. I was shocked that they didn't alert the guests so anyone who had been exposed could have been informed and made their own decision about treatment. If I hadn't asked, nobody would have told me which I found inappropriate. Plus, our bathing suits, cover ups and jewelry were worth over $250 so we lost money. Housekeeping never visited our room, a few times someone from housekeeping would offer towels but a real service never happened during our 3 night stay. Finally, I asked a bellman if he could get me a taxi at a specific time. He assured me he would. I went outside at the specified time and there was no taxi. I asked him and he obviously forgot so he wound up calling a friend? This guy said his meter was broken so he had to use a meter on his phone???? Then he said he couldn't take a credit card . It was such a rip off and scam and he told me I owed him $18 for 1/2 mile and needed cash . The combination of these three things made my stay just so so and not excellent like I expected.

First-time at this property. Usually stay next door when we’re in South Beach. Our kids stayed at the Ritz a month ago and raved about the pool area and how you could get a seat no matter what time of day. No getting up at 7 to get a chair at the pool! They also booked through Amex and got a great deal on early and late check in.

The hotel is severely understaffed and there are key things missing or broken. While room was clean and all staff members were incredibly professional the lack of enough staff left a lot to be desired. Wait time at check in was almost 30 minutes because they only had two team members working the desk. In addition one of the 3 elevators was broken during the length of our stay and our phone in the room regularly lost its connection when we were trying to order room service. The same person who took our order at room service was also delivering the order on two days so when she was doing a delivery the phone would just ring and ring. Again nice people but not the level of service you would expect from the Ritz. At check out they mistakenly charged me an extra person fee of $75 plus taxes a day and it took 20 minutes to get that resolved because the lady was the only person working check in. If they are going to remain understaffed they should provide a daily resort credit to guests to make up for the issues. Pool area was also lacking in cleanliness due to staff shortage. We had a nice time overall because the staff was so lovely it’s just not the level you’d expect from a ritz property.

I’ve stayed in this property prior to its ‘renovation’. The staff were lovely, the room was nice however the cleanliness wasn’t up to par, it was dusty behind the doors in the bathroom/shower and toilet as well as the vents in the ceiling, there was a stain in the bath he entire time also. It seems as though the top sheet doesn’t fit the bed properly and kept coming untucked and moving throughout the night. I only booked a king room, however was given a room outside the elevators, it was ridiculously noisy all night (beeping from the elevators) and people talking/chatting waiting to get in. One of the elevators was broken the entire time which also gave lengthy delays when trying to get to your room or the pool. As mentioned prior the staff were really nice however, I don’t think this hotel lives up to the ‘Ritz Carlton’ name.

The staff was great but it's time to do some renovation. The hotel is very dated, many places the wall paper is coming off the walls. The lighting in the room is very inconvenient. I dropped an ice cube on the floor and when I wiped up the melted water with a white towel the towel was instantly brown from the dirt. This was a surprise for a Ritz-Carlton. I liked the experience and staff but for the money I feel there are definitely more updated options.

Extremely Disappointed – Unacceptable Experience I booked a stay at The Ritz-Carlton in South Brach Miami expecting the highest standard of cleanliness and luxury. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but. Upon waking up the first morning in my room, I was shocked and disgusted to discover a cockroach. At a hotel of this caliber, basic hygiene should never be in question. The presence of pests is simply unacceptable, especially at a property that prides itself on offering a five-star experience. It completely ruined my sense of comfort and trust in the brand. While the staff were polite, this incident overshadowed everything else about my stay. I expected far better from The Ritz-Carlton, and I left feeling extremely disappointed. I sincerely hope management takes this issue seriously and addresses it immediately to prevent other guests from experiencing the same.

For an ocean view room, I was first assigned to a room in an auxillary building with a shabby, near broken elevator and on the 4th floor with palm trees blocking most of the ocean. After complaint to the front desk, they moved us to the main building with a real ocean view. So, excep for the first front desk staff who gve me the initial room, the other staff members were very nice, but the facility is not really close to 5-star.

Good service as expected, rooms a bit small, largely due to age of building on a cramped South Beach I know it's the Ritz but prices are $$$$$$ . $40 for cocktail at the pool. I expect to pay over the odds at a pool bar and especially the Ritz but that's just too much IMHO ! Also $60 for overnight parking is excessive i feel together with a $45 resort fee. so basically they sting you extra $100 each nioght if you have a car travelling there

The room was smaller than we expected... we booked the partial ocean front and was not impressed we paid less at fountainbleau and had more space and better view There was no microwave in room we had to ask for one and they brought one to room this is our last stay at ritz carlton

My family and I booked a one-night stay at the Ritz-Carlton South Beach for Mother’s Day, hoping for a relaxing and luxurious experience. Unfortunately, we were so dissatisfied that we ended up checking out the same night around 8:30 pm. The hotel itself is noticeably outdated. For a brand that markets itself as high-end, the furnishings and overall ambiance felt more tired than timeless. Dining was another letdown — overpriced food that didn’t live up to expectations, and a mandatory gratuity of 18-22% added to nearly every charge, even when the service was lackluster. What truly ruined the experience was the terrible valet service and the unacceptable customer treatment. The valet manager, Manny, was especially rude and dismissive. When my husband went to retrieve the car and explained we were checking out early due to our dissatisfaction, Manny questioned him aggressively and made him feel uncomfortable, as though we were doing something wrong. His behavior came off as discriminatory and entirely inappropriate for a service-based industry. To make matters worse, another family member had “self-parked” his motorcycle with VALET and was still charged the full $65 valet fee — yet Manny made a big scene about it, as if it were some kind of inconvenience to them. It was unnecessary and unprofessional. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this location. Next time, we’ll be staying at the Four Seasons — where hospitality still means something.

My family and I were shocked at the level of customer service we received considering this is rated a 5-star hotel. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by a lovely valet who was incredibly kind. From there, everything went downhill. After checking in, it took more than 40 minutes for our bags to arrive to our room. The hotel staff were unfriendly, and used the excuse that they were working alone. We then asked for another piece of luggage to be delivered from our vehicle, it never showed up. I personally had to go down to the valet and have them walk me over to the car (after we had returned from dinner around 9 PM). Only to find it had been sitting in the luggage room and hadn’t been picked up more than 5 hours later. After checkout, we discovered we’d left our stroller in the room. When I called to inquire how we could get it back we were told “send us a shipping label and we’ll mail it”. Just horrible customer service all around. The hotel itself is nice enough and convenient for south beach but unfortunately this experience has turned us off of the Ritz-Carleton brand going forward.

The pool, restaurant and housekeeping teams were amazing and responsive. The front desk team seemed as if guests were a bother. They were condescending and not particularly pleasant to deal with. They seemed to look down at guests or resent them. The fitness center (really a bad gym) is the worst of any 5 Star property we've stayed. The property is riding on the Ritz Carlton name only and should be 4 Star and not 5. I would not recommend this property to stay but highly recommend Dilido Beach Bar which is open to the public.

It was a nice hotel and a great suite for us and our baby. The restaurant was great and the pool area was really nice. The staff around the pool were very helpful. The hotel is a bit dated, you can see the beach bar needs some love. Although right on the beach and close to good restaurants the location isn’t the greatest, a bit noisy, dirty and a lot of locals and tourists right outside the front doors. Wish I knew that beforehand. Personally a little disappointed as I expect 10/10 when staying at ritz.

The ritz is in a great location easy to walk to different dining options, lots of great shopping around no car needed. Property has lots to offer on site and everybody was super friendly and willing to help with anything you need. Never waited in a long line at front desk they are quick and efficient . They gave me a late check out since my flight was later that evening so I was still able to still use the beach and shower after. I will definitely go back there really enjoyed my stay. Also very family friendly which was important as I had my kids with me. Great experience.

Location was amazing! Hotel was very nice and service was great. Room had some issues but bed was very comfortable. Pool and beach were exactly what you want when you book S-Beach. Price point was a bit high for comparable hotels, so value was not what you would expect. Room also was plastered against neighboring property so had to keep blind closed each day. Food options were limited so be prepared to seek other options. Nice property though and service was what you would expect.

Disappointed is an understatement. When I arrived, the trash in my room was overflowing and smelled. There was very little service at the beach and pool. They minimized their menus at both, so little options for food. The phone in my room was broken. Overall, just not a Ritz Carlton stay. The Loews next door has much better service and product for substantially less.

The Ritz Carlton staff are the consummate professionals. My room was luxurious and glamorous. The amenities are top-notch. The hotel is beautiful and richly appointed. The pool area is relaxing and beautiful. My next trip to South Beach will be to The Ritz Carlton, South Beach. I highly recommend this hotel.

The food quality and selection definitely did not warrant the pricing. $24 for avocado toast is absurb. While the staff members are polite and attentive they are also a bit intrusive, especially around the pool area. 6th floor smells like mold by the ice machine.

We had an amazing experience at this Ritz Carlton location. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was exceptional! The staff made us feel extra special for our 25th wedding anniversary. It was the perfect place to celebrate. We were greeted with glasses of champagne at check-in and later surprised with a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room. The resort and beach amenities are perfect, and the location of this hotel is excellent. We enjoyed a very clean room and convenient dining. We cannot say enough about the quality and value of this location along with the very friendly and amazing staff! The only thing we recommend is to request a room that is not across the hall from the hotel’s service and electrical rooms where they had to constantly enter in and out. Otherwise, our stay was perfect! We will definitely return to this amazing Ritz Carlton hotel again!

The Ritz Carlton at Miami South had many amazing aspects about it...its just the price at the end of it all. They provide everything you need from sunscreen to towels with wait staff at the beach and the pool. From the valet to check in you are greeted with champagne and over the top service. The pool is open 24 hours..fun for couples to take a late night dip.
