Self-Service Check-In, but with a very helpful staff member to assist with any questions or issues. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable with a huge bed! The food and bar was great. For a one night stay, I would certainly recommend, and if you like a swim, there is a good size pool and also a gym.

The whole experience was very good from checking in to leaving all the staff that we dealt with were very helpful we had a double room which was very large and clean the breakfast had plenty of choice and the pool and facilities were excellent i would have no problem recommending this hotel a very good hotel at a good price

The place is great to stay. So comfortable once you unpack everything. The staff are friendly and always ready help us out. The location is close to the high street.They have a great gym and swimming pool. I would definitely go back again.

Have to pay extra to use the pool - it’s not clear it’s not included in your booking. Whilst I understand it doesn’t say it is included, it’s very unusual for a hotel not to include pool use for free. A real shame because the dinner and breakfast were great and it’s a great location for our matches and the pool’s an added bonus for a lot of kids!

Helpful staff, had a couple of minor issues during our stay but the staff were quick to respond and resolve the issues. Free, safe parking during our stay was a bonus. Easy access to major routes but quiet location. Pool was excellent.

The room was very clean, but needed more lighting. Went for breakfast, it was dry and overcooked. I asked for a tray, I was given a dirty one. On the whole we would stay again but not have breakfast.

Arrived and check in was quick, easy and simple. Got to my room and the fan was on and windows open…. Phew as it was +29. Went down and got a drink for me an 2 friends. £18 for 3 fresh orange lemonades. Went back to the room and used the shower room. MASSIVE amounts of mould on both showed heads and smell present I. The toilet. Rubbish left in the room also… VERY POOR! Massive Plus was the meal…. We all ordered starters and mains and everything was 5* plus. Only issue is order starters and then order meal. Used the app to order, don’t order together or it all comes at once

Poorly maintained, indifferent staff and feral guests. Our room seemed to have electrical problems as most of the lights didn\'t work. The receptionist was unable to move us and promised they would be fixed the next day. They never were, so we navigated the room at night with phone torches. This revealed an unidentifiable brown liquid stain on the carpet, a mixture of pink and black moulds in the bathroom, cracked and uneven tiles and chipped/cracked fixtures and fittings. Sleep was disrupted by feral children running laps of the hotel corridors shouting after midnight, then drunk guests trying to find their rooms. Breakfast was ok but not well replenished. As it was a weekend we had the "bonus" of free parking, but I can\'t believe they have the brass neck to charge paying customers to park at the hotel on weekdays, bearing in mind this is on an out of town office/industrial park not in the town centre. Staff were generally indifferent an obviously fed up of dealing with a string of complaints from unhappy guests (we heard several other complaints about noise and poor service). This was my first stay at a Village Hotel and it will certainly be my last!

Very disappointing stay considering the cost. We booked 2 x rooms for family. The cleanliness was very poor/the rooms are dated/electric cables showing from the radiator/cooler which didn’t work properly. No ac. They have Dyson fans which barely had any air coming from them. The food in the restaurant was extremely expensive for what was served. Very bland. The staff were good in reception and bars. A few drunk customers made it a bad atmosphere. The breakfast was very bland and not much variety. It’s a nice looking building from the outside but the inside is tired and in need of some serious TLC

Lobby and bar area are decent. Room had no air conditioning and the windows only opened a fraction. Very uncomfortable temperature wise, and the bed was uncomfortable too. Not worth the money paid. Or any money really for that matter

Great place to stay, however, none of the four USB ports worked. We reported on first day and they still didn’t work when we checked out after two nights. We were in room next to house keeping and it could be quite noisy, we wouldn’t want that room again. Staff are great and facilities are good.

This is a nice looking location with plenty of parking and the beds were comfy, it not a little hot, most of the staff were pleasant and the breakfast was fine. However there were quite a few issues which means I'd be reticent to return here. When I turned up there was an event going on, it was very busy and there were no obvious staff at the entrance and I couldn't figure out how to book in, which you have to do yourself, I eventually figured out how to on the ipad on my own even though the on screen instructions were wrong (where to place the keycard to program it) The free standing main light in the room was broken, unplugged and leaning against a scuffed wall, there was no ceiling lighting, just a bedside lamp which wasn't enough to work by. After a shower I realized the extractor didn't work so the bathroom didn't dry and it made the entire room feel damp, I kept the windows open to get some air in the room as there was no air conditioning or apparent source of other fresh air / circulation. I stayed on the 2nd floor and could clearly hear the music from a disco or event which was taking place somewhere below, making it hard to sleep until it calmed down sometime around midnight. One of the younger male staff members obviously didn't want to be there. When I booked out I did find someone at the reception table and told them about the room issues and they said they'd report them to maintenance, but by then it was a bit too late.

We arrived and there was no disability room available to us despite booking and confirming the booking. They were apologetic and offered us a taxi to a different hotel. This was not acceptable as we were there to attend a funeral locally. We live in America and were running on adrenaline as we hadn’t slept for 37 hours at this point. They issued drink and food vouchers while they figured out the problem and find a solution. Eventually the tossed a member of staff out of her room and we moved in. Exhausted.

The hotel was ok, nothing special, upon arriving, it had a sports bar downstairs, very loud and messy, lots of alcohol and heavy drinking. It was self checkin and everyone who was checking in had issues so someone had to come and help. For a 4 star at this price, it should not be self checkin. I had an issue with the room and they changed me immediately but the walls at this hotel very thin, you could hear everything from the room next door. Gym and pool was not included it was an extra price, once again when you pay 1700 SEK a night, these should be included. Breakfast was average.

Worst experience I've ever had at a hotel, booked a double double family room, back in February, got to the hotel and they didn't have one available they said. After a hour of waiting about they said we could have 2 double rooms. The women apologised and explained she only worked vover once a month, had been to ask the manager several times for help, why couldnt the manager come out to sort the issue? At 11.00pm another guest walked into our room when we were in bed saying they have been given this room, they went away and I'm assuming they got a different room. Our only concern then was our daughter and her friend (both 15) were in the other room and if someone had walked into their room they would have been terrified. In the morning I went to see someone regarding last night and they had deleted my booking off the system and stopped our door keys from working, had to prove I had booked the hotel and breakfasts for 2 nights as it was showing on the system we were a no show and there was no record. Finally got the room we booked so we were all together. Wouldn't stay here again also looks a lot nicer in the pictures than it actually is.

At 11.00pm another guest walked into our room when we were in bed saying they have been given this room, they went away and I'm assuming they got a different room. Our only concern then was our daughter and her friend (both 15) were in the other room and if someone had walked into their room they would have been terrified. In the morning I went to see someone regarding last night and they had deleted my booking off the system and stopped our door keys from working, had to prove I had booked the hotel and breakfasts for 2 nights as it was showing on the system we were a no show and there was no record. Finally got the room we booked so we were all together. Wouldn't stay here again also looks a lot nicer in the pictures than it actually is.

I understand that mistakes happen, but this is a concerning mistake. It took a few days to sort out and get a refund, but it meant me having to chase the hotel as promised call backs and e mails were not forthcoming, which was frustrating, and disappointing under the circumstances. Although it was dealt with swiftly by Sarah following my second call. It has also resulted in me having to cancel my credit card and request a new one under the recommendation of my bank. No real explanation was provided as the hotel don't seem to understand what happened? If it wasn't for this I'd happily stay at the hotel again, but I'd be too worried about the security of my credit card due to the lack of clarity as to what caused the mistake, so I won't.

Hotel seems very new and modern, very clean. Staff were friendly. Ideal location for what we required. The car park is big, plenty of parking available. Parking is free from Fri 3pm-Sun 3pm (Otherwise its £5 per 24hrs)

Overall a decent setup. They have a lot of facilities on site like a Starbucks, dining, drinking, fitness and swimming. The rooms are somewhat dated by today’s hotel standards in my opinion. Having no way to decline housekeeping during my stay was unnerving especially after this is pretty bog standard today (more so after the pandemic). Checking in was a nightmare because we needed assistance to check in early (which there is a £15/$18 charge for btw and not clearly stated in any communication). The clerk’s system kept failing or she didn’t know which double rooms offered a tub or couldn’t clearly see which one was available/cleaned by house keeping. Eventually the front desk clerk pulled colleagues in to figure it out and get us checked in an hour after we showed up and 30mins before the 3pm check in time. Seems the hotel has prioritized self serve checkin at the expense of controls/empowering their staff to do what they need. Lastly location. Not an ideal place to stay if you need to get to Manchester. This really only works if you Uber or are driving.

This was the second time we have stayed at this hotel. The first time we visited the East Lancashire Railway, this time we had an event at the AO arena in Manchester. It’s a 7 minute drive into Bury. Park at the metro station and into Manchester. Staff friendly and welcoming. Hotel is modern, the showers are great. The family room is spacious. Plenty of spaces in the car park. We will come back and stay here again.

Very disappointing stay considering the cost. We booked 2 x rooms for family. The cleanliness was very poor/the rooms are dated/electric cables showing from the radiator/cooler which didn’t work properly. No ac. They have Dyson fans which barely had any air coming from them. The food in the restaurant was extremely expensive for what was served. Very bland. The staff were good in reception and bars. A few drunk customers made it a bad atmosphere. The breakfast was very bland and not much variety. It’s a nice looking building from the outside but the inside is tired and in need of some serious TLC

Self-Service Check-In, but with a very helpful staff member to assist with any questions or issues. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable with a huge bed! The food and bar was great. For a one night stay, I would certainly recommend, and if you like a swim, there is a good size pool and also a gym.

The room was very clean, but needed more lighting. Went for breakfast, it was dry and overcooked. I asked for a tray, I was given a dirty one. On the whole we would stay again but not have breakfast.

The whole experience was very good from checking in to leaving all the staff that we dealt with were very helpful we had a double room which was very large and clean the breakfast had plenty of choice and the pool and facilities were excellent i would have no problem recommending this hotel a very good hotel at a good price

It was a overall acceptable stay. The hotel is worn out but the room was clean. The room did not have air-conditioning instead there was a single fan blower on the table. Toilet paper roll holder was broken and fell off. Just shows you the state of the hotel in terms of lack of maintenance. Breakfast was English - very basic.

Stayed with children, the staff were unhelpful and avoiding helping me on my own with 2 children. No telephone in the room. Room service forgot part of the order.
